I wanted to edit my post but there isn't an edit button nor an edit option anywhere on this page. Contol+F couldn't find the word "Edit" on the page either.
I just wanted to clarify that the reels I listed are just reels I had seriously looked at and that I have no idea if they actually backlash less than any other options in the price range... which is my primary concern and goal.

That's what happens when you match one of the best talent teams in college football with absolutely terrible coaching that should know better. Fire coach Day.
I watched that game & loved it when Auburn out smarted Bama. A true classic.
I'll be pulling for my buckeyes to beat Xichigan & go to the big ten championship against Oregon next weekend.

So I don’t wet the bed. lol.
Talking with my wife this morning about how well I slept last night. We are both in our mid 70’s. I remarked I only got up once to pee in the middle of the night & she said the same thing. That was a welcome change to the typical nightly interruptions. We both had the typical daily exercise for the holiday. My wife remarked the only daily difference was the turkey we consumed. We ate at normal dinner time. I know they say turkey consumption makes people sleepy after thanksgiving dinner. Do any of you notice a difference in your sleep pattern. I’m aware that turkey contains tryptophan, an amino acid that promotes drowsiness in greater amounts than the typical turkey consumption. What’s your experience?

That's exactly why you should be keeping largemouth bass not my beloved small mouths.
I have to do the same thing this summer. Good luck.

Only in California.
Rest up Catt.
Katie you should have stopped at 2024. How cool would that have been 2024 in 2024. Congrats on the year.

The bend on the Owner Zowire's has that aggressive/acute upturned angle at the very bottom. That aggressive/acute upturned angle kind of looks COOL and makes the hook look more modern and 'techy/cyberpunk-ish'. Kind of similar to aggressive angles on a modern sports car.
On the other hand, it also just looks weird and kind of 'off' for guys like me, who prefer a traditional round bend.
The turned in point & the upturned angle at the bottom you mentioned is the reason they are superior to round bend hooks. The turned in point grabs fish flesh faster just like a circle hook does. It then penetrates quicker than a round bend. And lastly that funky bend you talk about keeps fish hooked up better by not allowing the hook point to back out as easily. I change out all my treble hook baits with Owner zo wire hooks. It’s expensive but well worth the improved hookup ratio & reduced loss of catches. Also use a lure retriever when you get snagged. And if that doesn’t work wrap your braid around a piece of wooden dowel like a broom handle for pulling lose snags. Don’t tighten down your drag to do so because it just causes braid dig in on the spool & weakens the braid. It can also distort the spool.
I think I’m going to quit posting answers because there are so many smart anglers on this site they have already covered the question completely before I can contribute. Well thought out answer @A-Jay.
@T-Billy Your tearing them up this year Tim. Congrats.

Heartbreaking.
For me, the greatest era was Tom's prime, when bass in the upper teens were regularly caught and Dottie still swam.
Tom, if I buy one of your outfits, I'll want to mount it.
This is the period for me as well regarding largemouth. But right now is the most exciting period for smallies. The first 10lb smallie out of Lake Erie, all the recent 9lb catches from New York & the big smallies from Michigan & other Great Lakes states & all the recent state records being broken & the rise of Idaho as the destination for trophy smallies. The warming water trends across the US & increased food sources are contributing to the golden age of small jaws.
Caught a nice one fishing the Kissimmee chain.

And sure that point is valid that you CAN save money, but zero warranty. With the way quality control has taken a nose dive into a mess id rather spend the same or a few bucks more and get that warranty.
Not to disagree with your statement but I’m 76 years old & have been fishing for at least 60 +years. I have never had to exercise a reel warranty in my lifetime. I have always adhered to buying quality products over price so I don’t buy cheap reels. Buying JDM reels is a no brainer when the yen disparity is in your favor because the warranty is not important when buying quality products like Shimano or Diawa. Just my experience based on about 20 some JDM reel purchases.
I talked to a local guide last night. He said the last hurricane moved a lot of surface hydrilla into mounds. But the high water & redistributed hydrilla has scattered the fish. It is fishing tough right now with fewer big fish available.
The other solution is to tie your braid to a very small swivel & then your leader below that about a foot. The swivel’s I use are small enough to pass thru the tip top guide with ease.
