  1. Check out Dean ROjos frog rod . I beleive that is a MH. You do not need a Telephone poll to fish the frog. The Braid is a must i feel to get the frog to walk. Sinking floro makes it next to impossible to walk in place. Plus the braid helps cut through the grass if he pulls you down.
  2. anyone got room on the back of the boat. my partners boat died thursday. Looking for a back seat for Saturday.

  4. Farmer would you think the frog and slop rod might be the way to go. I have a TD lt frog that doubles as a pithicn a flipping stick . So I was thinking the LTB slop rod may be a good plastics rod and double as a frog rod when I am skipping docks and overhangs.
  5. I like the loomis warranty but. I have fished a few loomis rods I really do not care for the grips. I know its a loomis but for me its not the right feel. I would like to here peoples opinions on the Shaw grigsby rod too.
  6. I was thinking the same thing BigFruits. The Lengend Tournament Bass does have the life time warranty and so does the Quantum PT. You think the extra money would be worth it.
  7. Ok I am looking for a new soft plastics rod. Mainly I through tubes and senkos and trick worms. I sometimes will use it for a creature bait. I am living in west palm so mainly this will be shallow water with thick grass and some heavy cover. The two rods that I am looking at are the LTB Teaser or the Shaw grigsby PT Rod . I am also thinking about the New Mojo version of the LTB rod. Any input on these would be helpful .
  8. From what I understand this is a different plastic then the Zero. I have never fished the Zero.
  9. Thanks Brad I am really starting to like the reaction innovations baits. I will have to try and get some of the bullet heads.
  10. I am Currently using a Team Diawa Frog rod that I love. It 7' 4" and is telescopic. I caught plenty of good fish on this rod and have no problem with the hook set or getting them out of the salad with them. You can really control the fish with it. I agree though you really want a good fast reel and quality heavy braid.
  11. in all the new perfect plastics I am finding the are really soft baits. I love the coffee scent but wish they were more durable like the rage tail line.
  12. i have fished the Ocho it is a good bait but lacks in durablity I have caught 8 fish with the pack i bought and only have one left the are truly a one fish bait. I much prefer the Gambler ace.
  13. Ok So I am thinking about getting a new pithcin rig. I have a 6 8 MH elite series but it works ok but looking for a rod alittle longer and a little more stout to move fish out of the junk quick. I really like the elite series that I have. I have a Diawa Frog Rod so I was thinking about picking up another one of those since it is telescopic. Let me know what you guys think I should go for. I am also thinking about the Iconellie 7 2 model. Its a good price but then I still got to put a real on it. What do you guys recommend and no I am not getting a Shimono
  14. Thanks farmer. I will give them a shot
  15. I am on benoit farms road. I am pretty new to the area and hit some ponds up when I can. Been getting a Good topwater bite too. I Threw the rage tail shad through a bunch of those fake Geese yesterday morning and had a 7 pound take it right into one of the geese. It was loud when he crashed down on top of the plastic goose. I had three people who were walking around the pond come over and see the 7 pounder work me over pretty good before I got him in. He swam away for a good release.
  16. Ok so I really into top water frogs and the Rage Tail Shads. Well I am walking around the Ft. Lauderdale BPS and find these hooks. Well Any one use these with out ruining 4 frogs for every one that rigs properly by the instructions? I sat there for 20 minutes and destroyed 4 frogs trying to fiquire this out. I mean its a hook. It should not be that difficult. May be I should have tried the Gambler one instead. I think I will stick to the Gama 5\0 EWG hook.
  17. For the Guy who asked about the shad. Its a awesome when the fish are shallow around weeds. It has replaced the buzz bait for me. I been killing them on it for a few weeks now. Really starting to think about a second frog rod just for the rage tails.
  18. I have been experimenting with the Reaction innovations 6.95 Flirt in the black and blue color. This bait in the last week has been awesome for me. I know its just a Trick Worm variation but it has really been producing for me. I use it like a shaking rig. The tail just keeps moving with each shake it defeintly attracts the small ones , I catch a limit pretty quick with the flirt. But I have also caught a 5 and 7 pounder on them in the last few day flipping to brush and dock post around the area. I have also been using the coffee Tube on a unpegged T-Rig with good results. The only time I peg the sinker is if I am fishing dense grass or brush.
  19. I am Big fan of the sexy shad
  20. It depends on where you are located. In the fall in Vermont I fished Zara Puppies quickly along the surface around docks and boat houses. I would also use a bomber Long A over rock humps for smallies. Quicky walking the Long A would produce some savage strikes from Gaint smallies. Again I also like a small Strike King Coffee tube as a follow up bait to the Top waters. Spider grubs on a jig head pitched to docks and holes in the weeds would produce consistantly as well
  21. I use straight floro for the applications that you have mentioned. I found in the clear water that I fish in vermont and in South Florida ponds I definetly get more bites with the floro. I use the Bass Pro Shops XPS floro for worms and tubes and it just slightly less sensitive then braid, atleast to me. I love fishing small Strike King Coffee Tubes in shallow weeds and I feel the floro give me an advantage since the water is clear I can see down to the bottom in 5 feet of water. Try it out for your self it would be a low cost experiment.
  22. I actually use the berkley knot for braid applications. I find it very easy to tie and cinches down very easilly. With the palomor knot i find that some times the knot does not cinch down all the way and I have to retie.
  23. i Took out the rage tail shad this morning and it was just awesome I caught three nice fish off a shallow rock pile . Using a larger hooks I had no problem with the shad rolling over. I will bring the camera next time. By the way O the coffee tube was a great follow up bait when they missed shad.
  24. I use xps floro for everything except frogs and top waters for frogs it is a braid and for all others its I used to use the spider wire fusion for top waters but I can not find it any more
