Catt would you care to elaborate on that statement? That's a very large statement against a very large group of people.

For me flipping is easier with my 7'6" and pitching with one that is I think 6'11." It's just easier for me to pitch with the slightly short rod. However, I do prefer one that is over 6'6" for pitching. I have one that is 6'9" that works pretty well. Only problemm with the rods I have is I do lose sose some leverage if I am pitching into heavy cover. I think with flipping the added length is nice becuase the rod and help you control some the line you have out and put you that much closer to your target.

Catt I take no offense. Everyone has their own feelings and some people feel a flu shot isn't for them. Like everyone said the stuff that makes the flu shot is very natural and it comes from the dead virus(pretty natural). Alot more natural than most stuff in any type of processed foods. As for mutation I really don't know how much of an impact the shot has on that. If you really wanna know send me a PM and I can look into it but viruses are mutating pretty quickly on their own already and they are all over the world. Guys Muddy hit it on the head. There are alot of people that are at risk, especially for pneumonia. The idea is to try and reduce you risk. I understand alot of guys saying you don't want one because you've never had any flu symptoms. You do realize you are probably carriers and are spreading it instead of having it right? Another reason to get it is to prevent spreading it if you are someone who has a large contact with the public, especially if you are around people who have a higher risk for getting the flu. I just thought I'd pass long some info that might help some of you guys and remind others to get their shot again in case they forgot. Just a friendly reminder. If anyone is wondering, yes, I did get mine and will be from now on. Don't forget many pharmacies do them on a walk in basis if you are still looking to get one. Many pharmacists are trained to give certain immunizations.

BASS fisherman. Yes there are many strains but....the vaccine is for the one that is the most common for the current year. That's why there is a different one each year. So yes it is still possible to get the flu but it does help diminish the chances significantly.

Well Catt thanks I do look forward to being able to buy a new boat when I graduate from pharmacy school in 2012. Well probably a few years later since I might wanna make some progress on my loans first. But seriously, the current flu vaccines contain no live virus. The stuff that is put in the vaccine are just pieces of the virus' protein coat that triggers the body to make the appropriate defenses for the future. When people get sick what is happening is they arleady have the bacteria or virus inside them and the body turns some of its attention to the appropriate response for the flu vaccine. Therefore, the immune system cannot have 100% of its resources fighting off what ever you are getting. Or, you were about to get sick and it was gonna happen one way or the other.

Hey Red they have plenty of them this year. Last year there was a shortage but plenty this year. So...... everyone can get one. In case there was a shortage they do have a list of those that should receive a shot, like the elderly and those with certain physical conditions. Also you guys should consider the pneumonia vaccince.

Hey guys I just got to thinking its that time of year and thought I'd offer up a reminder to go get yours. I got inspired to post this after typing up my experience of recently helping with a local flu clinic. Couple things to consider 1. YOU WILL NOT GET THE FLU FROM THE SHOT. It's a misconception and if you get sick it is only a coincidence 2. They are not just for the old, everyone can benefit. 3. Even though you may be someone who doesn't get sick this will help prevent you from spreading the flu. 4. Probably most important every day you aren't sick means one more day on the water or one more day working to pay the bait monkey. These are just a few of the many reasons why you guys should go.

Hey I've actually seen 1 or 2 people selling the redneck camper. Every now and then 1 or 2 of those pop up on ATV sites. You get to trailer and camp.

atx_newbie let me welcome you to Chicago. Not too bad snow wise. Usually just alot of small snows under 6" and 1 or 2 good storms. However, be prepared for the cold. You guys might be complaining about snow but it's been a great way for me to pick up money over the years.

Two things Muddy: 1) What are you working on? 2) Being on BR isn't helping you with it. I know because I'm trying to get something done too.

Well I'll be studying for most of it but I think the weekend of Nov. 8th I'll be pulling the sleds out of storage. Can't wait to get some time off of school and hit the snowmobile trails.

I've seen between $3.50-3.69 here in Chicago. But, I'm sure its alot more downtown in the heart of the city.

Burley that episode matches a few friends of mine that play it. What's funnier is they said they know people that have almost turned into those guys in the show from it. Never played WOW but I guess the episode is very accurate.

I'm sure you could think of something involving fish. Two topics that come to mind are behavior and the effect of phamaceuticals. Pharmaceuticals have been coming about again because of drinking water but have been affecting fish for many years. Behavior you probably have a good jump on already. Nice poster/trifold board or a slide show and a small report. Let us know what you decide.

Google is pretty useful if you don't have a book. Since alot of my classes are designed to be mostly review a few teachers direct us to wikipedia. They say sure there is misinformation but we should be able to figure that out by now. It's been kinda useful since some of the stuff is easier to understand on wiki that in the books.

Books are expensive. I have no idea how much it would cost me other wise. I have 5 classes so that'd be 5 books all being science reference books. We've learned how expensive those are. Then most of my classes have atleast 5 lecturers so that'd probably be a few more books as they all favor different ones. I kinda think that is a major reason they give us everything we need in a handout. Obviously those are perfect, but those are the powerpoints the teachers use. They do charge somewhere around $150 for all the copying which is cheap compared to what it could be.

Well Tin I can take your online lectures 1 further. I'm in pharmacy school now and with the exception of one class we need no books. Everything they want us to know is given to us as a handout and then they are posted online. Additionally, one of the classes even records the lectures and posts them online. It makes sense because its one less thing for us to worry about but it was still a surprise to find out we didn't need any books. So I guess now all we have to do is study. They do give us a book list should we want references.
