You need to have a little more restraint 'lil fella. Most of us have seen more basketball or any sports for that matter than you have in your brief, limited understanding of the game in general. Do you think any other player besides Lebron could have gotten his "half" of a team anywhere close to a game 6?? He does just about everything any player can do and do them all exceptionally. He makes everyone around him better. That can be said of very few players in NBA history.

Probably my favorite time of year to fish. Make sure you use sun screen, stay hydrated and a neck gator and bandana dunked in the ice chest every so often make things a little easier thru the day!! Keep an eye on the depth that a majority of the bait and bass are found and target those areas! Deeper points with a little bit of rock or stumps, drag a Carolina rig or football jig has been my go to this time of year. Don't let the middle of the day get you off your game, they eat then too!!

I think at its norther most, cotton mouth may exist in the dismal swamp of va. I've had buddies swear up and down they have seen them here in NOVA but I highly doubt it!

Personally, I would stay somewhere in Virginia, I'm not a big fan of Maryland or the district in terms of vehicle safety. Look at Crystal City or Rosslyn, lots of hotels and a quick hop on to metro or even cab it into the district. That way you can take advantage of hotel parking. You could even look at Vienna or Springfield as they have hotels and metro stations.

Lake ridge park on the prince William county side has a dock at the ramp. It's a steep ramp and a little narrow to boot!! Seasonally, it's kind of a crap shot right now. Serious post spawn and an over abundance of shad the likes of which I've never seen this early in the year on the res!! If we keep getting these big swings in temps, it might be a while before the fish really start to relate to specific areas!!

My first encounter with a deer swimming was at Pohick, all I could think was "why is that duck swimming backward!"

Jerkbait in November/December up around the splits area has been the best time for me. I have caught them in other places and other times but this seems to be the best!

I did see a sizeable snakehead in Sandy run a couple weeks ago, just so people know!!

Welcome and pay close attention to what WRB is is trying to enlighten you to! Don't ever be afraid to ask any question here, only stupid question is the one you don't ask!! Don't put too much pressure on yourself when tournament fishing, it supposed to be fun, always remember that! Often when you discover a bait and a particular area where you have some success, you can find other similar areas that have a lot of the same characteristics as the original spot! Put a couple areas together with active fish and you have your pattern like WRB said. Try to find as many areas like that and make yourself a little milk run! Just remember as the seasons change you will have to adjust your plan of attack and probably have to look at other areas as the fish move and relate to others areas where they feel comfortable foraging for food. Location, location, location!

Caught some really nice crappie on the res. standard stuff works. Finding them the right size is the tough part!! Deeper brushy banks with slip bobbers and adjust to the right depth! Probably just missed the best time for size and numbers but you can get back on them in October and November for sure! As for the swimming deer on the res, I've witnessed it plenty of times, big bucks chasing smaller bucks clean off the bank and I mean these little fellas leaping for their lives from steeper banks! I've also seen doe's trying to loose a frisky buck by swimming a cross the back of cuts and creeks. With the buck in hot pursuit minutes later nose in the air!! Coolest things I've seen out there are the otters and freaky large turkey!!

I saw that boat rip up and down the res as well, kinda stupid to push your luck on a Sunday like that, karma has a funny way of catching up with folks like that!! To see someone do that at Burke is amazing!! Not sure how that didn't get reported!! Burke is a purely fishing lake only. Pleasure boaters are not allowed on the water. If you see that you can report it to VADGIF. I've thought about doing that myself especially when looky loos cruse between you and the bank and want to talk about what a beautiful day it is!!

From what I understand, they have stocked it with bluegill and nothing else at this point. Not sure if and when they will stock it with bass. I thought the original plan was to take the same amount of bass they removed from it, from mercer and put it back into huntsman. Not going to happen now!! Very sad because huntsman was really starting to kick out some nice fish for me the last few years. I probably caught at least 100 fish between 4-6lbs in the past 3 years from there!!

Meh, 1/4 rooster tail!!!!!! Biggest fish there?? On that bait!! You can do that catch rate just about anywhere with a rooster tail!!

Start off on something small first! I would say check out lake mercer or a bigger challenge Burke. I'm not a kayak guy but would think to try something without a lot of gas powered boat traffic to try and get your sea legs first. Beaver dam was drawn down so far I doubt anything survived this winters freeze.

While they are fragile, a good reel with proper drag is a must! Horsing the fish to the boat only leads to disaster!!

Yea, what nitro said! Last tournament was difficult to say the least. Came in 4th but had a chance to get in the money with a few missed opportunities. This time of year they tend to drag baits away not eat it!! Patience is key and dead sticking works well. My best opportunities have been in the grass but you have to cover a lot of it to try and pin down a pattern within the grass! Not all of it is created equal!!
