  1. Rapala Husky Jerk
  2. As far as making a mold, maybe it would work for a plastics molds, however for lead molds, I don't think the resin from 3d printers is rated high enough where the resin won't start melting. But definitely some good ideas.
  3. I have the model and 3d cad making capabilities, as I'm a designer and use solid modeling software, however I don't have access to a 3d printer. I was going to post on what I'm working on, but then I refrained myself from doing so, because no sooner you post something, your idea is gone. But yes I have quite a few ideas floating in my mind. Need to finalize these and find someone that can make some stuff for me and/or buy a 3d printer myself.
  4. As far as my go to colors mainly black/blu, grn pumpkin, watermelon, watermelon candy. Actually any color that Netbait makes other than white and ylw chart. Never did really well on those two colors.
  5. First and foremost my homemade jigs with a Paca Chunk. Second, wacky worm. Third, would be a rattle trap or jerk bait.
  6. I've had very good success with Husky Jerks in the chrome and black color.
  7. I wish I had a warm spot to keep my boat and clean it up for winter, this way I would be fishing up until Thanksgiving. All my boat maintenance has to be done outside. Boat won't fit in the garage. Anyway you guys at least got some fish. Job well done. As long as I fished the lower dells, I never caught a white bass and I fished it for 8 years straight. I caught sauger, walleye, nothern, smallies, buegill, drum, and crappie but never a white bass. "Really put the SI/DI thru their paces as well and I'm getting more impressed with the technology the more I use them." Pardon my ignorance, but what does this mean? BTW what did you catch your fish on?
  8. :thumbsup1: :thumbsup1: I like people that give all kind of input to the forums, that's the only way we learn. If it doesn't work for me it might work for someone else. Information is here for everyone's use. Yes I do have a roll of electrical tape in my boat, and better to use that, than nothing at all.
  9. No offense to anyone who uses a different way to do this but I like the heat shrink tubing, as it is simple and easy for me. Thanks Wayne P and everyone else for the replies.
  10. Just thought I'd ask one question to the guys about the heat shrink tubing. I use 3/8 diameter tubing 1/4" long. Sometimes , I think that it is too short and the worm has a tendency to be pulled off. However, with a 1/4" long piece I get a lot of worm action. So what length do you use, and does it hinder the action of the worm as it falls? Thanks for any info or suggestions.
  11. I don't know what your budget is but I bought a multi-species boat, because I wanted to fish bass tournaments with my wife and also take my niece and nephews boating when I had time. I can't speak for other boats, but my choice was between a Lund and a Ranger. All said and done, I bought a Ranger 619VS multi-species Fisherman boat. It will easily fit 4 people ( although fishing with four is a challenge unless you're all jigging) and if you put the back deck on (optional), you can have a casting deck. I've had this boat since 2007 and I can't complain about anything. Lots of storage and doesn't get wind blown. I will say that this is a heavy boat. There are other good boats on the market, you just have to decide your budget and what you want. Cheaper to buy a multi- species than two boats. Plus the maintenance of two boats could be costly. I attached a pics of my boat. The second pic shows the casting deck on where the butt seat is.
  12. Tried braid as well and didn't like it . I tried Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultrasoft for my spinning reel and Yo-Zuri Hybrid for my baitcasters from the suggestions here and I like it very much. Have also used Berkley Big Game, Xl and XT and Triple Fish, all good lines in my opinion.
  13. On my old boat, I had some seat covers, that I bought that fit car bucket seats. I bought them at Wal-Mart. You can get them for the high back or low back seats. Mine had a full back on them. I will tell you one thing though, and the ones I bought only lasted about 4 years or so. They weren't high quality, however I only paid $15 for each cover.
  14. Well looks like you guys done good with the crappie and white bass Well,it's still better to be on the water looking for fish than at home cleaning a boat and thinking about it. it's going to be a long winter and we haven't even gotten snow yet.
  15. Mark, As I was applying it to the lower unit just below the cowl cover, I did get some on the black cowling. It did not do any damage to it. However I did not do the whole cowling cover, as there are Mercury decals on the cover, and I don't know if it would do anything to those, so I was careful not to get anything on that.
  16. Slonezp and Nice_Bass, At least you guys got on the water. I hear its supposed to be in the mid 50's this weekend. I guess I should have waited in winterizing my boat. Slonezp, I don't fish "The Chain", so can you tell me your secret spot where you got your fish this weekend? There is a lake by my house about 50 acres, that I start shore fishing in fall. Will be there this weekend and let you guys know how I do. I usually fish it, until the water starts to get skim ice. Last year Thanksgiving Day, I fished for about 4 hours and got a fat 16" bass.
  17. MarkH024 This is so easy it's not even funny. If you are going to use it around the carpet on your deck be careful. The reason I'm saying this is, I don't know what this would do to your carpeting. I did my hull, and although my hull sits on carpeted bunks, if they would discolor, it wouldn't matter to me. Now when I put the boat away 4 hours later yesterday, I didn't see any discoloration on my carpeted bunks. Just a reminder and a precaution for you.
  18. Well, Thank You, it worked like a charm. BTW how did you do fishing????
  19. Well, I just cleaned my boat today, and found out that I didn't have any Lime-Away, and then I remembered someone talking about toilet bowl cleaner. So my wife had some toilet bowl cleaner called "The Works". My outboard is black and so is my hull. So I wet my outboard with a hose, put some of the cleaner on a wet sponge, and did a small spot on the outboard. Washed it down, dried it and wow it looked just like it did when I bought it. I then did the entire motor, my entire black hull, and it looks beautiful. You can easily see spots you missed as soon as you wipe it dry. Re-apply in that area, rinse, wipe and finished. Man for 6 years I would get under the hull and painstakingly, try to get the white grime off of my boat. Somebody shoot me for not asking sooner, Ugh. Anyway, it took all of about 30 minutes to do the entire outboard and my entire hull. Man I feel like I won the lottery. Anyway, I'm sure other toilet bowl cleaners would work as well, as I know Lime-Away does also, because I just spoke to one of my club members and he uses it. So I thought I'd post this as another product that works really well. Note: Wear eye protection and some rubber gloves, as the toilet bowl cleaner is acidic. Thanks to everyone for all their input.
  20. Hey guys thanks for all the info.
  21. I sure do. Now to answer the OP's question. I have a torque wrench also, and I don't use it on the prop. I tighten it up good, and then line up the start washer and bend two tabs. Now if I were working on something critical like an engine bolt pattern than I would definitely use a torque wrench. However, I'm not saying that the way I do it is right. Do what makes you feel at peace.
  22. Now that is funny. You know what? I can't wait until I meet you on our BR mini fishing expo next year. I need to be in your boat. I'll spend more time laughing and having a good time than fishing. Probably wouldn't catch any fish, but the company would be great.
  23. cadman replied to CPBassFishing's topic in Tacklemaking
That looks pretty cool. Let me know how you do with that.
  24. Thanks for the info. Couple of other somewhat related questions. I have always been waxing my fiberglass with Nu- Finish. I know there are other products, is Nu-Finish not good to use on fiberglass? Is Mothers Marine spray better? Also what is BBS? Thanks for the explanation.
  25. Thanks for the info guys.
