  1. Green pumpin. Works everywhere.....! 8-)
  2. Yup can't go wrong with either of these! 8-)
  3. +1000 best reel for the price.....
  4. I would go with dobyns 704 with a core 100 mg.....! I would go with like 30lb braid and just tie leaders depending on application.
  5. Anything really but I vote savvy too! 8-)
  6. Think about when you reel your line in your reel gets wet from the drops on the line. Why would rain water be any different? I am sure that when reel manufactures build a reel they figure that since your fishing in water that the reels should have some tolerance to it. 8-) Let's not sweat the small stuff!
  7. Do a search...! It seems like this topic has came up many times. You can find lots of old topics that cover rods and line sizes and what people prefer.
  8. I have both as well. The 100mg is a more all around reel. You can use it for pretty much anything except deep cranking and swimbaits. The 50mg I think shines with finesse baits. It casts light stuff really well. I have mine pared up with a dobyns 702dx and use it for shakey heads, dropshot, and tubes. 8-)
  9. Live down the street from Hi's. You don't have to worry about ordering from them. They have great service. 8-)
  10. Just was at the tackle shop earlier playing with the 6'8" mh. I put a core 50 on it and was blown away with the total weight. The rod is pretty plain but I think it's because they tried to save weight. But the feel is way better than the look IMO.
  11. Also had both just sold my old one the fivebasslimit. The new one I feel is alot better casting wise. Also the drag actuall tightens all the way down. They advertise 20lb drag compared to I think maybe 10 on the old ones. Also the grips feel reel comfy and the handle feels more solid. I think they did a good job with the new premier. I actually think this one is worth the price tag. 8-)
  12. I picked up the 766 savvy flip rod a couple weeks back. I went with the savvy cause flipping I feel you don't need the most sensative rod. This is my 8th dobyns rod. I have 5 champs and 2 extremes. To be honest with you I feel like you can't go wrong with any of these rods. Hope you like your rod when you get it.
  13. Seagur floro is the best around...! Invisix is my fave. 8-)

  15. I think in terms of rods less is definately better. I remember the first rods I had they had about four inches of fore grip. You couldn't even touch the blank by the reel seat. I think by reducing materials on the blank definately adds to sensativity and weight reduction. If it was a gimmick it would never have become standards throughout most rod companies. I think the people that say it has no affect from rods with full grips probably haven't spent the time with a top of the line split grip rods and are just reluctant to change. Personally I wasn't a fan at first either buy after using them for a season now 10-14 rods I own are split grip. The only reason I have full grip rods are swimbait rods that have ling handles that I stick under my arm as I retrieve.
  16. I got the 766 a couple weeks ago. Had it out a few times and really like it. The flipping bite isn't the greatest yet but give it a month and it will be on fire. This is the only savvy I own and the balance is great with a zillion or chronarch d7. Must suck to live in places where the water gets hard in the winter. What a bummer.
  17. I've seen em from $250-285 depending on condition
  18. It's definately a very versatile reel. You can use it pretty much for any technique except maybe big swimbaits.
  19. Well that rod will not be the best for the any of the applications you listed. Maybe the spook but that's bout it. You might want to do a little more research to fit the techniques you mentioned.
