LBH, I just noticed something from your post. the sun dolphin pro only weighs 225 lbs. it has a person weight capacity of 649 lbs.

no need to call me names. im not crazy. i would love to get a used jon and modify it. i will repeat myself again, i cant find a used 12 ft jon that has a weight capacity of 650 lbs like this boat does. yes a jon is cheaper and lighter but for some reason they wont handle a lot of weight.

yes the jon is cheaper, but the sun dolphin has a higher weight capacity and a 60 in beam.

i dont know what kind of money you are wanting to spend, but you should checkout basscat boats. http://basscatowners.yuku.com/forums/66. this link will take you to a bunch of boats for sale. i think you can get more for your money with these boats. hope this helps.

i dont own one yet, but im seriously considering it. i googled the boat and found a few write-ups and everythimg has been good so far. it is stable enough to stand and fish in. plus it has a higher weight capacity than most other boats the same size.

well i didnt do so good, but i had lots of fun. my buddy caught 3 small bass and i caught a good size crappie on a spinnerbait and then a 5 lb cat on a brush hog. oh well had a good time.

it only matters what the boat is worth to you. if it is the boat you want and you are willing to pay the price, then it is worth it. sure you may not be able to resell it and get your money back, but that doesnt mean the boat is not worth that price to you. he wants 3100 you were gonna offer 2300. meet him in the middle if you like the boat. by the way, i have a different perspective on the way i look at what things are worth. it comes from drag racing, so im used to spending more on something then i will ever get out of it.

im a fat man at 360 lbs. im trying to find a jon boat that i can deck so that me and a buddy can fish out of. problem is that all the 14 ft boats have a capacity of 3 people and like 400 lbs. even the 16 and 17 ft aluminum bass boats only have a capacity of like 480 lbs or something close to that. besides losing weight, any suggestions on what to do? thanks

who knows. i was mainly just curious if a boat will run 10 mph with a 5 hp motor, then how big and how many trolling motors would it take to accomplish the same speed, if it can even be done.

its strange. if im not mistaking, a jet engine produces thrust but is measured in hp.
