What colors do you use for jigs in clear water, and do you downsize the weight just as you downsize other lure sizes? Thanks

I have only fished in a boat a few times in my life and I was just curious if there was anyone out there who wouldnt mind a back seater once in a while so I could practice fishing from a boat in real Arkansas Lakes. You are so limited when it comes to practicing techniques and fishing from various depths from shore. Once I leave for the Air Force at the end of the year I hope to buy a Bass Tracker and start tournament fishing in a few years. Thanks for Reading, Nick

Thanks for the replies, I guess I will have to shell out the money for the Compre. I would buy the BPS Rod but I have never had a shimano...anything. Do you think that setup of 7' MH Fast would be good for most applications besides certain soft plastic rigs?

I'm about to buy my first semi high end setup of a (Citica/Shimano Rod) and was wondering if any of you have tried either of these rods. The Compre 7' MH Fast is around $100.00 and has IM8 Graphite, where as the Convergence 7'0 MH Fast is around $50.00 and is made with IM6 Graphite. Do you think there will be much of a quality difference as far as sensitivity and being able to feel subtle takes. I need all the help I can get! Thanks for any input! Nick

Bill Dance Quantum Baitcaster, ive heard people talk about line memory but what exactly is it? When im fishing the line seems fine, it was just a pain to spool, and coils up a bit without any tension unlike other lines ive used.

Does anyone use Trilene Big Game? I bought a spool the other night but it seems like it coils up on me a lot. I could barely even re-spool my reel, but I also havent used 20lb line before either. I was just wondering what other line you would suggest around the same strength. Also, does the color of the line really matter, and which do you prefer? Thanks!

I just started fishing Jig N Pigs and all of my bites have been the "Im taking you out to the deep end with me!" I have yet to master plastics and feeling bites but the more I go, the better I become I suppose.

Hey Everyone, I am in need of another reel and I see that shimano is offering 50$ rebates on Curados and $30 rebates on the Citicas. I was thinking of buying a citica but was wondering if any of you have one, if you do like it, and which version should I buy. I was just wondering how long (Minutes)you guys will fish a lure before you decide to switch to something else if nothing is biting, and do you try a different color before switching lures? I just wanted to hear everyones opinions to see if I might be sticking to something too long that just isnt going to work. Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome. What would you guys consider one of the top mono lines out right now, of course they all say "im the best". I have Stren, Vanish, and Trilene XL (All 10lb) in my bag right now and i cant really tell a difference

Have any of you used this line? How well can you see the color in the sunlight, and does it really "vanish" in the water. If you havent used it, what is your favorite line. Thanks
