The Bass pro's
bassclary - that could be but i kept watching it over and over to see if they actually feathered the spool....i wasnt seeing it. i would think the right thing to do was feather. my revo STX can be thrown sometimes without feathering depending where the breaks are set but i dont mess with that. i feel more comfortable feathering....to each his own though

The Bass pro's
that is correct, now that you mention it. it was pointed and he did call it a swim jig. i did a rewind on my direct tv to watch it again.......... makes sense about cutting the profile down, but he never mentioned why. another question. while i was watching the same episode, the bass pros were all using baitcasters. i tried watching as close as i thought i could and i never once saw them feather the line with there thumb while casting. now, unless they did this so quickly that i didnt see it. while they casted, they actually had close ups of each pro when casting and i never saw the thumb move. is this possible?

The Bass pro's
I was watching The Bass Pro's television show and this time KVD was in it talking about his swimbait jigs. he was fishing a football head type jig with the soft crawdad tails attached to the hook. every time he went to put the soft bait on, he would bite the end of the stem off it.... why does he do that? rather than taking it out of the pack and placing it on the hook, he'd rip the tip off, then place it on.

universal line??
holy crap...ok, school me if i buy 12lb test in fluoro, why would i not buy 12lb test in braid? why 30?
-
universal line??
braid??? thats a good uni line? im assuming theres no stretch? with a wading rod i normally use 6lb test of the yo zuri. with my BC reel i use 12lb test. do you need to modify the braid lb test or do i use the same strength? i see what your saying. if it aint broke, why fix it. that is true.........i just see so many lines out there, i sometimes just wonder if there is a better line, yet cheaper

universal line??
If this has been asked /answered, please direct me to the response but... I normally use Yo-Zuri Hybrid for all my fishing needs. ALL of them..... i am very satisfied! but just to see what else is out there that i can use, can anyone recommend a good all around line? fluoro or mono? is there such a thing?

anyone use the Abu Garcia C502 Reel?
Hello again, I have an Abu Garcia Cardinal C502 reel that i will be using for my wading purposes this coming season. could anyone offer some advice on what rod this type of reel would go best on? (Length, Power, Action) i am using 6lb test, throwing all lures (soft/hard), catching panfish as well as 1-2lb bass. i'd like to spend around 60 dollars or less.

tubes? part 2
i definitley agree on the whole "buy the tubes when you need them". i mean, at 3-4 bucks a bag of 10, that lasts a good while and they are not that expensive. just thought it would be fun to make my own...........

tubes? part 2
im new to the whole do it your self soft plastic making please explain "Otherwise you can do it the old fashion way and rod dip" i looked into the website and they did have tube molds. that can get VERY pricey!!! especially if your not out to sell them to make your money back!! theres a lot that goes into making plastic lures.... WOW

tubes? part 2
I did not want to hi-jack the previous thread on tubes but i have been searching the past few months for a 3-4" tube making mold. i know moldds are pretty expensive to begin with but was looking for one to get a rough estimate on price. does anyone know where to get tube molds? are they hard to make? i would imagine no different than worm plastics, right?

Local Wally World Trip and found new AG rods......
Hey All I stopped at my local Wally World today to pick up some cheap line to get my fishing fix during the cold winter. while walking down the line aisle i decided to checout the ods they had in stock. I came across an Abu Garcia Cardinal Tournament Grade spinning rod. #CTG561L, 5'6" light, 1/16 - 3/8oz lure, 2-8lb test....$33 I took it off the rack, gave it a few shakes and whips and seems very solid. the tip was VERY flimsy, but nothing that would cause alarm on quality. it felt really nice!! has anyone bought one of these let a lone see them in the store? i checked BPS, nothing. this is the first time i have ever seen these rods anywhere. any users? good or bad? :-/

BPS Master Catalog 2011?
i got mine about a week ago,,,i did notice that the fishing section was rather weak. sure it shows the newer items as well as the old but i was just hoping for a lot more pages of fishing. i know its called a master which has everything but a freshwater fishing catalog with the same amount of pages would be SPECTACULAR!!!! there is always the internet, but thats boring!!

falcon, st. croix or all star?
i am researching all the rod options in my price range and there are 3 brands that are all in the same price range that i am interested in. i read all the descriptions of each of them and they all seem identical for the most part. Could anyone offer advice on which one would be the best rod for the money? here they are: 6'-4" All Star rod - $80 http://www.basspro.com/All-Star-Team-All-Star-Spinning-Rods/product/51845/-1014781#prodDescription 6'-6" St Croix Triumph #TRS66LF - $70 http://www.basspro.com/St--Croix-Triumph-Series-Spinning-Rods/product/103653/-1284084 6'-0" St Croix premier #PS60LF - $90 http://www.basspro.com/St--Croix®-Premier®-Series-Spinning-Rods/product/74392/-1208593 5'-9" Falcon #FS2-1-59 - $80 http://www.basspro.com/Falcon®-Original-Series-Graphite-Spinning-Rods/product/22369/-494039 if this has been covered in another thread, please point me in that direction. thank you

really that much difference in "action"
hmmm, ok here are my fishing specifics that id like to do with the new rod (whichever it may be). my lures will be 1/4oz or less. majority of them range from 3/16-1/4. a lot of cranks, tubes, pan fish jigs and things of that sort. all fished via wading and nothing more. the waters are roughly 4' deep, MAX. i would say the average is closer to 2' deep. i normally pull in a bunch of small mouth and a few large mouth bass but none of them ever get more than a pound or two in weight. catch a lot of panfish, as well as rock bass. im looking at a 6', 1 piece rod, st. croix. just not sure which power i should lean toward. i dont want to spend more than $100 on the rod.......the rod would be placed on my AG Cardinal 100ui reel. NOW, i would not be against purchasing a combo to replace this if you could recommend any.... i know im all over the place with my questions but just trying to upgrade my wading rod/reel but was going to start with the rod unless there is an awesome deal for a new combo. (i need to shop at BPS store since i received a gift card)

really that much difference in "action"
hello all. could anyone tell me if there is a huge difference between a Light action spinning rod and a Medium Light Action spinning rod? is there a huge difference that you'd feel while fishing? debating on which rod action to go with for light weight tackle for wading. i do not want Ultralight rods. any help would be appreciated

st croix or bps microlite
my mistake, i meant difference between light action and MEDIUM light....sorry
