  1. Sorry, I was tired when typing my initial response, just like anything else there are different quality levels with weight sets. When you go to the gym the bar weighs 50lbs and the free weights are all accurate, two 50's and the bench bar at 50 total weight 150lbs. Your typical entry level home gym weight set is what I was referring to and not very well, the weights are light, so that when added to the bench bar they equal the total you are trying to get, fyi it is the total amount of weights in your set plus the bar equals the total. The individual weights are light, shoot many of them still use concrete in plastic, so a 110lb weight set is 110 lbs when the bar and weights are used together. The individual plates are light, the amount that they are light equals the weight of the bar divided by the total number of weights in the set. It is the cheaper home sets that I am referring to, sorry for the confusion.
  2. Its happened to allot of people, I was bored one day took my grunt tube out, I swear I was making a racket. Look up and a little six was making his way toward me, put the scope on him and he freezes, but he isn't looking at me. What had his attention was about thirty yards to my left. I turn my head, man what a buck, came in from behind. He had no idea I was there, swing the rifle just as he puts his head down and charges the other buck! Was cool to see, but I would rather have those antlers, he was huge.
  3. Bass Pro's mono is pretty good as well.
  4. I lost my last bird dog last summer, Maddie a field bred springer awesome dog. Nothing heals a broken heart like a new puppy though. Sorry.....
  5. Original Stren, nuff said
  6. I prefer spring scales, no battery issues, always reads the same, always ready to use, and very easy to use. Note of interest for ppl using free weights to check accuracy, depending on your weight set a free 10 weight doesn't weigh ten pounds. What I mean is if you want to curl 20lbs, then its two tens and the bar that equal the total weight. Using a free weight isn't the best way to check accuracy. I weigh stuff I buy at the grocery store that have been weighed at the certified scale, now days that's at the register the ones in produce aren't typically certified any more, they have reference only printed on them.
  7. Somehow I missed this part originally, that's a super slow retrieve. I find that once the crank reaches it's maximum depth it is easier to pull it thru the water with the rod. Make horizontal sweeps with the rod and use the reel to taker up the slack. This is assuming I'm using a high speed reel, over 23 ipt
  8. Most reels made for cranking in addition to the lower gears, have longer handles and bigger paddles (grips). The combination gives the angler more leverage and a more comfortable grip, really helps when fishing big spinner baits or deep diving cranks.

  11. A desktop? Do they still make those? As far as your requirements go you would have to special order a computer not to be able to handle what u want. The old Mac vs PC thing is a mater of preference. However if you do work at home that you will later take to the office get whatever system you have at work. Mac ppl crack me up with no antivirus needed, its not that Mac's are immune to viruses, but seeing how PC's out sell Mac by 50 to 1 or 20 to 1 if you count the I pad as a computer, hackers play the odds and attack PC's. As a matter of practicality PC's dominate, so no worries about whether having internet sites being compatable. Bottom line get what u want and are comfortable with.
  12. Sharks easily handle fresh water, especially the bull shark. Documented catches as far inland as Kansas City! Was watching a show (not on Discovery) that a lake in Louisiana has a resident population of bull sharks, Pontchetrain meybe?? Anyway, any river that dumps directly in the ocean has sharks, and pretty far inland too.
