Jon boat or canoe?
this debate can go on and on with no real conclusion, there are just way to many parameters to factor in for an answer in which equals right or wrong, better or best. If you like the idea of a canoe then get one, or a jb for that matter. To each his own.

Jon boat or canoe?
Im jumping back in here, Im not sure if you made your choice and I really dont know what your needs are....if your fishing alone and thinking of buying new, take a very good look at the Adirondack Sportsman Series from Great Canadian, the width on these are wider then some JB's and the capacity is greater then some JB's up to almost 14ft. Now Im not down playing the role of a JB but I've owned both and like I mentioned before, If I go JB again it would have to be 14ft. But if Im pulling solo fishing trips more, I'd go canoe. No Doubt. http://www.greatcanadian.com/canoes_sport.html

Do you like Pfluger reels?

Optima batteries
I couldnt agree more, I usta run the surf w/ a pick-up and slide in camper, I ran dual Op's in the truck and a set of duals for the camper that would charge under the alternator, I could sit for days on end under battery power and never ever worry about cranking the truck over. I run a DieHard Marine battery for my TM and I havta say it's never let me down.

First impressions of my new GLX
Thers a couple places on ebay you can buy on sale, OhYaSales is one but be careful, email them 1st and make sure they have the rod advertised in stock(happened to me) and the other is SimmonsSportingGoods(where I got mine) both offer free shipping on select models and have Great prices, Simmons will match anybody. I've fished with BPS rods for several years and until I held a G.Loomis rod in my hand and fished with it, I would've never thought I'd pay that kind of money for a single rod, but I'll tell you this, theres NO turning back now. I love the way my Loomis rods feel over any BPS rod I've ever owned. But I wont call them garbage, they served me well, many fish over.

Which do you prefer?
I actually use 2 different set-ups 1st G.Loomis BCR802MXF MossyBack w/ Curado 200 2nd Custom Lamiglas 5'4" Dock Skipper w/ Pflueger Supreme 8030mg both serve thier purpose well.

St Croix LTB spinning rods
It's the "Skippin'" rod of the LTB line-up. It should be perfect for skipping around docks and stuff. Absolutly, this is an ideal rod for that...I have a custom lamiglas 5'4" rod I made for that purpose alone, but now that my daughter is fishing more with me she uses it, its a perfect fit for her. Was thining about this soloy for me...

St Croix LTB spinning rods
I was at my LTS 2day and he has a LTBS510MXF spinning rod on the rack, I traded off my saltwater gear with him and I have a few hundred on credit. The rod is last years 07 (non split grip) and he's willing to let her go for $150 in credit, retails for $210. Anyone with one? And is she worth the credit trade? Thanks.

Got me a New Boat and Gave it a Partial Makeover!!!!!
hey BassMaster_17, There's a product out there call Vertglas Gel Coat Restorer that will absolutly amaze you....this stuff is worth every penny you'll pay for it. The wife and I purchased and old Hurricane Deck Boat several years ago and came across this stuff at a local marine store, made the purchase and went home and went to work. The process will take you a weekend but the results will make your boat look brand new. BTW...You did an awsome job.

Jon boat or canoe?
Im not to sure about the 12ftr you speak of, but I owned a Great Canadian 16ft Sportsman Series, this was incredibly stable and as wide as my 10ft JB. My older brother and his wife own it now and they use it in the salt ponds and inlets here in RI. When I fished alone, I had no trouble moving about the canoe. I liked my canoe but thats a tuff choice for me. I think if I had a bigger JB it wouldnt be an issue. Think I'll go 14ft next.

Rhino Lining vs Carpet

Dock Skipper choices
Im considering a new spinning rod for dock skipping because I cant pry my custom Lamiglas out of my 6 yr olds hands. I love my new Loomis rods but noticed some real nice alternitives as in the Kistler "dock skipper", Powells 6ftr and others. Any thoughts from these users would be great. Thanks.

buying a rod online
check with www.fishusa.com I've bought alot of my ice-fishing gear from them, they're pretty good n quick to ship, never a problem.
-
What rod and reel did you catch your PB with?
my P.B was a 6lb even on a Shimano Spirex 2000 strapped to my 5'4" custom Lamiglas fiberglas dock skipping spinning rod, she hit a texas rigged black shad Culprit worm, I never knew she was there she jus took it swam away, then BANG.

Will Loomis?
ok so I jumped on the Loomis bandwagon this year, after never thinking I'd spend more then $200 a single off the shelf rod Im totally pleased with my purchases, and I hope to god they dont lower the quality to make them look pretty....and yes I've owned and still own custom rods......but I love my Loomy's

Read this review LOL
he is talking bout Stripers, not sure how many of you guys fish salt water but I did for many years, a 15 to 20 pound on light gear is a hell of a rush. On an old friends boat I always brought a fresh water set-up with me just for schoolies.....lotta fun.
