  1. Hi, ProCraft is owned by Tracker Marine there may be a cross over from their Nitro Boats as far as a cover is concerned if the ProCraft dealer doesn't have anything try the Nitro brand because I have seen them with made to fit covers and the dimensions may be close or the same between the two boats. www.procraftboats.com Chow The Pa Angler
  2. I believe on one of the E50's last year the angler's had to wait out a thunderstorm on the launch ramp. Basscenter was following Ike during the wait time. The anglers competed and caught fish after the storm passed by. Lighting is something to avoid especially when your on an aluminum boat like I am. I have fished before and after a thunderstorm didn't have a major results difference between the two time frames. Chow The Pa Angler

  4. It's all about towing capacity recommended by the manufacturer. I tow with a 1999 GMC Jimmy with a 4.3 V6, 373 gears, 190 - 200hp and a tow rating around 4,500 lbs the 20' Skeeter with trailer doesn't weigh near that much. The Skeeter SX 200 dry weight without trailer is 1,650lbs according to Skeeter's website. With all my gear for a weeks vacation I trailer (estimated) 3,200lbs to 3,700lbs with no problems traveled 6.5 hours from PA to upstate NY without overheating. Granted the Tracker weighs less then the Skeeter just be shure you have a towing packing, mine has a factory trans cooler and a tow haul button that changes the trans shift parameters. I use synthetic oil rather then natural based oil the synthetic oil does what they claim reduces friction, increases fuel mileage, frees up power through less friction and doesn't lose viscosity through heat like natural base oils do. I trailer a 2004 Tracker 17' Deep V dry weight is around 2,500lbs with trailer. Pickup trucks are usually made with towing in mind. Chow The Pa Angler
  5. I have Interstate batteries that came with the boat with only two seasons of use on them so only time will tell how long they will last but they have been as good as can be expected. I have two group 29 batteries for the 24V trolling motor and two group 27 batteries for cranking and for the accessories that I need to run when night fishing. Chow The Pa Angler
  6. Hi Madhouse 27, I have 2 batteris for the 24V trolling motor one onboard charger for each battery my alternator on my motor charges my cranking battery. Yes you should have one charger for each battery if you need one for your cranking battery and two for your trolling motor batteries they are made to charge one battery although some will divert it's charge to another battery when it's primary battery is charged helping to expedite the charging process. Hope this helps. Chow The Pa Angler
  7. Thank You Ben, The Tracker dealer recommended the SE 300 which is good from 35HP to 350HP although the SE 200 is good from 4HP to 150HP I never asked why maybe the wider foil does a better job on the 17 SC. Chow The Pa Angler
  8. Thank You Bass Junky, I talked to CMC and they told me to expect 3-5mph your results say the same thing. I will take your advice when I get the boat back on the water after the winter thaw. CMC told me to take the foil off but I told them that it should stay on once again your results prove it should stay on. I was adusting the jackplate 1"+ at a time I was a little to impatient I put the jack plate on late in the season only had a few days to find the sweet spot. Thank You The Pa Angler
  9. I have a Tracker Targa 17'SC aluminum Deep V 90HP ELPTO Merc with a CMC 6" setback manual jackplate can't seem to find the sweet spot any info will help. Can the smart tabs used on bass boats work on the Deep V? I also have a SE 300 Hydrofoil on as well. Would the smart tabs do a better job than the SE 300? Chow The Pa Angler
  10. I have a 2004 Tracker 17 SC with a 90HP ELPTO Merc with a stanless prop which I purchased new. I optioned it up with a 24V Minnkota Powe Drive with Auto Pilot, Co Pilot and universal sonar with an Eagle 480 on the bow and a Lowrance LMS 480 GPS on the console and yes they did increase the fuel tank capcity mine has a 30gal tank. the cost was around $14,000 new. $9,500 for the 18 sounds good but don't be afraid to dicker. I really enjoy my boat. Chow The Pa Angler
  11. Tracker makes a phontoon boat called a Sun Tracker and they have three for fishing called a Bass Buggy 18, Fishin barge 21 and and a Fishin Deck 21 www.suntrackerboats.com Chow The Pa Angler
  12. I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy 4.3 V6 4WD with about 190-200 HP 373 gears and I tow a Tracker Targa 17' SC with a 90HP Merc weighs adout 3000lbs loaded have had no trouble towing this package. Towing capacity is about 4500lbs. I use synthetic oil and have noticed a fuel mileage increase and a little more power due to less friction the synthetic oils do work they also stand up to heat better then natural based oil. 13. After using the Okuma Aveo 30 over Labor day weekend I have come to really like this reel. Real smooth and the handle folds without unscrewing it part way or all the way off like the Quantum Energy. Chow The Pa Angler
  14. I beg to differ LBH Mako Is owned by Tracker Marine. www.trackermarine.com Chow The Pa Angler
  15. Best check your state regulations for using panfish as bait some states don't allow it there was a post sometime ago here about that can't recall what state though. Chow The Pa Angler
  16. A couple of fellow angler's boat they were on got swamped and they did go for a swim luckily the boat had flotation foam in it and was close enough to shore that they could get the boat there to refloat it. Chow The Pa Angler
  17. Welcome back from the dead brother your a free man again. ;D Chow The Pa Angler
  18. In Danielsville, Pa there are ponds that are spring feed as well I know the owner of one. Some ponds are clear in the early Spring but late Summer turn green due to alge blooms would that change them from a pond to a lake ??? ;D Chow The Pa Angler
  19. I use Cabel's Ripcord Si Plus braid on all my spinning gear when conditions allow it. I like the fact that a 2lb dia. line is 10lb test if you wnat to get your crankbaits and stickbaits a little deeper that's the way to go most of those baits are rated using 10lb dia. line. Also braids have a shelf life of like 100 years. The 5lb dia. is 20lb test. Braids are more resistant to cuts and nicks then say mono is. Chow The Pa Angler
  20. I was at Cabela's in Hamburg, Pa today just purchased an Okuma Aveon AE30 reel operates real smooth give the handle a quick spin and it seems to rotate forever going to Lake Wallenpauck for a six day trip from september 1st thru the 6th will give it a workout it will be on a 6' med. action Allstar "T" rod that I recently purchased also at Cabela's. Chow The Pa Angler
  21. I use snapswivels and have no real problems other then on topwater baits they tend to foul the front treble hook a lot more then without. The amount of fish loses haven't chaged for me with or without their use heck Aaron Martens lost the Classic winner tiying directly to the line. Chow The Pa Angler
  22. I set my drag 1/2 of the line test, use braid wherever I can, check mono by running the line through my fingers and retie the knot as well. I have no set amount on how many times I check the line but when I do I usally retie. Chow The Pa Angler
  23. I use a Palomar wherever I can, somtimes a Trilene, I use the Power Pro Knot for joining all braids to mono backing I used to use the Uni-Knot for that and the Uni-Knot to tie the line to the spool. Chow The Pa Angler
  24. On a day trip 5am till I'm done which there is no set time. On a night trip 7pm till 7am the next day when fishing is good if it's not then anywhere from 7pm till 2am to 5am. Chow The Pa Angler
