Anyone Hit The Occoquan Reservoir Lately?
Thanks Big, it's really hit and miss right now for a lot of people, best advice I can give you is learn to use your graph and it's never too deep in the winter and summer, and in the spring and fall, it's always a little deeper than you think (when looking at shallow water). J, I only found about 45* like others said, not sure we will get a whole lot warmer by Sunday!

Anyone Hit The Occoquan Reservoir Lately?
First tournament yesterday for FHBC. 21lbs first, 18lbs second, 14lbs third. 6.4lb big fish. 30 boats, a little more than half the field weighed fish. Still very unfavorable water temps 40-45 and slightly stained to heavily stained water. Thought my partner and I were goin to crush them after a keeper in my second cast! Two fish in the boat and 5 bites in the first 30 minutes and then it just all went away. Lost what felt like a good fish on a JB. Cover water and keep on changing until you find what they want!

Front Blade On Spinnerbait Won't Spin
I think you are on the right track with the clevis, I've had to pinch or expand them on occasion to get them so the front blade spins freely. If I can't adjust it to spin freely and I still like the bait, I'll just clip it off and remove the blade.

Been a long time since I fished Curtis, wouldn't even be able to begin to tell you how to go about catching!! I used to cruise the banks with jigs and catch a few, nothing over 4 but understand it has some nice fish in it! Good luck and let us know how you fair!

Another Beer Thread
Two breweries that I really like right now are Devils Backbone in Virginia and Oskar Blues in NC. Devils Backbone Vienna lager and 8 point IPA, and Oskar Blues G'night and Dales Pale ale. Can't get enough of any of those!!

What Have You Purchased Recently?
Samsung 55" UHD 4K tv with the Samsung sound bar! Insane picture and sound, can't wait for some 4K programming to be available. Wife has a hard time watching it, looks behind the tv thinking people are right behind the screen! True Detective is awesome to watch on that thing tho!!

Fishing Techniques For Virginia In March
Generally a good rule to follow, not always a safe bet tho!! Some fish will be on beds then but I find most of the bigger, earlier spawners are already looking for deeper water by then.

Pointer 78 ghost minnow. Crank it down, count to 15, jerk, jerk, pause. Repeat!

How To Find Old School Fishermen
Finding them won't be a problem. Getting them to divulge secrets is a whole different situation! Having gone thru a similar time in my fishing life, patience and time on the water is your best approach. If the "old heads" see you putting in the time and effort, they are more willing to show you things that will help you on a particular body of water!!

S-Glass Jerkbait Rod
The more I read from guys on here about preferences for a dedicated JB rod the more I shake my head really! I totally agree with A-Jay on this. Glass rod for cranking but prefer graphite for my jerk baits! My dedicated JB set up's are *** Black 7'3" med/fast for larger/deeper baits and a Powell Max 704CB med/mod for smaller baits. My biggest difference is that I prefer a quality mono for my JB set ups (Sunline super natural10-12 lb) with a graphite rod. When I deep crank I prefer flouro! To me, I like the longer JB rods. I'm short but like he idea that I can move a lot of line when needed!

Jerkbait Casting And Topwater Rod
I'm a short guy but prefer a bit longer rod. 7'-7'3" for jb and top water. I like the idea of being able to move a little more line! Adjusting rod position on movement of the bait is key!
