  1. i used them alot last season with mimimal success the best times i caught them was when the shad was very active just before dark i used the strike king king shad
  2. yea i went out today and i was throwing a jig and didnt even get a bite at least the ice was finally gone so hopefully they will start moving shallower
  3. im scared of snakes bad i cant stand them well i was fishing a creek one time and seen one and jumped the guy there said there is a nest of them where i was fishng and just to hook it right under its head in the mouth area then reel in the slack so there is only a foot or so between the snake and rod tip then swing it so it nails a rock to kill it i didnt i wasnt getting close to the thing
  4. yea black and blue for sure but when u hop it dont hop it fast because even a jig will snag i like throwing into the try letting it sink shake it alittle and pull out very slowly
  5. big bag of combos or m&ms or if i feel like cooking peanut butter nobakes are very good when fishing
  6. fishn o ok just wondering brett- really? where were u fishing? around greensburgh?? i might go today yet in the afternoon if it warms up and try it now that u say the ice is gone i probably will definetly go
  7. topwater is a great chose but for those deeper fish i like lipless cranks just keeping it just above the scum and if u feel it rip it hard out of it
  8. o really? cool i have to try them this year has anyone started fishing rivers yet this year?
  9. yea i agree with Bass fiishing Machine but i read the day on the lake with dean rojas in BM magazine in the dead of winter and stated that bass will sometimes school up a bunch of fish and will sometimes hit topwater frogs
  10. the last time i went night fishing i hammered them on underspins in like a silver shad color my buddies were catching a few on swimming jigs but the underspin might be the real deal when it comes to night fishing i cant wait for summer so i can get back out and fish at night
  11. yea i would have to guess that it is still frozen along with all the other lakes in the area should be thawed very soon though
  12. the braid w/ flouro leader should be great for fishing heavy mats there isnt alot of heavy vegation up here so i use 14 pound test bereky vanish flouro with a trilene knot on a snap
  13. i like the blue and black as well but farther north i go the pumblikenseed works better but i would go with a zoom speed craw as a trailer in either junebug or in a pumblikin depending on the color of the jig
  14. what is it? a crankbait or what do u have a link or pic of it i never heard of a hard plastic crawdad
  15. 75% of my presentations are trying to mimic a crawfish siince im from up north there isnt alot of weeds so i like just putting it on a shakyhead and then casting to a rock pile or something and just drag or bounce it off the bottom
  16. welcome to BR big hey fishn is bigseth your friend that fishes rivers?
  17. yea im going down to hagerstown, MD for business all next week im going to buy a lisense and hopefully hit up some water down there i would go to the potomac but i wont have my boat i going to look for some smaller rivers or lakes/ponds ive heard that the bass have started moving shallower down there so
  18. yea i also like the citca a lot!!! but i got a brand new one for only 85 bucks not 120
  19. coffee tubes -- http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1204762639/5#5 rage tail--- http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1203382761/0
  20. lol yea the creek eddie just below the launch i think they call it the catwalk or something at the very back end they were catching a few crappie so i dont know maybe the fish are used to the cold water and are starting to get ready for the spawn
  21. i dont really fish while the ice is melting because i cant launch my boat till all ice is off but i do very good on a jerkbait around areas that have clearer water mixing with more stained water from back eddies and creeks thats in the prespawn though the water is 10 degrees warmer then then now so i would really know but u could try a jerkbait
  22. i fishh the ohio up in pittsburgh once and a while i like to fish current so the best places are where little streams or drains dump into the river a few fsih are sure to be there also right below locks are ok places to fish im not the biggest fan of fishing locks but there are fish there i like keeping my baits small and very natural my favorite bait for the ohio is the yum crawbug
  23. hey most of the lakes here are pretty clear too i like to switch it up sometimes the fish likes more natural colors but then there are days they will hit very flashy lures i like to keep my crankbaits in a natural color then my jerkbaits and topwaters in a flashy color
  24. yea i went out to the queen just for a ride and everything except the back eddies were still frozen there was even a little bit of ice under green bridge im going to wait 2 more weeks til i break out the boat
  25. does anyone use topwater frogs for smallmouth on rivers?
