  1. Great fish & pictures as always Chris.
  2. Two keepers in one picture. Great way to get her started.
  3. Probably 3-5 years with good management, Jeff. Like Big- O said you need to find a replacement pond y or z.
  4. Just as a friendly reminder. You can't mix tenths with ounces. Divide the fishes weight in ounces by 16 ounces( to the pound) to get the proper decimal. bflow_6's 8lb- 2ounces fish is 2/16 for 8.125 divided by 13lb -10 ounces is 10/16 for 13.625. 8.125/13.625x100 equals 59.63.
  5. Switch to braid & then you will have to use scissors.
  6. milepost43 I feel your pain. It has been the worst chance to fish lake erie this april I have ever seen. Very nasty conditions. But on the bright side when we do have a good day I hope we clean up. The smallies most definately have not seen any pressure yet.. Maybe they are as confused as I am regarding a spring pattern.
  7. Quit stressing. The answer is Presque Isle Bay off Lake Erie in Erie PA. Travel time from greensboro NC is 8hrs-58 minute totaling 541 miles. Excellent wading/kayak/canoe with rental canoes available. There is camping available or rent a motel for under $50 for two guys that's only $25 each per night.. Based on current water temps & our slow cold spring so far your timing for late May should be good. PM me if you need any help.
  8. Give them heck Joe. It will be a tough opener if the water doen't clear.
  9. That's a real nice pond fish.
  10. WTG. Nice win.
  11. A 4.5 & 6.5 one week after ice out is a pretty good outing.
  12. Sweet! I'll bet your father in law was wondering what's going on.
  13. Nice fish Bruce. Looks like the flats fish are/have moved into the canals.
  14. Texas jigging at its best. Great trip.
  15. Nice fish for those tuff conditions Shane.
  16. That why your handle is Fishes in trees.
  17. Is anybody else getting tired of this crappy spring weather? Its either cold, raining or blowing more than 20mph or its doing all three. Jeez give us a break.
  18. Might work OK. There is only one way to find out.
  19. Great trip & write up. Sometimes mother nature throws you a curve but the fishing turns out to be better than you ever imagined.
  20. I second the previous opinions. That is a very versatile rod. I have used use it for pike & lake trout throwing lures up to 1.5 oz & it does handle them very adequately. I'm sure it will work for toads & frogs.
  21. I have been using the owner wacky rig hooks in 1/0 & 2/0 for 5" senkos. Very good hooks with a green finish.
  22. Sounds like you guys have some real good ponds lined up. Hopefully you will close the deal on the next big one that bites.
  23. Sounds like a great outing. Late start doesn't hurt this time of year based on your results.
