thanks for all the tips guys i just have one more thing to ask. how do you handle weeds if there is no "weedline"? weeds at different depths?

i know a ton of people have a bunch of success with using crank baits, but i can never seem to produce any bass with any type of crank other than a rattle trap >. i would appreciate any beginners tips or info that is workin for your success with crankbaits!

one of my friends has a lot of success on a black and blue laminate GYCM senko. a plain black *** trickstick does well too for dead stickin

I would laugh my butt off watching somebody try to reel above water with head underwater watching the bait, with goggles on. Why not just watch it from above? ;D lol hey dude, laugh all you want but its COOL watching em from underwater. you get to see how the lure swims without the distortion from ripples and waves on the water's surface. and you dont even have to stick the rod out of the water. most of the time i just had the rod and reel underwater with me. oh and use a snorkel too so you can watch it longer i gotta try that sometime lol

helps a lot especially if your sight fishing or their is a large glare. i see them as a necessity

stupid ? but, say i wanted to practice retrieves in my next door neighbor's pool. would any of the chemicals in the water damage my line or reel?

trilene xt is a great tough line. what ever line you decide to buy get some KVD line and lure. its a necessity

cory i think that would work on a straight hook ( no shank) on an off shank hook it wouldn't work. (i think that is what you are asking)
