  1. I'll probably see you guys at the boat storage around 8, cause I'm not gonna need to be out on the water at crack cold thirty myself!!
  2. What time you guys meeting up with Aaron in the am?
  3. quanjig replied to skunked_again's topic in Everything Else
Pretty amazing that natural selection didn't keep this from happening in the first place!!
  4. No, I repeat, no stix are kept on the "floating tackle box" plenty of nice cranks and stuff, but no stix!!!!
  5. Went over the Potomac at the WW bridge and it was very muddy. Looked at Lake Braddock which never gets muddy and it is very dirty. I just know that 2in. of water into the res is a lot of water and it being full, I know muddy flows down stream. I just wouldn't be surprised if you guys were fishing in some very stained water on the Occoquan. I have tossed a couple of things around on the new setup and it will chuck a weithtless 5" senko a country mile w/o a backlash into the wind......I think I'm gonna like it........alot!!!!
  6. got me a vendetta 7'3"MH modfast with the 2010 stx gonna be very muddy on the river!!
  7. Yea fellas, where you gonna give it a go tomorrow?? I will be at Burke, trying to breake in my new stick!!
  8. Excellent purchase for Skeet. I wish more stories like this could be brought into the spotlight. I'm sure we could all benifit from a little donation for whatever cause we feel is deserving. This time of year especially!! Dan, you need to let me know when you guys do the fishing rodeo this year so I can help out. Happy Holidays everyone, I hope we can all see that in this great country we live in we should all be thankful for all that we have and we should all be willing to give.
  9. Soooooooo, is anyone gonna brave the week-end on the water??
  10. XL speaks the truth from knowledge of the area. He would much rather fish lake X or someplace south of Va. XL is of the same cloth as shimmy, he would much rather fish for big fish than spen countless hours jacking up the keepers!!
  11. Man, I gotta save me some money and get one of those side finders!! The image quality is absolutly phenomonal. Mudkart, I imagine out at Burke you could absolutly slay them with a unit like that!! Did you catch?
  12. Judging by the weather report, we are supposed to get about 2" of rain. If that's the case it's gonna muddy up the res pretty good. My jb bit is not gonna happen. So I'm thinking about Burke.
  13. I'm fishing Saturday as well so hopefully my "floating tackle shop" will be miles away when you guys get to Aarons boat!!
  14. You guys better blind fold Thai, my boat is there as well, I got too much stuff on the deck of mine. I gotta keep some secrets ya know!!!
  15. Jay, keep the faith. It took me a while to be a poster and not just a lurker. Fortunatly, I knew some of the members without realizing it. Having grown up in the Northern Virginia area for all of my 45 years, You just kinda figure stuff out. Not to say people didn't help me out imensly along the way. Putting forth an effort will go a long way with everyone, in otherwords, keep fishing, keep posting!!
  16. Oh my,my,my.......I just started using the larger (5.75" and 6.5") on shakey and t-rig respectivly, and I cannot say enough about them. I had used the 4&5" on my dropshot rig for a couple of years and on a whim, picked up a pack of the 5.75" purple brown laminate. Almost won the next tx I fished with them!! Like ringing the dinner bell on a shakey!!
  17. Thanks Thai. It was a lot of fun. I should have said something about getting out there, I was by myself and could have gotten someone out with me. Keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't get super cold, I think I could have done better with a little more time. Was on the water @ 10:00am, stubbornly looking for the jb bite!!
  18. Thanks Dan, I should have been looking at shallow water, and hitting some banks a bit more. There was a bite going on but I think I spent a little too much time looking at jerkbait spots!!
  19. Well, I was'nt gonna let a bit o' the white fluffy keep me from my Sunday outing. After a little bit of work clearing the snow from my boat cover, I decided it should be a pretty good day once the sun got up and warmed the pavement. Figured I better check in on my late season jerkbait spot. After about 30 min. of hauling water, I got my first bite. Missed it, felt like a good one too. 3 cast later I get bit again, nothing spectacular, but it had some weight. You can see the tail of a large shad in there if you look close. Fun day, caught 14 fish, this was the largest. Bunch of 2's. caught them shallow, deep, jerkbait, baby brush hog, dropshot. Not bad right after the snow!!!
  20. Thai, same place for the crappie?
  21. Dude looked like he knew what he was doing. He also caught a nice walleye when he was fishing near us. He found a lot of stuff on his own from what I could see. Said it was his first time at Burke!
  22. If I recall correctly, 2 jigs, 3 dropshot rigs and probably 6 shakey heads. Just enough to truly tick me off!
  23. Burke was not on fire. Caught 10 small fish and probably missed twice as many. Couple of the bites felt to be better fish than what I was putting in the boat. Talked to a guy who caught a couple over 4 and lost 1 he thought might have gone 7! Thai, probably would not have been worth it to get out there with me today, I will get you out there tho!!
  24. I have fished that pond a handful of times. Didn't know it had any crappie.
