  1. Hey Goose your definitely on a roll. Once it starts you never know when its going to stop. Keep casting & order a couple more baits..
  2. Very nice bass. Look out 2012.
  3. A-Jay you might want to add a travel case to the rest of the new gear. The darkside must be mobile.
  4. You have been wacking Pigs all year. One more for the grandboy should not be a problem.
  5. WTG goose. With only three days left for 2011 that makes a nice linker to finish the year.
  6. That smile on Clays face tells me it might have been his favorite day too. Let Clay know I sent him a PM.
  7. Those are sweet looking fish paul. And that is a nice striper.
  8. She made a very nice christmas present. Beautiful fish as well, congrats!
  9. They are great reels & almost bulletproof. I picked up a 2000 & 2500 for $200 each a few year back & can't really see much difference compared to a friend older stella at twice the price.
  10. I picked up a new TBS71MF spinning rod to try out. My reason for picking this particular rod was to use it as a jerk bait rod on lake erie. I have fished with it four or five times bank fishing for bass in florida. It has been a good plastic bait rod. My reason for purchasing the rod was to find out if the K-series guides really do eliminate braid wind knots. I use predominately 10lb braid for smallmouths fishing on lake erie. Thin braid with lots of wind has been a major pain for me. I'm happy to report during my outings so far NO wind knots or guide wraps with this new rod. I would highly recommend the K-series guides to anyone having problems with braid/wind/knots. I matched the rod with a certate 2000 spinning reel. The rod intially felt tip heavy with the balance point right at the hook keeper. The new fuji reel seat felt strange at first but has become comfortable with use. The blank has plenty of power for landing bass in cover & helping to swing them up a graded bank for landing. I'm anxious to try it out on smallies next spring.
  11. Great outing. Your dad's pike has great girth for the length.
  12. A little help to keep you motivated thru winter. I was downloading some florida pictures & this was still on the memory card. Think spring.
  13. My favorite is a Gambler's big EZ rigged on a 5/0 owner screw lock hook.
  14. You can fish Presque Isle bay most days out of a 14' boat except for west winds over 10-15 mph. Think spring april & may. My first trip there I caught four over 4lbs, two over 5lbs & a 6lber. I thought I had died & went to smallie heaven!
  15. Try lake erie & widden your horizon. Should be within an hour or two at the most if your in NE Ohio. It sound like your local lake might have some good smallies in it.
  16. I would like to see some pictures of your dozen smallies over 7lbs caught in a single season. I fish erie and have had seasons where I have caught a dozen smallies over six pounds with maybe a single seven thrown in for good measure. I know lake simcoe is peaking right now & is an outstanding fisherie but lake erie is a great fisherie too. I know Canada has a lot of forest fires but the smoke trail drifting south is getting pretty heavy.
  17. They are more common than you think. We are just not catching them.
  18. I hope you get a new computer for your birthday.
  19. Looks like you had a great outing. Congrats.
  20. Hey Goose it looks like you poked a hole in that carps dorsal fin.
  21. WTG Jeff. I knew there was a smallie pb in your future.
  22. For 2011 I put two buddies on 6lb+ smallie pbs. Very satisfying. I tied my largemouth pb & got a nice musky, walleye & big channel cat. For 2012 I would like to see some other buddies get new pbs. Hint hint.
