  1. Thanks for the reply...I am going to get either the Curado, or the Quantum , or the Pfleuger tomorrow 5:1...gear ratio. I also have a rod ready, so just need to finish it off. Thanks again- Jamie
  2. IKE AND THE G-MAN...What a blast of a day that'd be. "NEVER GIVE UP...."
  3. Any comparison between the citica and curado? Am interested in both for 5:1? Thanks- Sorry to post here but seems logical. Good luck with your new baitcaster, I as well am getting a new one for Father's Day.
  4. Heading up the 22nd-25th and psyched about the trip. Fished there last few years and hammered them at, and South of Ticonderoga. Fishing 3 and a half days on Champlain... PRICELESS! Love to meet anyone at the ramp Sunday the 22nd at 1st light...White Yukon and Blue Stratos....names Jamie- Take Care
  5. I am looking to get a new reel, and have just started getting into crankbaits. I read that a 5:1 ratio will give a slower presentation, and is one that most sites seem to recommend...as well as for slower rolling spinner baits, etc... I was looking at the Shimano Corado, and it's the CU200DPV Model. This has 5 bearings, and seems to be a great reel for the job. I have always fished Quantum baitcaster, and recently got a Pfleuger Trion, and it's awesome, so I have been around baitcasters, but have not been as educated as I'd like to be. Is the 5:1 a good overall crankbait reel, and would you recommend the Shimano Corado 5:1. I looked on Bass Pro Shop, and am eager to buy. Thanks for the help. I have made crankbaiting a personal goal for the season, and any help you could give, I'd greatly appreciate it. Good Fishing- Jamie Boyertown, Pa
  6. Strike King- Chartruse with a bleeder hook right from Walmart. I had caught more bass on that top water bait than any other. Usually pick up one or two a trip to Walmart. Can't beat the price.
  7. Jigs are one of my main goals this year. I am hoping to have an experience...like that. I never throw them, and hope to grow as an angler this year, as it relates to jig fishing. Congrats on your cool evening of jigging!
  8. Caught this up at Lake Champlain- 4lb. 14 oz. on Baby Brush Hog (green Pumpkin) on 1/8 oz. spiderr head (Slider Hook) and Jacks Juice Crawfish Flavor. Very proud Moment for me...caught my previous biggie (4lb 11 oz.) 100 yards away the year before. , on the same set up. Sweet spot---hope to hit it again round June 22nd...maybe we could meet up? PM me if interested.
  9. $300,000- Wow! I better be sure to read the fine print... Fishers of Men is still $100,000 as I last read this years rules and regs. Thanks for the info. Jamie
  10. Caught my personal biggest on Lake Champlain ...a 4 lb. 14 oz. Largemouth. Was a proud moment for me. Baby Brush Hog- Green Pumpkin on a 1/8 oz. Spider Hook and jacks Juice- Crawfish
  11. Problem was line got wrapped around back of prop, and caused a seal to melt, which caused some problems. I don't mean repair that is normal, but accidental, type stuff. Sorry about the 3 posts, but came to me after I posted each one. Good Luck. Jamie
  12. As far as deductible, we have a $100.00 deductible for accidents and repair. Good thing, because this year as I put her away, they found some problems, and they came to 1700.00---ouch, for a single income family, and a not so happy wife. I only turned in the claim on my boats guys suggestion, otherwise, I would not have even though of doing so. Bottom line is we only paid out 100.00. Was very sweet.
  13. Most tournaments I have fished only require a $100,000 liability coverage. I don't think we pay more than 150.00 a year, on our 1996 18' Stratos with a 175hp on back. We are through Erie insurance here in PA. Hope that may have helped a little?
  14. Boyertown Pa here. Fish the Fishers of men Series----and try to hit other local tournaments. Send a PM if near the area! Jamie
  15. My goodness---- he just asked where the honey hole was (kinda seemed like he wanted us to visually dissect a map)....I am letting this one alone, has no positive outcome for me to continue reading. Good luck all---hope you catch the lunkers , wherever they may hide on this lake. Peace, and Good fishing to all!
  16. I thought it was a cool post! After Horton won at Champlain- guys fished the same area the next few weeks, and caught zilch!!! Keep em' coming.
  17. Seems like a cool post- got me thinking. Find it yourself...nice replies!!! I forgot, we are all fishing for $1,000,000 I though this was a resource site? Sorry- but get annoyed with replies after awhile. If i knew the best spot on the lake--i'd tell ya, what to use, and best times to fish! Peace, and great fishing. jamie
  18. That's good advice fishin_fool. Could you imagine a day with KVD, IKE, or Skeet Reese? I personally would love to rock out with the G-Man for a day. Great advice.
  19. Got them here in pa too... OK---- I confess, I took the picture at a zoo...OK!!! I would have gotten away with it , if it wasn't for you meddling kids!
  20. Some useful info....I did it!!!!!! Thanks for the replies.
  21. Have been playing around on his site, and have found that he's got some great, in depth, longer video to view. Was watching buzzbaits, spinner baits, and even a cool one on Drop Shotting. Quality site, check it out. http://www.kevinvandam.com/ Just passing along a cool place to visit. 8-)
  22. I'd gladly meet ya up at Ticonderoga, and head out come Late June. Just say when. I will fish for free!!!!!! Just split any gas on the water. Champlain Rocks!!!!! PM me if you need a couple starter spots----not secrets, just spots that have been productive! Jamie
  23. What an undertaking- you should be super proud...it will be awesome on the water. Good Luck fishing!
  24. Makes you just stop and think. What blessing we have, and how in an instant they can be thrown upside down. Thanks for the posts, those pictures made a big impact on me and my day. God Bless all who are affected by these rains, and floods.
