  2. Its going to be a warm one this week.. FINALLY.. lets see how the action picks up!!!
  3. I did pretty well last night.. I took two rods, one for bluegill and the other for bass. i managed to bring in a few nice LMB which was 17" and a fatty and another at 16" and a fatty. The bluegills were hitting well but im not thinking they were bedding up yet. Water temps were 70 degrees and the actiaon slowed tremendously after the sun went down and the surface temps dropped to 68..
  4. what will be fishin for mr. A-jay????

  8. yeah this global warming stuff is really getting outta control.. Im scared for my child!!!!!.. i seem to have lost my pants again... anyone seen them?
  9. Tough day fishin on Friday.. Pressure was droppin and it wasn't good. I only brought in one fish where I have previously brought in some nice Pike and strangley enough I only brought in one LM there. As i left though I was paddling through the swamp where the river breaks up into several channels and I heard a few splashes. So I through on a white buzzbait and brought in a Pike on the first cast. on the 3rd or fourth cast I watched another Pike go after it from about 15-20 ft away. I watched the wave of the water get closer an closer to the bait which was very cool. I caight a few nice LM on the front lake but that wasn't quite as exciting as the Pike experience.
  10. Hey A-jay.. Im doing the trek upstream again.. Im going to fish the first lake pretty hard then head farther up to get into the Pike.. Im looking to catch dinner for tomorrow..!

  12. a-jay... it's... "i've always been crazy, but it keeps me from goin insane" - thats a Waylon song SON! still haven't found my pants.... u seen em? Where are they? I wish I'd find em >
  13. thats EXACTLY what I was going to say. I was killin the bluegills last year on the fly. I actually didnt use a nymph of any kind, just the popper, seemed to work great. catchin gills on a flyrod is a riot and a sure meal!!!
  14. I have fished from a yak for a few years and I personally love it. I go where no one else does and that in itself is enough reason to get a yak to me. I looked at the sit on top yaks and they just aren't for me. I prefer to stay lower and I need storage space. I chose the Old Town Predator 140. It has tons of room, a nice anchor system and few nice storage features and it is very wide and much more stable than I had anticipated. It tracks extremely well but turns better than you'd think a 14ft yak would turn. I also have intentions of taking my young son in this with me in a few years and I will undoubtedly have no issues with fitting him in there with all of my equipment. I also have plans of doing an overnight trip in it this summer and it seems I will have plenty of room for storage for everything I will need. Good luck out there.
  15. I see everyone's complaints about them being bony but the bones can be very easily removed. Once you do it once you will be a pro at it thereafter and you dont lose too much meat. In my opinion I'll choose to eat a fresh pike over a Walleye anyday.. watch this guy.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcWyGrV0qao
  16. i've seen A-Jay's rig up close and that dude has one nice set up with some really cool custom features..
  17. yep... the x-rap shad will doo exactly what he is looking for.. I wa amazed at how well it stayed suspended...
  18. nice.... Im headin out tomorrow.. I had planned on going saturday morning but the flu had other ideas... :'( you really seem to be bangin those smallies up there in those parts.. come on down here for a LM and Pike fest!!
  19. dude... that is a REALLY nice fish... what else ya get????????
  20. im kinda puzzled on this... i have never had this happen on a uni to uni...
  21. I second this... I have the pirahnamax 215 and love it.. Battery life coudl be better but that is just me being picky..
  22. hahaha... yeah .. what can I say.. they must be photoshopped ;D
  23. have you decided on your blank yet? Ill take a look at David Green's rods to see what you are talking about.
  24. I found them on their beds yesterday... it was a great time but I am in Mid Michigan.. I fished in northern michigan on saturday and didnt see any bedding just yet..
  25. Im using a Pirahnamax 215 Portable but in a Kayak and so far I really like it. I even used it on the ice this past winter. The only downfall I have found with it is the battery life isnt as long as I would like.
