  1. Cork. Either full or split grip. I like both.
  2. That's a toad for sure. Congrats on the fish & for thinking outside the box.
  3. When I'm concerned about a big fish jumping I always hold the rod to the side below parallel with the tip near or below the water . I just keep steady pressure on them slow reeling & stopping when they are pulling drag. You can't keep all bass from jumping but the slow side pressure keeps most of them down. Most of the time I am fishing deeper water without wood obstructions.
  4. Nice bass. Way to get stoked.
  5. You went from late iceout to that pretty quick.
  6. After i get the shorts I'm getting a blue shirt! Have fun at ICAST.
  7. WTG Mike & Robert. Looks like you guys has a lot of fun.
  8. Are the bass in the ponds you are fishing stunted? The last couple of posts you put up are showing long bass with big heads but no guts. Could be over populated ponds with declining food source. If true you might want to start removing some fish from the population to help get things back in balance.
  9. Yea but it's got cork handles.
  10. Your boys are catching some nice smallies. I'm sure they are both hooked.
  11. Very nice. You should be buying stock in Rage Tail baits company.
  12. Awesome.. That's a real nice smallie & picture.
  13. Hey Shane. Do you ever worry about one sneakin up behind you?
  14. Nice smallies. 22.5" is getting up there for sure. Congrats.
  15. Great outing. Funny how the old guys get ticked when they lose one. Used to happen to my dad & now it happens to me.
  16. Tom sorry to hear of your loss. He truly was a great well behaved dog that will be missed. I hope you find a suitable replacement.
  17. Look at the topic below yours. Killer curado deal.
  18. Good day. Its kinda cool catching a big bass that's blind in one eye. Just goes to prove they are still eating.
  19. Wind direction can have a strong effect on larger bodies of water. Sustained strong east winds will actually turn lake erie over by bringing the colder/deeper waters around Buffalo (eastern basin) to the warmer/medium deep waters of the central basin. The surface temps can drop 5-10 degrees. It does shut down the catching for several days to a week.. Strong west winds suck the water from the shallow/warmer western basin & leave some marinas without any water! This pattern happens seemingly every year. Sustain wind speeds almost always dirty the water & reduce visibility greatly. Normal winds speeds from the east do not really have much effect on my catch ratios. Sam, Rolo & Bassin_Fin@tic have all covered the topic pretty well.
  20. Hey Chris I knew that was coming He just had to leave the door open.
