Power Loading
I have read a lot about power loading and how it can create a crater at the end of the ramp. I have been out in my boat 5 times now and can't think how to load without driving it on. I have been putting the trailer in far enough that when I drive the boat on I cut the motor completely about 5 yards out and glide on. This leaves me with about a foot of strap that I have to crank up. I do not want to damage ramps or tick anyone off. My boat only weighs about 1300 lbs but I cant imagine cranking this boat up the length of the trailer. I guess I am trying to see how some of the guys that own larger, heavier boats load them onto their trailers. Thanks! 8-)

how shallow can i go in a fiberglass boat
I had no problem in 2' of water in my 15' boat with a 90 HP on it this past weekend. I just trimmed the motor up and kept an eye out for anything that could hang me up.

High End BPS Baitcasters
I bought a BPS Rick Clunn Sig. Series combo last year for my first baitcaster setup. I just bought another 2 weeks ago and really like them both. I have had no problems with either. They are $90 at BPS which I think is a pretty good deal. Here is a link, http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_104020?hvarTarget=search&hvarAID=&cmCat=10007596

How much motor and 2 or 4 stroke?
I have a 2003 90 HP Mercury 2-stroke. In my opinion the motor isn't that loud. Also I just have to add oil to the reservoir, no mixing required. I would say get the highest HP your boat is rated for. Just my opinion. Good luck with your search.

Some pictures of my "new" boat
I will be sure to update once I have taken my GPS along. Who knows, I thought I was being very conservative at 45 mph; read as realistic. Only one way to find out for sure...is it Saturday yet?

Battery Charger
Thanks for the help. Looks like I am going to be headed to Walmart tomorrow to check these out.

Battery Charger
Will this charger shut off when the battery is fully charged? Will the 2 amp trickle charge charge a deep cell battery over night? Thanks for the quick responses.

Battery Charger
This is what I am looking at right now. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_104715_225007002_225000000_225007000_225-7-2 My biggest concern is ruining my batteries.

Battery Charger
I am looking to get a battery charger for my boat batteries. I am not looking for an onboard charger, just one I can hook up the night before I take it out. What I am looking for is a charger that I can turn on the night before and will shut off when the battery is charged. I don't store the boat at my house so I won't be able to unplug it when its done. Do they make them like that? I am looking to spend around $100 if possible. Thanks!

Some pictures of my "new" boat
Thanks, I will try to increase my ping and chart speed next time I head out. Any info or links on making it a "thru-hull transducer"? Tin, it moves out more then any other bass boat I have ridden in. I think realistically it 45mph but I haven't brought my GPS out yet so maybe I will be surprised...

Some pictures of my "new" boat
Thanks guys. I am real excited about it as its my first boat. Looks like I'll be getting out twice this weekend (weather permitting). This week can't go by fast enough. Question: When getting up on plane I lose bottom on my console fish finder but after throttling back a bit I regain contact. Does anyone else experience this problem or know how to fix it? I am really stumped by this. Thanks!

Some pictures of my "new" boat
Finally got my boat cleaned up and took some pictures. Had it on the water today and it was great. Can't wait to get it out again. It's a 1988 Kingfisher. Me and my cousin spent quite a bit of time cleaning the gel coat and I think its about as good as it's going to get, although I am thinking about picking up some of the Bow-to-Stern formula. Anyways,

Boat Seats (Fishing)
I ordered a lean seat on BPS for $18 about a week ago. It is currently back ordered but I dont think that is a bad price after looking around some. Are you looking for just the seat or the seat and pedestal? The pedestals can get pretty pricey depending on what you are looking for. I will try and find the link for you.

Cutting Braid
x2. My brother bought some for me as part of my xmas present. They work great, although I haven't used them for an extended period of time so I can't tell you how durable they are.

Someone broke into my boat last night!!!
Thats awful! Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Like someone said, keep an eye on craigslist and ebay. The idiot who stole it may try and get rid of it for a bag of drugs or something.

Trolling Motor Question
I will try and call a motor guide dealer tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

Trolling Motor Question
Could I get a breaker at any hardware store or is this something I would have to get at basspro, cabelas, or online?

Trolling Motor Question
When I bought my boat there was an inline fuse on the trolling motor battery. I have a 37lb thrust Motorguide TM with a 12v battery. Does anyone have any idea what size fuse I should be using in this? My cousin has a much newer Motorguide TM and in the manual it says to use a 50 amp. I want to try and avoid putting in a fuse with to high of a break point for obvious reasons. Thanks guys.
