Sam is right and gave very good info. But i know from experience the line your using sucks. i bought it as well cause i found it on clearance at k-mart it wasn't even worth the lousy 4bucks i paid. I'm a braided guy. I use braided on every pole i own. 20lbs PowerPro. in dark green. and it does very well in clear water as well. I have tried to do many tips to make that vanish work but its just horrible in my opinion and does not cast far at all either.. line can be a really iffy thing took me awhile to find the kind i like best. hope this helps.

hes exactly right. i personally use quantum ,and shimano .. but thats a name preference i stick by.. any brand of a good quality in the right specs will work fine.
