  1. I like to throw crankbaits over top of the growing grass. I also like to pitch a jig to structure, and on a good windy day a spinnerbait bite can't be beat.
  2. Let me know how you do. I have a tournament coming up soon. Where are you going to be launching out of?
  3. Where do you fish in Culpeper??

  7. I don't usually loose too much money in lures/poles or anything on any outing. The most I have ever lost was about $20.00 worth in lures, however this year already I have broken 3 poles all in seperate outings but they were junk anyway.
  8. If you are not going to buy the Nitro send me a pic and some info on it. I may be interested. PM me please
  9. Barely A Wake Cheap Thrills Chub Tub Little Guy Slippery When Wet Stubbie Tub Toy Some I came up with and some I found online...
  10. I use just regular Gorilla Glue (Carpenters Glue)for my carpet if it starts to peel up. I had to use it once last year and it is still holding strong, and its cheap.
  11. Nice Fish!!!!
  12. I'll take it. If no one else needs it. I could always use an extra for my jon boat
  13. I took a buddy of mine out to a private lake about 85+ acres and we decided to change things up. The guy I took is my usual tournament pertner and since the river wasn't doing so well we decided we needed a change. Well today was his day. His second fish of the season and it was a nice one. About a dozen or so casts into the day he hooked a 8.1lb bass. He had been messing with me on the majority of his casts so I didn't believe he was actually hooked up until I saw the fish. The worst part was the fish didn't fight at all... I know its cold but I wanted to see my buddy get all worried that he was going to lose it. We weighed it and took a few pictures and released her for another day.
  14. This is his rig... http://www.basszone.com/2008quickflips/reese1.htm
  15. I passed Scott Martin last year I was on my way out to fish the Potomac River and I saw his rig so I drove by him and he looked like he was sleeping in the truck. Maybe since he is a member of this site I can challenge him... HAHA ;D
  16. Throwing a Rage Tail Frog or Shad across the matted grass. The blow ups are awesome!!!!
  17. Theres only two in my family... I'm the freshwater fisherman and my dad is the saltwater guy. I've tried to take him out but he likes the "lazy" way... sitting and waiting on a bite.
  18. HAHA I was the same way until I figured it out. As for y0ur question about creature baits. If I am trying to punch the mats I will use a 1-1 1/4oz weight. If I am fishing the grass edges I will C-rig a lizard or a Yum Craw Papi. I will also just throw a Yum Craw Papi on a jig head and even a shaky head. I like it weightless as well I just let the fish tell me what they want. If I don't do very well on that I like to throw the frog or shad. If the frog and shad are producing blow ups but no hook-up I will take a Rage Tail Craw and throw it the same way I would fish a frog but slower. The craw won't drop down throught the grass if rigged weightless and it produces a good wake like the frog or shad. but hook-ups are much easier. As for the beds.... If you have very clear water and there is hole in the grass.... That is a good place to start. I don't punch mats when there are holes. These holes are great producers!!!!
  19. I fish the Potomac River, Lake Anna, and many different smaller lakes around Fauquier County, Va.
  20. How do you do in Potomac Creek? I've heard some good things and promised myself I'm going to fish it this summer. Also anyone fish Quantico Creek much? Thats another one I want to put a little time into Potomac Creek is okay.... not nearly as good as Aquia but when the bite is hard in Aquia it is usually on in Potomac. Fish the grass mats on the right side of the creek around the docks and the wall. If you fish Potomac creek you will know what I am talking about. As for the "push pole" I bought a 2" diameter 10' rod and I took some old scarp metal and made my own. Total price was about $10.00
  21. That is a great price for the Nitro. I have the exact boat same year and everything. I listed mine for 7500 on craigslist and 6000 on here just because I want someone to get some good use out of it. The Nitro is a great boat. If you are not happy with your old boat then buy it, but if you are happy then stick with your boat.
