  1. I've always been an Ambassaduer man.They're not as high tech and as advanced;just a good,solid reel.I'm fine with a 5500.
  2. Sorry about the screwup. They are red with a wide streak of black down the back, and yes, they really do catch bass.
  3. I don't have a thing against Gary Y.He invented the lure so he can charge what he wants.I use Tiki-stiks because they are more affordable.
  4. Welcome! The previous posters couldn't have said it better.
  5. If not I need to visit a psychiatrist, cuz I've been posting on it fer the last 6 months...Lol
  6. SProg is my kinda basser.Culprit 7" Red shad is my most productive plastic.Buy a bag of 'em.While you're at it,buy a bag of Culprit grape shad. It's # 2 in my book.
  7. Welcome ,Wallz.I'm sure you'll enjoy this forum. There are a lot of anglers who know their stuff.I've learned quite a bit.
  8. Yeah, topwater baits early and late.
  9. I'd say a solid 6.During certain times,I might even go up a notch to a 7.I've been bassin' on and off for 30 years.I have a decent bassboat to fish out of with the electronics. The problem with me is that I do it only for fun.I have no illusions of being a tournament angler.Although I can worm, crankbait, jig, etc.I just like fishing lowlight situations with topwaters, jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits.
  10. A 25 HP Yamaha will scoot you on down the lake, and it does come in a tiller model. It'll run you around $2100.
  11. Yes ,they do school.Last fall I chased three seperate schools.I'd wait for the shad to bust the surface, then motor over and rip a jerkbait through. Each school's size was different. One school were yearlings, one was one pounders, and the third was a little bigger that the one pounders.caught eleven in about 30 minutes.
  12. Thanks for the help,guys.
  13. That's some good stuff, guys! I gotta get with the program on the C-rig.I have a question. When setting the hook is it similar to the way you do it with a T-rig or is it more of a sweeping motion?
  14. I like to fish like KVD,power fishing and throwing a thousand casts.Lately,I've been doing a lot of Carolina-rig fishing.I guess you could call it the"power " fishing of soft plastics.
  15. I much prefer fishing in a boat, but I had my best day(14 bass-smallest one was 2 lbs;hooked 7 more but they threw the bait) fishing on shore.Caught these bass in 1 1/2 hours.
  16. Bass will eat bass fry ,and yes baby bass pattern c-baits are working right now for me.
  17. Until I got my new outboard, just about every trip was a horror show.
  18. I guess if you're into tournament bassin' you need a big money rig.I would bet most members of this forum just fish for fun.I know I do.Basically, all you need is something to get you there and back. You'll also need a good trolling motor.I've got an old 15 ft. glass boat that I traded an old 30-30 rifle for.I put a new 25 HP Yamaha and a new MK All-Terrain TM on it and I'm ready to go.
  19. Mudd, that really puts things in perspective. Thanks for this post.
  20. Welcome! This is a forum with nice people and MUCH Bassin' knowledge.
  21. I fish early and late. Also ,I fish at night.
  22. Yeah,I hear ya ,brother.Caught one this morning in 3 hours of fishing !
  23. I fish from a boat and love it.Sometimes I fish off the bank before I go to work(to save time launching and loading the boat) and I love that too.Although I think you can cover a lot more water using a boat,My best day this year was a morning that I fished off of the bank.
  24. Mac,you have my respect.It takes a big man.
