  1. Purchased a sorrento for the wife in February. Pretty tight little rig!! No problems to this point, with a 10 year 100K warranty I'm not too concerned!!
  2. Probably not a good time to investigate any type of river system you are unfamiliar with right now due to all the rain. Might want to stick to a lake, pond or res till water levels are not so dangerous.
  3. Jeepn............. Not sure you are gonna find much of a smallie bite after all the rain we are supposed to get!!
  4. First, I think you have to look at the entire body of water as a whole. Is there deeper water than the 12 ft range you mentioned? Secondly, it sounds like you want to only apply certain techniques to certain areas. Don't pigeon hole yourself. Be open to all scenarios at any depth!!
  5. Why did you go with the iPhone if you don't have a computer or Internet access?
  6. Yes it upsets me to some extent, but in the grand scheme of things - birds gotta eat, turtles gotta eat ...............
  7. After labor day, week ends only till the end of october. I can check at fountainhead, I think they rent everyday till they close in November.
  8. Depending on when you visit, Burke lake may not be renting boats. Let us know when you will be here and we can check. I know that after labor day, they start to cut back on staff at the main marina and rentals will still be available on some weekends but not during the week.
  9. Wow! An app that turns your iPad into wood??!! Yeah, she got $180 worth of take that stupid!!
  10. J&S 1/2 oz longbill. 14lb floro. 7'3" MH moderate action rod. Zoom superfluke in disco violet with the tail dipped chartreuse. Points and breaks. Graph bait and fish, count it down and swim it thru with steady retrieve and small twitches. It's gonna be like a crankbait bite. Don't forget to set the hook but most times you are going to be amazed at the vicious bites!!
  11. I just purchases the 7'8" mojo glass CB rod and went thru a trial and error phase with it. My results my not be the same as anyone else's and this is my point! I first tried 12lb mono and found that I didn't have as much feel when making contact with the bottom and hook ups resulted in lost fish with the combination of line strech and softer glass rod. Figuring that I couldn't change the fact that being a glass rod, I tried again with 14 floro. Lower strech and it sinks. My results have been like night and day!! Better feel and sooooo much better hook up and land ratio. The point of my post is this, any combo that you choose, you may have to tinker with it to optimize your results. Good luck and let us know what you choose!!
  12. We can all play nice............ right fellas??!!
  13. Welcome back!! Lol!!

Was cutting keys for a job in the back of my work van, thought someone was joking around pushing on the side and jumping on the bumper!
  15. 1/2 oz longbill scrounger............. that's all I've got to say about that!!
  16. Where is shimmy?? I know that boy specifically fishes for big fish only, targeting areas that hold or are likely to hold big fish. He would rather throw big baits slowly all day long without a bite than mess around with smaller fish. Common Troy!, I've some input!
  17. Brush, keep the scrounger talk to a minimum (wink, wink) you shouldn't even try that set up, it doesn't work ....... at all!
  18. Wow! An average of $50.00 per reel!! Fantastic, need to unload one on the cheap!!??
  19. What is the forage base of the lake you are fishing?
  20. My response was about the park authority main ramp but you should be able to launch your aluminum. If the water is low you may need to put your rear wheels in the water a bit. You got 4WD?
  21. Wonder what it will look like on the xbox. People are comparing it to homefront, which I'm not a big fan of. I have homefront but he gameplay is a bit weird. Hit detection is sketchy at best. Game engine looks promising!
  22. Never said split ring pliers would "cut" trebs off. Just saying if dude is changing trebes on a small to med size crankbait ( normally larger baits have split rings) linesman pliers are a bit cumbersome when it comes to getting the cutting part of the jaws to the part of the treb attached to the bait is all. A nice pair of dykes will do a better job with a small bait. Read, then comprehend.
  23. Linesman pliers are a bit extreme. A good pair of diagonal cutters are sufficient. Also a good pair of split ring pliers will help too.
  24. I've seen a pontoon boat launch out of the free launch by the dam! But you should be fine with your boat. Launch closer to the dock side of the ramp.
  25. Try any seafoam? Almost sounds like a fuel issue?
