MBR844
The GLX MBR844C is an exceptional jig and soft plastics rod and is more sensitive than the Avid. I don't use mine for spinnerbaits. I own both of the rods you mention but I don't subscribe to the idea that an extra gram or ounce here or there is going to create more fatigue for me at the end of the day. I workout regularly, but even if I didn't, I still don't think it would make a difference for me.

Skeet Reese
Skeet has had a tough start to the AOY competition and is sitting in 52nd position currently. While he didn't place too badly in the Classic (14th), he was never in the thick of it. I think this is why we haven't heard much about him. However, only two AOY events have been completed. I think he'll make some noise before it's over.

hey yall
Welcome to BR. How I miss riding and racing dirt bikes. Of course at my age, 50, I remember the first monoshock dirt bikes that were produced by Yamaha around 1974. Talk about a revolution! I got away from riding when I first started out on my own due to finances. Now I have the money but not the time.

GMAN's Jig Suggestions
I like GMAN's regular wide gap jigs with the wire tie for $2.35 a piece. I personally think the quality received for the price is a real steal. If you want better paint and eyes on your jigs, buy his Elite wide gaps for slightly more. However, the paint on his cheapest jigs is excellent and the hooks are great in my book. They handle grass and vegetation well too. I have also had quite a bit of luck with his finesse jigs. A bunch of guys on here like his Cousin-it jig (Mop jig) and I plan on buying that soon, as well as some of the bullet grass jigs. (I had meant to make this purchase already actually.) Every time I look at his site I see something else I want. The Brush DNA Image jigs are some of the coolest jigs I've seen and at $2.85 each for anything below a half ounce, I think they are a steal too. These same jigs are only $3.10 for 5/8s ounce up to 1 ounce. To be honest with you, I don't think the man makes a bad jig so you have to purchase the jigs that fit the situation you are fishing. (I am not sponsored by or in any way associated with Siebert Outdoors. This is my true opinion. If you like good jig fishing, I don't think you will be disappointed in GMAN's stuff.)

Breaking TM Transducers
Yeah, I agree K-Mac. Once you're in thick timber and you are casting and maneuvering the boat at the same time it's easy to bump underwater timber. I never claimed to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

First big fish of the year.

Breaking TM Transducers
Funny. I thought about the possibility of making a shield and I never googled to find a manufactured one. In my lakes, this is definitely a good idea. Of the two of these which one can handle the most abuse?

Breaking TM Transducers
How often do you have to replace your trolling motor transducers? The lakes I fish the most contain a lot of timber and brush under the water and I find I am replacing my TM transducer once a year on average because of the beating it takes from bumping wood under the water. Sometimes, I replace it more than that. I've accepted that this is the way it is, but maybe I just need to learn how to drive.

UV Light
Ultraviolet light travels much further than visible light in water. When I say visible, I mean visible to humans. Some lure and lure treatment manufacturers believe that bass in the depths can not only feel lures through their lateral line, but can see the reflection of UV light off of lures as well. You can read what they think at the following links, but remember that these are manufacturers' claims. I was unable to find a scientific study that proves without a doubt that this is true, but it is an intriguing theory. After all, once you reach a certain depth everything is pitch black. To be able to see UV light would definitely be an advantage at such depths. http://www.uv-tackle.com/tightlines_history.php http://www.halibut.net/What-Fish-See.htm

I blame you guys for this.....
Ah, but there are. Flukes were discussed quite a bit a few years back and as recently as mid-2010. Use the search tab, type in Zoom Super Fluke or Zoom Fluke, highlight the tackle thread, choose "all posts" in the drop-down, and check the box to display only one result per thread. You'll have to search through them to find those that tell you how to fish it but they are there. Unfortunately, unless you can make this more specific, it will only take you back to 2008 because of the maximum limit of 150 results to display. Here's a thread from 2010 that gives some decent info. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1276271586/0
