Wow,I thought I was the only guy in the world that listened to Mahogany Rush!And Trower was, and is one of my favorites.Definately head music !

For me the best is a Strike King Pro Model in solid blue with a brown Uncle Josh Frog trailer.

It would have to be the plastic worm or the Rapala Original Floater.

I used Gammys for years,but switched to EC LazerSharps and really prefer them.I use Daiichi Finese hooks for dropshotting.

Although I use a vertical presentation in certain situations,I mainly cast and use an ultra slow horizontal retreive.I catch 'em both ways.I never dreamed that I'd use the drop shot way down here in grassy,woody MS,but it is a great technique when they won't touch it anyway else.It's one of my favorite ways to fish.

I voted fishing with others.First,my cousin introduced me to bassin' in my teens.We fished together for years and learned alot about bassin' together.Secondly,When I got married, my father-in-law was a truly accomplished bass fisherman.He fished many regional bassin' tournaments.I learned and am still learning a ton about how to catch bass under many different circumstances from him.

I've hooked and lost two that sure looked 10+,but who knows for sure.One threw an Original Rapala floater that narrowly missed my ear.Last year I hooked another big 'un on a clear Tiny Torpedo.She broke that one off,but gave me back my lure a few moments later,shaking that big,ole head and loosing the bait.

He was talking about in once on a show and I dont remember exactly what he said, but it had something to do with his family and the rigors of the tour. Yeah, I went a little overboard on the last post...for some reason it just hit a button! And now we got someone calling Roger Clemens a 'fair' pro ;D ;D (The old man averaged 9 KO's per game and a 2.3 something era this year...better than fair huh?) Yeah,I know he is better than "fair".It's called a figure of speech.Hyperbole used to,in an ironic way, show how "great" he is.Sorry that one went over your head.I'll try to keep it a bit more straight forward from now on.

I subscribe to Bassmaster mag,Bass Times,and Bassin.I like all three.Bassin is probably the best of the three,but the other two are very good mags.Contrary to what I've read,Bassmaster has some good how to articles,and I like to keep up with the Bass tours.As for ads,there are ads in all of the bassing mags.They'd have to go out of business if they couldn't run ads.

I have a mid 70's Terry boat,and the fiberglass is still in good shape.Mine had a 50 hp Evinrude that was not worth fixing,so I put a new Yamaha on it.It's a boat that is all that I need for the kind of bassin' I do. $900 is a steep price to pay for it,though.I traded an old worn out 30-30 rifle for mine.I think you can get 'em to come down off of that price.

Both brands are fine products,I'm sure.I've always used Hummingbird products and am more than satisfied.I do have an Eagle Flasher unit and am pleased with it's performance.

It's truly an honor to have a legend of our sport join us to share his knowledge.I've always admired his opinions on bass behavior,and I'm looking forward to learning alot more about bass from Doug.Thanks,Doug, for gracing us with your presence on our forum,and a big thanks to Glenn for making it happen.

Did anyone think he'd go long without a boat deal?Even if he hadn't won a red cent or the AOY,he could pretty much have his choice of boat deals,IMO.

I think he is a good bass fisherman.He's won his share of cash over his career.As was mentioned earlier,he is 62 years old.He does about as well as a 62 year old Roger Clemens might do in the majors or a 62 year old Brett Favre(getting pretty close actually) might do in the NFL.I think you'd still have to say they are/were two pretty fair pros.

I use it for several different applications.The 20 lb test is fantastic for pitching/flipping.It's strong,abrasion resistant,and it pitches easily.

Trilene XL is about the best overall mono IMO.I also use XT and Big Game.Caught a lot of big fish on the Big Game with no break offs.

I've been using a 4" Senko on a drop shot rig with some success.I nose hook it with a #2 or #4 Diiechi(sic) finese hook.

I've had success in cold water with several different baits:C-rig using a finese worm,big deep diving crankbait in a crawfish pattern,jig -n- chunk,spinnerbait,suspending jerkbait,and drop shot rig using finese worm or 4" Senko.

I am a spinnerbait guy.I choose a certain brand of spinnerbait based on blade configuration and color,skirt colors,feel or balance,and ability to come through heavy wood cover without getting hung up.
