What is your favorite Shimano baitcaster?
Chronarch 101SF. I really miss the old Chronarchs. Very comfy to fish with.

Shakey Head Equipment
If I am going to use a spinning outfit for shakey heads, I use a St. Croix Avid AS69MLXF. I use an older Shimano Stradic 2000. I use Power Pro 6/20 for line, and attach a leader of fluorocarbon with a uni-uni knot. I also use this same set-up for unweighted Gambler floating worms, grubs, etc.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
I was really excited to see which pitcher the Brewers were going to trade before the season started. But now with Yovanni Gallardo out for four weeks, I don't think a trade is all that likely. Bummer. The Crew is one of the few teams with a surplus of pitchers, starters at that.

favorite suds
When I was in Oregon a few summers back I had an IPA that blew my mind. Can't recall the name. My buddy still lives in Eugene, I'll have to ask him. I know it's a west coast brewery that makes the stuff. California perhaps. I really love IPA's. The hoppier the better. Although, my favorite specific beer is Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. I'm not a fan of the Busch tall boys cousin Eddie is holding in my avatar. ;D I have to admit, I have a soft spot for malt liquor. I drank Colt .45 and Mickey's during the race yesterday. In college my buddies and I would drink 40's when we shot a round of disc golf. We were broke, and 40's are cheap. I guess they kinda grew on me.

Daytona 500 - Who is Going to Win?
x2 I've met Mark a few times, he's even nicer in person. If anyone ever deserved to win the 500, he does. GO 8! I'd believe it. Where did you meet him at? Are you near Melbourne?

Daytona 500 - Who is Going to Win?
I'd love to see Mark Martin in the winner's circle.

What is your favorite Monster Drink?
My vote goes for two bee pollen tabs and a glass of water. If I'm going the energy drink route, I prefer Red Bull. On fishing trips, I fill a big mug with ice, Jager, and Red Bull. I used to do the vodka and Red Bull thing, until I found out good vodka only needs ice.

New Rod?
How about a mod to mod/fast action casting rod for cranks? This could serve as an all purpose crankbait/jerkbait/topwater rod, as your other casting rods seem to have your plastics and spinnerbait needs filled.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
Not a chance. I'm really interested in how his numbers translate over to American ball. The trend for Japanese studs, minus a few, has not been favorable. The other day some yahoo had Fukudome listed as his ROY winner. He won't put up those kind of numbers.

Will the chopper madness ever end?
I never was a big fan. I really became a hater though when American Chopper cologne and other crap started popping up at all the stores. :

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
The AL looks pretty wide open minus the Bo Sox and Detroit. The NL is going to be a blast to watch. The Mets and D-backs are going to put up a lot of W's. The central should be a two team race. I'm most excited about the fact that there is actually a competitive team here in Milwaukee. I just hope they don't blow it down the stretch and give away the division to the cubs again. Anyone but the cubs. If Rickie Weeks and Bill Hall put up more #'s offensively, the new-look bullpen lives up to its potential, and they improve defensively, they have a legitimate shot at making a long run in the playoffs. Gosh, it feels soooo good to be able say thast again. We were in the cellar of MLB for freakin' decades. I'm not used to these rising ticket prices and having to secure tix long before a weekend series. ;D

pats fans: stop whining and let it go
Believe it or not, some pats fans feel CHEATED. No, you're not dreaming, some pats fans feel cheated. A petition has been started by pats fans to have the NFL review the last 1:40 of the Super Bowl. They claim that the clock should not have stopped after Brandon Jacobs' 4th and 1 conversion. These fans fail to realize that A). Fox's clock is not the official game clock, and . it was an official timeout for a measurement, and soon as the ball was spotted, the refs did a great job of restarting the gameclock. The funny part is, after the final 1:40 is reviewed, it's revealed that the pats should have had 29 seconds at the most on their final possesion, not 35. This just really irks me. Of all the teams wanting a review of game tape, it's the pats. How deliciously ironic. I want to preface this last commentary by saying that I am not singling out any pats fan here on the forum, rather these crybabies who started this petition. Grow up children!!! You had no problem cheating in the past. Then, after being penalized by the league, running up the score on almost every team you played: going for it on 4th down, up by 21, with 1:14 left to play, then denying you were running up the score. After being beaten FAIRLY by the Giants, you can't accept defeat and want the game to be reviewed? Check Belichick's personal video library, he might have what you're lookin for. You had no problem celebrating three recent Super Bowl victories, but now that the table has turned it's a different story. Face it, you got outplayed, outcoahed, and outclassed. Peroid. Anyways.......here's a link to that pathetic petition. I honestly do not think it's official, as an email address is not required. The reason I'm posting the link is because so many Giants fans and patriot-haters have signed it, and it's hilarious. I've got to give a WARNING though, there is a lot of adult language on this petition. http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?XLIItrut

Bud Shootout
Yea, but the only thing that bugs me is Kenseth had nothing to gain from that. He was several places back, and going nowhere. I just get so bummed that the 6, no the 01, no wait, the 8, can never catch a break. He's one of the nicest guys out there. Other drivers and commentators alike have so much respect for this guy.

Bud Shootout
Happy to see ol' Mark Martin get a top 10. I almost cried last year when he finished second @ Daytona. I can't stand Harvick to begin with. A few years back Martin had the car to beat at Daytona, who wrecked him in practice? Harvick. After patching the car up, Martin was wrecked AGAIN by Harvick in the Twins. The 06 still had a top ten finish on Sunday with his pieced together ride. This was when a Rousch Ford never finished @ the top at Daytona That's not the reason I don't like Harvick; never liked him to begin with. Kenseth is at the top of my list too. Without his help drafting, the 29 wouldn't have won the big one. The 17 and Martin have been friends, teammates, and business partners for years. I still don't know why Kenseth helped Harvick overtake Martin. :

Tony Stewart starting the season right
Well we know that's not Kenseth. ;D

Rough week for Baseball
Do any of you O's fans know if a Roberts to the Cubs deal is likely? Rumors have been flying for what seems like forever.
-
Rough week for Baseball
You do realize that the O's are going for youth, do you not? IMO it will serve them well as signing every old and used up star out there wasn't doing them any good. Agreed. It's not like The O's are going anywhere this year to begin with. In fact, quite a few baseball writers have said the O's got a better overal deal for Bedard than the A's got for Harren, and the Twins got for Santana. This might have been the best trade for a pitcher all offseason.

Tony Stewart starting the season right
Yup. I could really do without this guy.

Kistler LTA 08'?
Yea, 10-4 zelmo. Unfortunately they are sold out of the models I want. When I can afford a separate rod for jerkbaits, I'll give the medium rods a look flippin. I'm going to give Trey a buzz next week. From what I've learned so far about the 08's, the MH's are faster than the previous blanks, but I'm not sure about the mediums. I'll post an update after I get the skinny from Kistler.

Rough week for Baseball
Same here. Oh well.

Kistler LTA 08'?
Will do, thanks guys. I see a He76HC in my future Sam, too bad this one wasn't on clearance at Cabelas. I don't own one heavy powered bass rod, and this one is near the top of my list. It'll see a lot of use for frogs, c-rigs, and jigs, basically an all-purpose heavy rod. I have a Zillion just waiting for a new home.

Kistler LTA 08'?
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the new 2008 Heliums? I know the LTA's tend towards the mod-fast side, and was wondering if the 08's have retained the same action, or if they have gone a bit faster? The website says the blanks are stronger than before, so they have been changed. I was wondering how that change has translated towards the action of the rods? Also, while I'm on the subject of LTA's, I have a question about the 07' He63APC. Any comments on this rod? I know it is a MH, but I was wondering how soft the tip is? I ask because I was thinking about picking it up for topwater and jerkbaits, and I usually prefer a meduim powered rod for these techniques. I figured if the rod is more mod-fast, and/or has a softer tip, I could substitute this for my medium powered rods and not miss a step. Also, anyone using this rod for cranks or spinnerbaits in cover? -Thanks, Shaun
