How does the CTE100GT perform with 8 lb. mono? Or is 8 lb. a bit too light for this type of reel? Thanks. I've been tossing cranks on 8lb mono with this reel, and it has performed beautifully.

The Loomis was a spinning rod, which I replaced with a Damiki spinning rod. To be exact: Damiki Dark Angel - 6' 6, Med Hvy, Extra-Fast, 1/4 to 1 oz, 12 to 20 lb, Fuji Alconite, EVA Foam, ~$170 In its price range, it's become my favorite spinning rod. Cut the stock hooks off, use a split ring when replacing. Do this. Much easier, and takes the leverage advantage away from the fish; the hooks will move freely and with the fish.

That's a bummer. This may be the only Jackall product that I've been disappointed in.
