  1. try a break away rig, basically tie it like a drop shot with very light line dropping from the hook to the weight so when it hangs up it is easy to break off.
  2. This post is funny to me, 3 days of practice on many of those fisherys is nothing, I fished the college nationals championship a few weeks back and did not do well on a lake I had never been on even though I had 3 days of practices. It goes all back to specific skills like in that situation ledge fishing, i have not idea how to ledge fish and I could not catch jack off shore but thats how the tourny was won, I was able to find fish and caught a limit each day but ended up 115 out of 200. I am normally good at breaking down water, but my point is if you dont have the skills you have no chance.

  4. There was a coangler from Miami killed my lighting during the TBF Divisional Championship on friday. It was very very sad.
  5. I catch plenty of big fish, but im excited over every keeper i catch. I just love that pull at the end of my line.
  6. Well.... I ahve seen 3 bull sharks in okeechobee in the last 4 years, one between uncle joes and the moor haven locks, one in the kissimmee river and one near kings bar so i would say there are some sharks, its not hard for them to get in the locks from either coast. we have caught sawfish 20 miles up the calussahatchee so I can believe one could make it there. its the same way the manatees get there.
  7. its related to a shark, im not suprised they are sharks in there all the time.
  8. check your scale, a 19 inch fish should weigh more than 3 pounds, it should be closer to 5. other than that looks like you are have some success.
  9. I think i could catch fish and cash a couple checks but I would def. be in the bottom half in AOY
  10. NEVER SWIPE AT THE FISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if my coangler does that he gets yelled at, you put the net in the water and lead the fish in. stabbing at it will make you lose fish.
  11. Give them big props, It was very tough out there this week, I had a limit each day but never got a big bite during the tourny.
  12. Ill take erie because Fork would not be my first choice for big large mouth, infact my choice number one is okeechobee which I fish commonly.
  13. yes Mcfarland and yes Wilson is open to us.
  14. When I am bedfishing in club tournys ill make a few pitches to feel the fish out before I tell the non boater about it, but when i do i let them come on the front deck and we alternate pitches.
  15. id love to keep seeing reports ill be up there at the end of the month for the national championship and i have never fished it before.
  16. i would be interested, and im sure I could get some guys from my club to make a drive over.
  17. or you can join us down at FGCU(Florida Gulf Coast) and get to fish okeechobee every weekend and saltwater every night.
  18. a sawed off shot gun..... i think that one takes the cake for me. also shirts, shoes, all that kinds of fun stuff. i did snag a line with a 4 pound bass on it during a tourny, i called the director and they let me keep it.
  19. Stay in the running lanes! i was there last week and it took me 4 hours to bend a prop and prop shaft running a "safe" area. there is stuff every where in the lake now from the storms.
  20. Those ponds can be very bait specific and I have fished most of them a lot. So if you tell me where you are or the general area I can tell you what i catch them on. but to put it simply i will use a bandit 100 in chart. and black striped, a white war eagle spinner bait, and a texas rig with a u vibe, those are normally the best.
  21. I have a college tourny up there and I have fished there a total of a half a day in my life.
  22. I am going to lake guntersville for a tourny, Ill be heading up next weekend for a week does any one have any advise I have only fished it once before. Thanks Guys.
  23. Yeah I have never had an issue, infact all the officers I have ever met have been plenty nice and just reminded me to pick up and trash and stay off private property.
  24. I actually disagree, Ft myers has ok shore fishing, it takes time to find the stuff and it is always changing but it is good. we fish shore tournys every month and do very well. The salt water fishing is also nice, on summer nights after work we will go to the beach and catch 8 or 10 different kinds of fish. Oh and the housing is crazy cheap, esp. in cape coral 200k house 5 years ago are 20k now. Oh and all property is legal to fish unless its gated, Fenced, stated no trespassing or other wise says no fishing. feel free to PM me with questions. I grew up in Jacksonville, the boat fishing is about the same but shore fishing blows!
  25. im going to put this nicely, this does not make you any different than what most 16 year olds who fish tournys and has a computer thinks. just that wont fly with a company. I have had sponsors for a couple years, you have no idea the time investment it takes and it cut in to your fishing. im going to give you advise, keep fishing, quit looking for sponsors, look for a part time job to pay for entry fees, get good grades and get to college. in college take marketing classes and fish on a college fishing team. listen to lynyrdsky1, he has been through the ringer on here, I will add to what he said you resume is too wordy and personal. they dont want to read they just want to see the facts. and I got bad news if you dont make it to weigh in to show there product it is no help to them so you might want to leave that out. if you have questions let me know I hope this helps.
