The guides are stainless. They have a TiCH coating. This is why there has been a lot of people experiencing grooving and wear.

They are pretty cheap as far as the construction is concerned. My first impression of them was they looked like they belonged on a toy fishing rod. I haven't had any problem with them as of yet... though I haven't put them through much, and have only run 10-12lb Yo-Soft through them.

Cell Mate, Citrus Shad, Old Glory, and Wat Red Craw here. Though I've not fished it, the Bluegrass Craw looks downright killer for my home lake.

The Rapala Shad Rap is on darn near everyone's top five list for cold water cranks. Well worth the price, and if you can get them on sale it's a no-brainer.

That's not good. I have one Carrot; it's a 6'2" MH Gold casting. The guides are a joke, but the rod has served me well. I use it for topwater the vast majority of the time: walking Sammy's and Giant Dog-X's.

I don't see that, as they are a ways from competing. Plus, Ponder looked much better than other QB's taken before him. Lots of teams looking for QB's: Seattle; Miami; Cleveland; and perhaps Jax, as well as SF. He's due a HUGE bonus very soon, so we'll know shortly. Also, the number one overall pick (Luck) should not be holding a clipboard.

Very true, he's seen it all. The thing that blows my mind is the Tigers weren't even mentioned in Prince rumors...not even once. I've been following the story pretty closely all offseason, and the consensus was it was down to Washington, Texas, and Baltimore, with Seattle and Chicago occasionally mentioned. Rumor has it this signing came from ownership, not Dombrowski. One has to wonder if it is a $214 million knee-jerk reaction to V-mart going down. Also, doesn't Washington look like fools for signing Werth to that mega-contract last year?

Howdy Falcon; good to see you. I'm willing to bet Miggy plays third in interleague games this year. As far as the rest of the season, he'll probably split time at 1B/DH with Prince. As far as the following year(s), it's going to be a mess. I'm not sure how many more years V-Mart has left on his contract, and at 33 coming back from a torn ACL isn't easy. The Tigers may have to sacrifice defense on the left side in order to get Miggy and Prince in the lineup. I can't imagine Cabrera's defense at the hot corner for more than a few games. He's going to have to give up the sauce and get in shape. Lol. Either way, now with Prince as protection, I am definitely targeting Miggy in this year's fantasy draft.

I'm sure he'll do just fine. The AL central is pretty weak in the SPing department. This contract is just stupid. There was a soft market for Prince this winter, evidenced by the fact it took him this long to sign. Detroit came out of nowhere with this. What happens in a few years when Miggy, V-Mart, and Prince are all worthless in the field? Last time I checked there is only one DH.
