  2. next time i go i will have my fishing partner to lookout for me. I was trying to troll through last time but my trolling motor kept getting clogged with hydrilla.
  3. thats the thing i heard from the lady at the campgrounds. That kenwood didnt have security and there have been reports of smash and grabs. So i thought twice about heading that way. It being my first time in there i was real easy about boating through the stumps. And i didnt have a second person with me to kind of spot for me. I have a long 21 day stint at work but as soon as i get back im heading out there! I cant wait
  4. Ive been once. I launched somewhere that spit me out in the middle of the stump field it took me quite a bit of time to make my way to the channel. there was alot of vegitation and what not i had to motor through. I paid a few bucks to launch there. There may have been a camping area on site. What was that area i launched at? I would prefer to start out closer to the canal or channel.
  5. I second that. I live in the area also so far my best luck has been in swimming pen creek out of doctors lake.
  6. NAtural color worms. What else seems to work out there bait wise? Are you carolina rigging worms in the deep water? Fishing cranks or what? Any info you can give will be great!

  11. Welcome to the green cove area. I live just across the river from you in Orangdale, i have been MIA from the board here for a while and i havnt had my boat out in a couple months, but so far my best luck has been in swimming pen creek off of doctors inlet. I have yet to catch a Bass in the Main river but im still learning!
  12. last time out with my spook jr i had a fish hit it throw it in the air, hit it again when it landed then hit it a 3rd time in which i felt the weight and nailed her! lot of fun to watch.

  16. Yeah it was at the camp ground! Is there a better place to put in? without dealing with so much grass, and a stumpfield. I was trying to stay away from using my motor so as to not hit a stump, and the trolling motor was getting clogged up left and right! Next time im just gonna run my motor through it!
  17. So is stick marsh in rodman res? I went out last week came out of a ramp in middle of a stump field and the barge canal is to the right? -Randy
  18. Yeh be careful when treble hooks are involved especially lol

  20. Wild shiners? Do you net these? Whats the technique to catching? -Randy
  21. WHat kind of graph do you use? I have a hummingbird sonar, and a lowrance gps/sonar unit i am guessing neither of these will have that? -Randy
  22. You definately dont need a bunch of rod reel combos for just starting out.. I started with a 6 6 medium with a 39 dollar abu garcia reel and even though i traded the rod out for a gander mountain bass tournament rod its still my fav setup.... I have a 7 ft med heavy fast action rod with a daiwa procaster rojo and the cheaper spinner setup is still my go to baby! Its been more about bait, location and time of day to me so far but def read all the articles i have learned so much GOOD LUCK ! I caught my first bass couple months ago, and its gets better everytime out and i have not looked back! -Randy
  23. And i thought i was the king of getting attacked by trebles!!! Last week i had a muscle shirt on, and i had a dang aruku shad fling up and catch my underarm OUCH!! on the same day i had it catch my thigh then i stepped on a d**n swim bait!
  24. Headed out to what has become my usual favorite place. Doctors lake. Its off of the St johns river up north of green cove. Its a 15 min ride to the ramp and a 10 minute ride to where i start fishing usually. I was there to try out the new zara puppy <black shiner> and zara spook jr in some kind of glitter bass color, and a zara spook <baby bass> On my last outting i had largemout every 3 to 4 mins hitting bait pods all around me but couldnt get them to bite anything, i through everything in my tackbox at them. Road warrior had recommended a spook to get them to bite! Well i got out this morning at 640 a little later than i wanted but that was fine... Was out for 2 hours and got 4 keepers and for me thats awesome!! i am so used to being out all day and only haveing one fish but i was still happy with that! I gotta say the spook is my most favorite bait period its alot of fun to walk the dog with that thing and i had one bass come up and nail it and the bait flung like 3 ft in the air and i let it rest and started walking it again and again he nailed it same thing, and on the 3rd hit he took it so i took him!! What a blast!! I am so hooked! ;D
