  1. i prefer the black on the citica to the gold. I think the materials it is composed of make it look better than the old curado B series with the black handles. idk.
  2. last exam is 10-12, but i have to work from 1-6, and 9-5 friday... >
  3. dude, your holding all the fish that I would use a bogagrip for. lol. Looks like a fun day though.
  4. how the heck do you do that? because it sounds like it could work great in a weedy area ive tried to fish. I drag a plastic frog, lizard, or senko in lillies. Also 30# braid.
  5. Finally decided to come out of hiding. Btw my last exam is on Thursday, we gotta get out there this weekend, I'm having withdrawls. Welcome. 8-)
  6. I have to agree with this post. When I haven't been out in awhile I just want to set the hook and feel a tight line. But when I'm getting out 3 times a week I'm begging for a larger fish...problem is it's harder then you think. ;D
  7. I am! My fiance has offered to purchase me a rod/reel! Can't wait to pick one out and get fishing this winter break. The funny thing is she loves giving surprises and just wants to agree on a price range and then she'll go to our local store...I can't seem to make her understand that this has to be to my exact specifications. haha. Maybe I should use a buying her an expensive purse analogy. ;D Right now we are talking ~$150 for each others presents. I cant decide whether to get a second Citica E and compre combo or have her just buy me the Curado E and find a stick myself...lifes important decisions. Anyone else waiting to open a rod or reel or just gear for the holidays? What are you looking to get?
  8. sarcasm doesn't read well over the internet diver. Money/fame will always be an incentive for cheating. There is a lot of money and free gear that can be available through sponsors for fishermen. And for fame look no further then the myspace guy, and I believe a world record smallie was disqualified when it was proven that he inserted lead weights into the belly of the fish he was weighing. Maybe that would be a more realistic approach to cheating then tying fish to a stump. Live bait is also illegal in most tournaments.
  9. Hahaha, that's hilarious. Well instead of watching some pro catch fish that would be your PB you took matters into your own hands. Great fish!
  10. I went fishing Sunday and realized after I set the hook I often end up yelling "Re-cast" or "Look out" as the treble hooks fly over the boat to the other side. ;D
  11. Next time use your line to measure the length and girth. Just cut the lure off, pull the line the length of the fish and then cut it off. That's the length. Wrap the line around the fattest section for the girth and you have measurements even if you don't have a tape measure. If you just want to get length then measure it along your rod and go back and use a tape to get the length later. BTW NICE FISH!!! If only adrenaline allowed for a quick creative solution like that. haha. I would have never thought of that. He was probably too worried about getting a picture and making sure the big boy swam away alive. Great fish, congrats!
  12. you can go ahead and mail that crank to Tallahassee, I've been slaying them on cranks lately. ;D I'm definitely down, I read the first thread but the line for the lure was so long I didn't post to receive it. Maybe we could have 2 ppl with matching lures start at the same time that way more people could get a shot to make the list.
  13. In the last 4 months I have fished my neighborhood lake a ton. It always produces a very good number of bass, but they are all dinks for the most part. Since July my fishing partner and I have only caught 5 fish over 3 lbs, they were also pretty skinny for their head size. Now I believe this lake/pond, it is very small, needs to have some bass harvested to balance out the population. But I have read enough post on the subject to know that I'm no biologist and a professional should be consulted. So my question is, is there a gov't agency that does this type of analysis for free? Or where do I go about finding a fisheries biologist to help me out? Also if this will most likely cost money does anyone have a clue to what the fee range would be? Thanks BR.
  14. "Smmmmooooooke On the WATTTTEEERRRR!" followed by announcing the score to my fishing partner to make sure he remembers... "that's 5-0 I believe" ;D
  15. They will store just fine in the plastic bags if you aren't leaving them in the heat all day or something, shouldn't be a problem this time of year. I use a 4/0 hook on the 5" ones. I've never used the smaller ones. hmm favorite color...i'll go watermelon pearl laminate.
  16. so are you doing as the lures name says and jerking it slowly with pauses of 10-15 seconds in there or just cranking slowly with pauses?
  17. bump, advice here too pls.
  18. ok i give, I don't understand what is turnover? Sounds like the lake is in heat or something...
  19. haha. Last time I went to Sportsman Warehouse my fiance was doing errands and she swung in there for me. Turned out I forgot my wallet at home, but she offered to buy the bait i came after. The purpose of my stop was for a Lucky Craft pointer...found the one i wanted...16$. She didn't seem to be phased by it, maybe she didn't notice all the $4-$6 lures we walked by. ;D Well I caught 7 bass today on that lure, told her thanks afterwards. She also bought me a Mann's baby 1 minus a couple weeks ago, she said it was cute and fat. : That is twice I've got a lure for enduring a day of errands that have nothing to do with me. 7 months before all errands have something to do with me...
  20. Interesting. Is there a difference for saltwater vs. freshwater? Whenever I go saltwater fishing we troll a rig with 4 hooks and a spoon trailer for spanish mackerel. Also like basn blvd said we use a sibiki(sp) for live bait, you can pull up 3 pinfish at a time.
  21. ha, I have definitely googlemapped lakes that you guys mention in your posts. It is cool to see what type of waters everyone is fishing.
  22. Well that is refreshing to hear.
