  1. Well done!
  2. I use 10lb braid Suffix 832 or 131 on spinning tackle with mono leaders from 10-20lb depending on how much bottom contact I'm making. When using casting gear I use 10lb or 20 braid with the same mono leaders. I catch plenty of fish with the mono leaders so screw the flouro which I do not trust nor do I buy into it's benefits except it's sinking ability.
  3. Technically you would be in violation with a 5 fish limit because the conservation license only allows two bass in your possession unless there is a special exemption for tournaments.
  4. You will never regret buying the Certate.
  5. You probably will need a new unit but call Minn Kora & ask if yours is convertible.
  6. What model trolling motor do you currently have? I upgraded an existing Minn Kota terrova to spot lock by a simple exchanged part & new control module.
  7. The question is "did one ever answer".
  8. No the crisis just begins. Leave your windows down and the buzzards will probably eat your interior out.
  9. You can save a lot of money on new tackle with your new technique.
  10. Mullet most likely.
  11. I hope it works out for him. Sounds like he is getting some help & just needs a little more. Farm life can be extremely hard.
  12. Welcome aboard.
  13. I was bartender at the Inferno for several years. The only biker bar I remember was on the edge of town but like most college towns there was no shortage of bars in Athens.
  14. Well that makes three of us that grew up in Ohio. Akron/Cuyahoga Falls area for me. OSU fan for life even though I spent 4 years at OU in Athens. I fished Magadore & Portage Lakes mostly but did try Leesville & Caesar Creek plus spent some time fishing the western basin of Lake Erie & over in New York state at Lake Chautauqua while still living in Ohio before retiring & moving to PA to fish for smallies.
  15. @Captain PhilCatch & release tournaments are the answer. Any fish subject to riding along in a bass boat live well is probably toast at the end of the day.
  16. Lake Erie is always on the list. That makes 4 potentials.
  17. Looks like Shimano is bringing out a new Stradic.
  18. I would look for a rod that is rated medium heavy moderate action. Most MH are rated to 3/4 or 1oz weights. Most cranking rods fit these parameters.
  19. 5/0 & 4/0 are the only size I use. For some reason these hooks run smaller in size than most.
  20. I was so pleased two days ago when a tropper with lights flashing passed me. He actually pulled over an idiot in the left lane that was going to slow & causing all traffic to pass him on the right.
  21. Spent the day down in the keys with my wife celebrating our 53 year anniversary.
  22. Just getting out is a good day. But a day with a 5lber plus is more memorable. A 7lber plus large mouth or 6lb smallmouth is a great day. @king fisher I like your definition of starting the day with your favorite bait and never having to change if for the whole outing.
  23. My experiences with the original WP was with the Joe Bucher Top Raider made to target musky & pike. They were a hit or miss bait. The fish had to be in the mood or they didn’t work. But when they did they crushed them especially bigger fish. For me the WP works the he same. It either is hot or it’s not but you have to keep trying to find out. I like the bone color & black (Loon) color the best. Like Katie will attest they are deadly slow trolled behind your boat. The reason for that is because the fish can track it longer before committing. I think it aggravates fish more than it represents a coot or duckling.
  24. Your on a big fish roll. Keep it up.
