Avid vs.Ltb
I own the teaser and its a awesome rod for senkos and other light baits. I find that its very sensitive and good power for handling fish. I do not have any experience with the avids.

Quantum Reels and Tour KVD rods
I own a KVD and its not a bad reel. Just needs constant lube for to keep it smooth. For the price of the KVD its a solid reel.

Recommend a Guide on Toho?
John Leech is the man to go to. I personally went on a trip with John and my father. We did use shiners but my dad got an 11 pound bass and we caught almost 60 fish in a full day. John is 110 percent professional and great guy to spend a day with I can not recommend anyone higher.

Quantum Reels and Tour KVD rods
I havent used the Catalyst but I do have an Energy Pt on a KVD tour 7 10 and its awesome. Probably the smoothest real that I own. Is a great crankbait combo. I also have a KVD reel and its good but the energy is in a different class. I would hope the catalyst is just as good.

King shad & wake shad
I have used the wake shad and plan on getting a few of the king shads and sexy swimmers. The wake shad is a great bait and will produce I use it early morning over submerged grass and at night running it slow.

St Croix LTB Help
I think there is a good description on each of the rods on the st criox site. But I own the teaser model and its a great rod for senkos and tubes. Its primary for me a light cover soft plastics rod. I use it for mainly tubes and beavers in light grass. The rod is very sensitive but I do feel you have to play the fish with this rod.

Frog Fishing
Trying to rig those frog hooks from tru tungsten is very difficult to be honest not my favorite hook. I really just try to keel the frog on a 5\0 hook and it doesnt roll as much . The owner twist locks are great also for this.

KVD Tour Crankbait Rods
I own the 7-10 and love it for launching red eyes in grass and throwing deep cranks. I defenitly plan on getting more of these.

Reaction Innovations BMF hook?????
Dink Anglers in clewiston had them last time I was there about 3 weeks ago.

Another FL ?????
Dink Ista can be really frustrating. the last club tourney I was out there for in March they were inside on the islands in the flats in the morning. They were not big fish but solid 2-3 pounders. The bigger fish came on the islands flipping and pitching bulky baits into the reeds and bull rushes. Alot of the fish were on the inside of the islands. The one thing that amazed me there is I never caught one fish of the dam cypress trees.

Rage Tail
the Shad is a great and so is the toad. The shad is a bait I have tide on alot in the morning if there is a little chop on the water and some grass around. It just flat out catches fish for me. I like the craws to.

Strike King Sexy Swimmer
yeah I am pretty interested in these myself. I really want to get into these. I fished the wake shad a bit this year and its a good bait but this looks like it has potential to be excellent.

Tour KVD or E21
I own the 7'10 model in the KVD and it not heavy I dont have a problem fishing the rod all day with lipless or deep divers. Its one of my favorite rods, its sensitive and powerful but seems to give enough to not let the hooks pull out

Quantum vs Shimano
I have owned the two new energys and the one 7.1 lasted one trip and the clutch died and the gears stripped out. I replaced it with the curudo and its solid. The shimanos are the way to go. Smooth solid and works consitently. Plus a lot more line capacity.

Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper
this bait is quite hot right now in the south florida area. I personally love it I caught quite a few nice fish on this bait. I rig it on a 5/0 ewg super line hook. Try getting some of the screwed up bullet heads too it will help with Durablity. I have fished it over the top of eel grass and other grass. Its great bait you can fish it many ways. I like the Houdini, dirty sanches and June bug. All the baits from reaction innovations are amazing, Get some flirts too great trick worm.

STX or Energy PT or Curado
curado e 7 I just returned my 09 energy after the gears and thumb bar broke after one outing fishing skinny dippers

My review of the Quantum Energy PT Burner
i agree with you. I have purchased two of the new energys and they are by far my favorite reels that I have owned. Just smooth as can be. On of my needed lube for the spool shaft out of the box but its awesome now that its all lubed up with hot sauce. I used my power mode for a bit cranking and its paired with KVD launcher that setup is just light as can be and super sensitive. I have to fight myself not to fish a crank when I know other things would be better.

South Florida, Lake Istokpoga?
Just learning that lake too. Its a great lake to fish. we fished there last week also. We found some decent fish inside the islands too. Fishing skinny dippers. But Flipping the buggy whips won the event. One group had 14 plus for a three fish limit. Pretty good fishing

Lucky Craft Rick Clunn Wake Action Crankbait
i own a few of these in the 1.5 size in ghost minnow and its a great little pond bait for me. I have yet to use it very much in club tounaments but for ponds over the weeds i get some good fish. I actually caught my first double a few weeks back on this bait. I really think all the Lucky crafts are worth the extra cash.

Shoreline techniques to use...
I pond fish alot here in south florida. I walk the bank in canals and ponds here and you have to plan for the water that your fishing. If your in a golf course or community pond you can find less weeds so I have had better success with crank baits and jigs . Some ponds are very weedy so I use frogs and skinny dippers and rage tail shads and toads. In most of the canals What I recommend is a t rig set up. Small light weightsat most 1/4 ounce covers most for me. I use strike king coffee tubes, Sweet beavers and flirts. In the Rocky ponds I use a KVD 7 foot 10 cranking rod paired with the new energy power reel. I can reach place most cant with this rod. I use a series 4s most of the time or a series 5 crank bait. It allows me to cover a lot of water and catch some good fish.

Kelly j top water
I have just ordered a few of these from tw. I was wondering if anyone has any input on this lure and what rods your using to throw this with.
-
Piching
i tend to pitch all the time instead of flipping. I feel I am more comfortable being alittle further from the fish. I use two or three set ups for this The first is a 7 foot Medium St Criox LTB Teaser 14 pound xps floro 1/8-1/4 ounce weight either tubes or aces or beavers the other is a 7 foot 4 Team Diawa frog rod H 65 pound braid 1/2/- 1 ounce with a beaver or craw or ugly otter

Rage Tail baits
The toad works great for me on a owner 6/0 hook with the screw lock. I am not sure what model it is but it works much better for me then a 5/0 ewg hook. Oh tip on the shad if they miss let the bait drop to the bottom and then sit and almost lift it like a worm real slow . I pick up a few that have missed the bait doing this.

Any '09 Quantum Energy PT owners?
i have owned mine now for little over a month I paired mine with a KVD launcher and its awesome. Smooth and solid the drag responds well. This is my favorite reel if I had the money i would defeintly buy a few more, but is time for the northly migration back to vermont. I will be getting more before I head back down south for the winter .
