  1. I remember a similar thread a couple years ago, except the one doing the encroaching wasn't very accurate. Bait lands on deck, member waits till he hears the clutch disengage and deftly rips said rod and reel from the offending encroacher. Said he kept the combo! If the other boat has kids onboard, I have given baits away especially if the grown up looks particularly exhausted and the kids haven't caught anything.
  2. I've heard unsubstantiated (local baitshop talk) reports of smallies in Hartswell, Russell and Clarks Hill, and just below the Clarks Hill dam on the Savannah River; maybe Fluke can weigh in.
  3. Ummmm, unless its cubed and in a glass, I avoid ice
  4. That's true with manufactured homes, mods generally have the same rates as stick built. Many still confuse a manufactured and a modular. I know several cases where modular homes were placed in some upscale gated communities that thought their restrictions, could keep them out. Typical person can't tell a good modular from stick built. Modulars are treated as real estate, manufactured are not.
  5. Must have been stationed there and thought how peaceful it was. Now u know why I headed South
  6. That was all done away with when the country adopted the CABO building code system. Shoot there was a time you could order a house through Sears or Montgomery Wards. Check your local real estate laws to make sure you're complying to all zoning and building codes.
  7. Sounds like you've already done some research. Modulars will appreciate and are treated as real estate providing it has a complete wood frame and no title. Some dubious companies sell cape cod type trailers and call them modular, if they have a title they are not a modular. I've seen modular homes around 10,000 square feet, from all appearances they looked built on site, until you started looking for the marriage walls, etc.
  8. I grew up fishing the New and Greenbrier rivers for sheer numbers nothing beats a 4" curly trail grub smoke with black flake, max 1/8oz plain jig head, on those rivers. If you want more quality then craw imitators, bitsy bug jig with trailer. I find lake smallies more challenging.
  9. Who ya gonna call.......
  10. More time than actually fishing, especially last year!
  11. Noted slasher villains are Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street), and Jason Vorhees (Friday the 13th), Michael Meyers gets honorable mention but not in the same league.Slasher films made Psycho look like a walk in the park, lots of blood guts brains and gore everywhere.
  12. Does anyone?
  13. Friday the 13 slasher movies from the 80's they've made at least 10.
  14. Nah, Snook doesn't know who Jason is. would have to do a psycho joke for his generation
  15. Al Linder, Hank Parker Bill Dance, like him or hate him he is probably the most recognized bass fisherman in the world. His show has introduced legions of fishermen and non fishermen alike to the sport. KVD
  16. I purchased mine at BPS
  17. Come on Rhino, two of the four are founding Fathers, Roosevelt and Lincoln were not. Its a tribute to the Presidents who have made the biggest contributions to the country. Many would argue Teddy Roosevelt even belonging on the monument and others want Ronald Reagan to occupy the spot left.
  18. Mine is self explanatory retired boatswain mate (USCG), retiredbosn
  19. My method is really simple, b/c reels 12lb yo-zur hybrid, spinning 6lb yz, the one with braid is 60lb power pro.
  20. I used to live in a neighborhood with a nice pond. Its posted because of liability issues, u get hurt or worse, there and the hoa is liable. The insurance companies will sue the hoa, most ppl know this and as a result trespassers are prosecuted, not necessarily because the hoa wants to but it is a cya type of thing. Bottom line is you will get caught, its not worth it. FWIW unless the hoa gives permission you're trespassing, the pond will be common property meaning that a resident cannot give you permission to fish alone.
  21. Sorry A-Jay that sux
  22. Not good, hope the Bride gets well soon. Prayers sent for her, and you that she doesn't pay ya back, lol
  23. You are in the right place, read the Fishing Articles found at the top of page, ask questions, subscribe to a bass fishing magazine, ask questions, find a fishing partner who is better at fishing than you and learn all you can. Good luck
  24. Sorry to hear of your loss, prayers sent for you and the family during this difficult time
