  1. WELCOME.
  2. This is a Bass that I caught at Black Lake, NY 5+lbs. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m230/HEFFERONE/SUNNYSIDE-142.jpg
  3. Rapala once had a Goldfish lure that was either a Shad Rap or Countdown used to have some never caught anything. I may have some yet packed away somewhere but not interested in looking for them. Chow
  4. 2006 was a good year for me. Fishing Black Lake, NY was a great experiance for me anyone that lives in NY or the surrounding states have not fished this lake they should it is a Largemouth Heaven. Chow
  5. I know the hook in finger as well. Don't know how you got yours out I just wiggled mine around till it popped out. There was a little pain but I wasn't coming off the water for hook removal. Chow
  6. I think BASS made a mistake when they went to the new Elite format and the $5,000 entry fee before all you had to be to fish a tournament was be a BASS member and pay the $1,200 fee it would be like a vacation for the weekend angler fishing alongside the pros. BASS has lost some big names to the FLW because of the change Larry Nixon for one. Bassmaster is not what it once was I have been a member since 1996 and have seen a change. BASS INSIDER has been a waste of money for me and I think a lot of members have seen that as well and the cancelation rate must be high when my current subscription is done I'm done. BASS wanted to be more like NASCAR is ridiculous it has been the weekend angler that has brought BASS to where it was before the Elite format. Although the pros were asking for the Elite series it may have become a double edge sword. In my opinion ESPN will spin off BASS and BASS will be in for some difficult times if it has to stand on it's own also I believe BASS already has peaked and is in decline unless they do something now to be financially solvent. Just my .02. Chow
  7. I use an Interstate dual purpose Marine battery series 27 to handle all the accessories: 2 livewells, spot light, electric start, power trim, lights, console mounted GPS fish finder and the bow mounted fish finder as well. A series 26 came with the boat and I ran it dead in the middle of the night and had to hand start my motor. P.S. I also carry a spare 27 with me as well because you never know. Chow
  8. I just pull the bow mounted trollong motor out of the water and hand clear the prop. My motor has no reverse switch. Chow
  9. It's when you get an urge to buy every lure and fishing gear you see and every new item that comes to market and when it's done you can't believe you bought the whole thing. ;D Chow
  10. Bass are an exciting fish to catch the way they attack a lure, jump out of the water and shake their heads around trying to throw the lure plus they are found everywhere in the continental U. S. Chow
  11. I"m an angler who lives in PA so The Pa Angler was created. My picture is of me holding a Black Lake, NY Bass while standing on my boat.
  12. Excellent post, It addresses the issues that this subject has created hopefully we all can get something from it. Chow
  13. YURSTRUELY: I guess I stepped on a few feet here that's just to bad. The problem with some of you is if it didn't happen to you therefore it doesn't exist. None or some of have not tried Ripcord therefore it's not better but I beg to differ you check the facts nothing is perfect not ripcord or power pro all you want to do is find fault in the Angler to justify your position you got to be thick skulled Republicians who still think there's WMD"S in Iraq. The line DID NOT PERFORM AS WELL AS RIPCORD AND THAT'S THE FACTS you can try to put a spin on it if you want but I'm not buying it. You keep using your Power Pro and I'll keep using my Ripcord and if thet bothers you well THAT'S JUST TOUGH I won't throw away my results just to please you. The issue was to answer a question that was put before the forum not to discredit someone else's experiances there is a possiblity that is was the line and it was and your not willing to accept that STOP BEING SO SELF CENTERED not everything you do is correct or the best. WE GOT OURSELVES A GOOD OLD ticking MATCH. LET'S GET IT ON.
  14. BS-haner. I have to lower your BS flag. I never called it JUNK. never said it SUCKED or said it BREAKED all the time BUT..... I have had issues with Power Pro nothing is perfect but I can say I have never had the same issues with the Ripcord I too have gone all day without retying (Ripcord). I used Power Pro for a whole fishing season I have done a fair comparison until issues arise with the Ripcord I will still promote it regardless who's feet I step on. I have used Ripcord for three seasons and look forward to it's continued use. I have used and correctly tied the Palomar on both lines. I'll give my honest experiances which may not aways parallel everyone else's but thats life. To say Power Pro is perfect would not be honest. Chow
  15. Shredding? I said SHEDDING. There would be a fine dust on my guides as the line would pass through them there is a coating on Power Pro line. As far as fake Power Pro I purchased mine at Bass Pro Shops so maybe they were selling fake line. Power Pro is NOT better then Cabela's Ripcord Si Plus not even close I have used Power Pro never buy it again. Maybe some of you need to try the Ripcord Si I get the impression that some of you haven't and so you proclaim Power Pro is better without trying the Ripcord Si Plus do a fair comparison try them both before saying Power Pro is better. Chow
  16. I used to use Power Pro didn't like it. Had a shedding issue and would break at the knot and I used a palomar knot it seemed to fatigue at the knot such like a piece of metal would when being bent back and forth till it reached it's breaking point. You should try Cabela's Ripcord Si or Si Plus a much better braid then Power Pro and doesn't break from fatigue like Power Pro does. You can feel the difference in your hands. Chow
  17. Go to their website these boats have been known to hit 100mph with a 300hp Mercury outboard. Also Bullet and Allison are made for speed as well. If all out speed is what you want. They do come with a high price though. www.strokerboats.com www.bulletboats.com www.allisonboats.com
  18. PA is not the only state with a 15" minimum. I fished Black, NY and I understand most of NY is a 15" minimum and Anglers get nice sized Bass out of their lakes. You need to access the PA regulations for there is a time during the regular season that 12" prevails most of the time other then the Big Bass Program. Although there is a time when 15" is state wide Jan. 1 till April's closing and Oct. to Dec. 31st. Lake Champlain gave up some really good Bass when the Elite Series was there. In a small body of water a 15" minimum may be an issue but on large lakes where toothy critters live those dinks are on the dinner menu. Chow
  19. I don't know if noise spooks fish but I tried the music thing and the quiet thing and I like the the sound of nature when I'm fishing I save the music for when I get back to the base camp. I have caught my biggest fish when I'm quiet although I did catch fish with music playing. 8-) Chow
  20. The Winter Solstice determines the first day of Winter. For the Northern Hemisphere it's when the Sun reaches it's most Southern point in the Southern Hemisphere. Technically that is.
  21. Great job Hooker!!!!!
  22. I get Bassmaster, Bass Times, Bassin, North American Fisherman, In-Fisherman, In-Fisherman's Walleye insider and PA Game & Fish. I will soon subscribe to In-Fisherman's Bass magazine. All the above are great magazines. Do stay away from Bass Insider not worth the money they now charge for what was free in the past ESPN'S way extracting money from us.
  23. I got a lure back that was bit off by a toothy critter and I've gotten other peoples lures as well. ;D
