Glad to know you and your wife made it out. Those radar channels can be unpredictable. I try to check a few different stations and online before I go fishing but sometimes it still don't work.

Welcome aboard and have you tried downsizing your jig. You can try trimming the skirt on larger jigs to make the profile smaller. I always use a jig, too.

Definitely braid. After a few hits, the only problem is trying to get it to float longer on days when the fish want a longer pause.

On the river, 2 to 4 and falling tide only. On the lake, 4 to 6 but I fish from 5am to 8am during the summer. Just for the morning top-water bite.

You are right but I believe if live bait was allowed in tournaments more people would use them. I would like to see stats over the years if it was allowed. Even on this forum, when people say they used live bait to catch a big fish some people say that's cheating.

Maybe I'm missing something here but it's got to be live bait. It's banned in tournaments. That's why plastic baits catch more.

x2, it don't really matter. IMHO, I think they are so aggressive trying to strike the bait that they will miss it.

Always a trailer hook. Most of the skirts I use have a few longer strands added to the skirt.
