  1. I like Eagle Claw Razor Sharp EWG hooks in various sizes from 2/0 to 5/0.
  2. I like Norman and Bandit crawfish pattered crankbaits best.I also like to use various crawfish plastics as trailers on jigs.
  3. Yes,lizards!Year around really but especially good during spring.I use Zoom and 3X depending on what I want to do.Watermelon, green pumpkin, and black w/blue tail are my favorites.Black w/blue is very underated IMO.
  4. Fish a spinnerbait.You won't be disappointed.

And the sad part,I'm afraid,is all the leeches that made up her entourage are only interested in who gets the money.
  6. I get the feeling Jerry wants an easygoing kind of guy that has no problem with Jerry making all of the decisions without input from said coach.I could be wrong.
  7. I use Real Magic(used to be Reel Magic),and it works for me.My reels cast much smoother after a shot.
  8. Fast moving lures that bass only get a quick look at=mono.Slow, deliberate lures that bass get a good, long look at=fluoro.
  9. Hummingbird Pirhana Max10 or Max30.They're good basic units that you can use to find structure, deep cover, baitfish, fish, water temp, and bottom composition. They're cost efficient and are very simple to operate.
  10. I voted C-rig because I can always drag up some bass with it,They're not always big bass but such is life.If I could have voted for two,I'd have gone with a spinnerbait also.As with the C-rig,if you make enough casts you'll eventually catch bass.
  11. I paid $ 9.00 for a brand new Amb.5000 w/ a 7'0 Berkley Lightning Rod at Walmart. The reel had a tiny scratch on it(which turned out to be dirt that I washed off). The dept mgr of the sporting goods section is a good friend of mine,I might add.
  12. The Walmart I shop at added Chatterbaits,Senkos, and DD22.The dept manager told me they're not downsizing the fishing section, but they're trying to expand on some of the better baits.
  13. Lure:generalist:I fish many different types of lures, but I consider myself better than average with three or four. Water:specialist;I consider myself an excellent shallow water angler, but I do fish medium and deep water when conditions call for it.I'm not bad at those depths, but I'm not great either. Angler:specialist;I like and am good at power fishing. On the other hand,I do like dropshotting, splitshotting, and weightless Senko presentations.
  14. I use 8 lb with mono.On my drop shot rig,I use 10 lb Fluero.
  15. I use Abu Garcias and Quantums.I have 10 Abus and really love 'em.I've been using them since 1980.I'm going to buy a few Revos, but at present I'm using 5000's,5500's and a couple of 6000's.The 5500 is my favorite reel, and one in particular has hauled in much more than its share of lunker bass. It's only 15 years old,No problems with it.Add me to the posse.
  16. I wasn't referring to anyone bashing round Abu Garcias.Never even read your post to be honest.I just know that Abu Garcia reels are durable and wanted to make a comment about it.I'll take that chance on a Revo because you're right,it is my money.
  17. As a teenager,I once fished a local yokel tournament in a canoe!Boy,did I hear some laughs from the "pros" in their bassboats. My livewell was a cooler with a portable aeriater(sic).I did win biggest trash fish(a big 'ole jackfish...LOL).I had fun,and that's what counts for a teenager fishing a tournament in a canoe.
  18. I bought several FLW jigs @ .80 cents each, five bags of green punpkin FLW flippin' tubes @ $1.00 each, five bags of 3X lizards in gpumpkin @ $1.50 a bag,a Minn-Kota temp gauge w/ 10 ft transducer cord for getting temps a little deeper than surface for $4.00,and the last one beats the whole take.I am friends with the sporting goods dept. manager, and he had a Abu-Garcia Amb.5000 w/ a 7 ft Lighting rod combo. It had a tiny scratch on the reel.He told me he couldn't sell it with the scratch on it.To the point,he let me have it for $9.00.I was flabbergasted.
  19. I was very happy to see Coach Dungy win the big one. He's a class act all the way.Coach Smith is also a class act,and he'll win one eventually.Coach Dungy is not a man of the world but a man for the world.I've found in 26 years of coaching hs football that in the long run "character" teams hold it together when things don't go right (as they will every season to the best teams). On the other hand,"thug" teams generally fall apart and turn on each other with the first sign of adversity. When you allow a thug to have his way(ie. TO),it can tear a team apart.Congrats to a real gentleman and Christian(one of the few in the NFL).I'm also glad to see all of Peyton Manning's detracters having to shut their pie holes.
  20. I have several 5500's and 5000's that I've used for 10- 15 years with one or two minor problems that I fixed myself in about 5 minutes.Abu Garcia reels last as long or longer than many of the more "popular" brands.I know this first hand.As for the Revo,I've played with one at the local SG store, and it sure feels sweet to me.I'll be buying several of them really soon.
  21. I mainly fish out of a boat, but when I float a river or creek I use a canoe. For many years that's what I used everywhere and caught as many bass then as I do now.A bad back prevents me from using the canoe more often. It'll go places that a bass boat only dreams about! When I do float a creek or river,I keep it basic. No fancy electronics.A tackle box,two rod and reel combos,an anchor and rope, and a stadium seat for that bad back.
  22. Strike King Pro Model
  23. I use two types mainly: 1)Strike King Pro Model 2)FLW My favorite colors are blue,black,black w/ blue,green pumpkin,brown,brown w/ orange,and white.
  24. I like Strike King,Zoom,GYCB,and FLW.I voted Strike King because I tend to use their flippin' tubes and 3X products more than the others. These are all fine baits IMO.
  25. Depending on the season,I only use 15-20 baits.During certain times,I 'll only use 5-10.
