I have finally found a spot producing fish. I gave up fishing for the last 3 months and now am starting again now that i found them. I caught 3 Bow fish and 7 red panfish. IN 2 hours , not bad except im a little rusty and missed 15 of the little boogies.

idk but those bowfish are pretty weird. I caught my first 2 today. It was fun since it was on my ultra light crappie rod with 4 pound line. Both times it broke my line but it was already on shore when it broke the first one. I would also like to have some info on these fish since i caught a pretty good number of them.

ive heard rumors of being able to pull snook out of canals from my elders. they have said that the indians would trade these snooks with them. they claim they caught them in the canals by the micosukee indian resort & gambling place. any help is appreciated.

thanks for your input but these here werent mullet. I did see some mullet that day but these fish did not look the same. I believe the mullet are silver & black. The fish i saw when they were in the air had a pale faded yellow color belly. These fish did not repeat there jumps numerous times in a row either. Im starting to agree with the catfish theory because i was thinking that myself also. thank you all for your help and any more information would be greatly appreciated.

what tackle and lures do you reccomend for me to try? Also if it is other species would i be able to catch them?

well my dream bass trip would be to sugarlake mexico using a carolina rig with a charlies ribbontail tequila sunrise worm bringing up 6 pounders left and right with the radio going. another dream would be offshore fishing from islmorada catching my kind of trifecta, a bull dolphin , nice kingfish, and a strong tuna. good topic

My dad was telling me that this canal used to have many fish in his yournger days, (20-30) years ago. I would like to know if it still does because i went there today and saw nothing in the crystal clear water. He claims he got a hit but of course he was paying attention to what i was doing when it happened. If anyone knows if there is still fish or if it was fished out i would like to know. I also saw a website saying it was full of bass and panfish with the occasional snook? I would like to know more. I am fishing at the part behind southridge highschool.

In south florida for me it has been extremely hard to find a good place to fish with a high success rate. And without a boat it makes it even harder. If anyone knows of a place to fish on land where i can just catch a fish i would appreciate it. I am 13 and if i could catch a fish i would be more than satisfied. Also include what lures you would use in this spot. Thank you and any replies will be great.

Today i was fishing a small pond on the tamiami trail in miami florida. It was cold weather so i had no clue what to use tackle wise. I saw the fish jumping in the water everywhere. I was there two hours and saw hundreds of fish jump so i knew they were there. I tried shads, worms, swishers, poppers, jigs, and spinners. but nothing bit. I would like some help on what to use. This canal contains largemouth, panfish, peocock, and what appeared to be a channel catfish today. Any help would be appreciated.
