I was catching them in feb on the PUNKER! I am killing them right now on topwater!

Yeah i think you should go with mono too.Mono is way better for swimbaits.But if you want to use braid then tie a long leader of flouro or mono like i said earlier.

That is a great setup.Make sure you tie a long leader of 20-25 pound mono for sinking baits.

dropshot i didnt have any problems with my 1st gen rods.They were sweet!Im pretty sure that the old 1st gen rods have a 1 year warranty.

Swimbait combo:8.6 xh okuma musky rod to throw the big 10 inch plus baits calcutta 400 and 30 pound big game. 7.6 okuma heavy with a curado 300/lunker punker/small swimbait rod with 65 pound braid or 20-25 pound mono.

Mine did the same thing but im not worried about it.I put size 4 owners on both the front and back and mine swims fine.
