Crap, I need a new go to line
ha ha, It is clear when pulled out, Iv'e done it, but when you look in to the water, it has a greenish tint. I went ahead and ordered the clear line, I have no issues with the performance of the line, just the visual.....

Crap, I need a new go to line
I saw all those, but they are clear. I'm looking for the green line ok, let me ask this....... I always used the green line to match the water color of the lakes in my area. Is there any disadvantage in going the clear color route? Or does it really not matter?

Crap, I need a new go to line
I am finding that Yo-Zuri Hybrid is getting very hard to come by. The places I do find it at (ebay), are very limited on the kinds of line they carry. For some reason, it seems like YZH is going away For my crankbait set up, I always used 12# YZH For my plastics combo, I always used the ultra soft 12# YZH Can anyone recommend a good replacement line that can take place of these two?

Yo-Zuri Snap Beans

Yo-Zuri Snap Beans
I notice the Yo-Zuri Snap Beans are hard to come by nowadays. The ones I do find on ebay are knockoffs, and the ones that are legit are far and few in between. Does anyone know where I can find these? What stores still sell them?

Ultra Light lures
so disappointing, those snap beans are not sold at any stores. Ebay sells knock offs, and the ones that are legit, are far and few between. Anyone know of any other stores that sell these beans? those are cool little cranks

Ultra Light lures
I never thought about rooster tails. I have them for my bigger outfits, didn't think of UL's

Type of line for UL
I have a 5ft UL spinning combo. The combo I have is rated for lures ranging from 1/32oz - 3/16oz. Whether it be soft plastics, jigs, cranks, spinners, etc...........what is a good line test to use for these really light lures? My combo can use 2-6lb test, or I should say that's what it's rated for. Thought about using Yo-Zuri hybrid soft but I'm also open to any other type of line recommendations as well........

Ultra Light lures
What ultra light lures do you guys have great luck with when it comes to wading or fishing small streams? I know ultra lure fishing will catch anything from panfish up to bass. any colors/types you use that you can share?

Yo-Zuri Hybrid
Not sure if this is all Bass Pro Shops or just the one in my hometown , Cincinnati. But I went to BPS last night to pick up a new ultra light combo. Went over to the fishing line section to buy the line I always buy, Yo-Zuri Hybrid, and come to find out, BPS no longer sells Yo-Zuri fishing line. Sales associate said they stopped carrying it this past summer. So if you want YZ line, gotta get it else where. I have bought it from ebay in years past, a lot of line, for less money. Just a heads up

When is Bass Pro Shops best fishing sale?
I primarily fish BPS brand and Strike King. So for me, the Classic is the best time of year for me to buy lures on sale

I saw a white bird that looked similar to one........now that you mention it, i went through my VERY SMALL bird rolodex in my mind and you're right. they dont have talons. my mistake nowhere else to fish. My trip ended March 3rd. Had to come back to the good ol snow storm in Ohio. what the frick. well, until my next business trip out west, it was fun while it lasted.

Lake Murray, La Mesa, Ca
As stated in one of my recent threads, I traveled to Cali for work and was able to make a couple pit stops along the way for some fishing out of the local lakes. I found a lake located in La Mesa, Ca called Lake Murray. Since it was the closest lake to me and was at the perfect time, I decided to give it a whirl I walked along the shore line from the Marina over to the right side of the lake which formed a culdesac. Fished everythign from tubes, worms, crankbaits, and jigs. nothing worked for me. I was there around 8:30 - 10:00 before I had to leave. I did see a couple anglers off the opposite shore (where I was previously at), and they were throwing out what looked to be big ass swimbaits! At least a good 12" long (same size of bass I was trying to pull out of the water). That blew my mind. I have never seen anyone fish swimbaits that were as big as a targeted bass. The swimbait was segmented. There were a couple people over there throwing the same bait. Obviously they knew something I didnt. Although, I never saw them bring anything in..............I left earlier than them so couldnt see the outcome. As I was fishing, I saw a seagul swoop down in to the water and pull out a good 12-15" large mouth bass right out of the water. he started to take off with it, but i guess it didnt have a good grip or he needed to finish off the bass before taking it. so he dropped back down in to the water, wrested for a second or two, then off he went. with the bass dangling from his talons. it was neat but amazing at the same time. with my luck, he took the only large mouth bass out of that lake and left me with nothing!!! Oh, and yes, I did throw my lures repeatedly in the same area he fished from......hoping there were more in that vacinity. no luck though it certainly is a pretty surrounding area...........better luck next time. (attached a couple photos of the lake)

Lake Cachuma, California
to change directions on this thread a bit.......... as I was heading to different cities for work, I passed through a city called Moreno Valley. Between the site visits I had to do and the hotel I was in at the end, I was able to stop at a lake called Lake Perris or Perris Reservoir. Had to ask a gas station attendant where to obtain a fishing license. Luckily there was a walmart 2 miles down the road. CHA CHING!! took the associates awhile to figure out how to get me a license since I was not a resident of Cali. but whatever, I got it and was happier than a pig in mud! So off to the lake I went. Had to pay $10 to get in to this lake as well. d**n, California is expensive. (don't see these type of fees in Ohio ) But whatever. Water was super duper low at this lake too. temps were between 60-70. I was out there from 2:30-4:00. Threw some cranks, plastics, but no luck. There were about 4-5 other boats on the water, all around the boat docks fishing, which is where I was. I didn't see anyone catch anything in that time frame either. I saw the guys on the boats throwing chatterbaits and spinnerbaits....... Seems the whole mid-southern part of the state is going through a drought. At least I got my license now. I will need it on Monday and Tuesday when I hit the San Diego area. tight lines

Lake Cachuma, California
here is a disappointing update. I did end up making it to the lake as I wanted; well sorta. with me travelling for work, and not knowing what was around (on the fly), I didn't want to go off the beaten path trying to look for a store to obtain a fishing license. I called a few sporting goods stores in the area and they both told me they didn't sell them. So I ventured out to the lake in hopes they'd sell them there or id run into a shop that did. It just so happens that the marina does in fact sell licenses, but there printer was broke, and has been since the first of the year. So the kid there helped me buy one online, as I ventured through the site to purchase, I got to the end and it said visa or master card ONLY. I have one credit card to my name and it was not one of those!! I was disappointed at that point. Thought about chancing it just so I could wet the line but figured it was not worth the risk of getting caught. So I enjoyed the 65 degree weather for about 20 minutes and watched the lake. The water level was really low. There were a few pontoon boats out and about. Few people came in saying they got skunked. the kid at the marina said the largemouth and smallmouth were hitting crankbaits. (Berkley flickershad to be exact). He even told me where to fish from shore where the bass were, But I never got the chance. so, I drove in, paid $10, got denied a fishing license, and 30 minutes later, I left to head to my next location for work. ah well, money went back to the park anyways. thanks for the help everyone, Hopefully someone else can use the info you offered. till next time.

Hooks While Traveling
hmmm, mine are in a plano pocket box right now. i suppose i could throw them in my big bag, not like im gonna need them in the air

Hooks While Traveling
I'm not sure what category I should have put this under, but I'll try it here. If it gets moved, then so be it. When traveling on a plane, can you take fishing hooks on the plane? I will have my travel rod/lures in my carry on bag. Will they allow this, or do I have to place them inside my check in bag?
