  1. my buddy found a trailor by looking for boats on craigslist and the newspaper that were the same dimensions as his and he just bought the trailer without the boat, he got a pretty good deal only 100 dollars for a trailer for his 14 foot jon
  2. my boat is very old and has seen many owners, and there is just so much hardened crap caked on the bottom (many different sealants) and i think that might be the reason why none of my sealants have worked. how can i get this stuff off? i have the same problem i have this almost silly putty type stuff on most of the rivets on the bottum and its a pain to try and pick off and it doesnt work to well,
  3. thats just what i did when i got my jon boat haha, as long as you work a little bit every day it iwll be done in nooo time
  4. thanks for the help guys ill try it out
  5. i found out that my boat had a few leaky rivets, how should I seal them? thanks teenage angler

  7. ok ive got about 2 more months to finish my jon boat, i have started sanding where i want to paint, and its talking a longgg time, so any help there would be great, i also am wondering which paint/ primer, and carpet, and carpet glue. and what should i do to completly re-do my trailer's electrical system. thanks teenage angler
  8. instead of of a sheet of aluminum, i used a aluminuum pool decking, you know the stuff around the above ground pools to make decks, it works great, requires alot less bracing because it hardly flexs at al and its rectangular so you can mount your seat pedastals right onto it
  9. I have seen numerous people fish out of boats very similar if not exactly like the ones in your post, they look pretty stable, i would prefer a jon boat though, because they are easier to accessorize, faster, and alot more options.
  10. I have a 10 foot jon boat that I am trying to sell and im not sure what i should set the price for. I am going to list it on Craigslist. I live in the NE corner of Kansas. The boat has NO LEAKS! It is I think 34 inches wide at the floor. i bought a bigger baot so i have no need for this one anymore and i need money from selling this boat to go into the bigger 14 foot jon i got. So anybody thats got any suggestions on what i should list the price as, then just tell me please. I have some pictures that im trying to get on. i will get them on hopefully by monday. any body interested in buying a 10 foot jon boat can contact me as well. thanks alot Teenage Angler
  11. i just use a 50 quart livewell, which is about 12.5 gallons, it works realy good, and i have held a limit of fish for 5 hours a couple times , but the aerator is a big factor of the fish's survival rate. minumum gph for me is 650
  12. I only look at all the auctions that are going around in about a 50 mile radius of my house, so if i am interested in it I can go and look at it before I bid on it, but a couple of old firneds have bought boats off ebay and it was a greattt deal.
  13. i found some decals for my boat on ebay, they ahve alot just keep on checking, as for the light scratches, im afraid i cant help you on that
  14. does anybody know, where i can go to get it media or sandblasted and how much it will cost?
  15. thank you all for your help, teenage angler
  16. ha yeah, but that might take awhile with all the coats of paint that are already on it and im planning on painting it , carpeting it, putting a new motor on it, putting a livewell, and electronics in the baot and some storage in the front and back decks. so if sanding with 120 sandpaper takes some time then fishing will probably take a little longer haha
  17. i have a 48 quart livewell it works pretty good for me, id like to upgrade to a bigger pump though, mine is only a 350gph
  18. I would keep with the aluminum because I usually fish were there is alot of fallen timber and i wouldnt want to damage my nice $50,000 bass boat paint, so i have a 14 foot flat bottom jon boat and it works just fine for me adn i have it down at grand lake and it handles the big wakes of all the other 30ft.+ boats just fine.
  19. i get them fully charged first then i put them in my house where its warmer and on a little table i keep in the closet
  20. Does anybody know a really good way to remove old paint and stickers from an aluminum jon boat, there are about 5 coats of paint on it so it is really hard to get it all off with just sanding, there are several layers of stickers on it too. Anything would be helpful. Thanks, Teenage Angler
