  1. I would do this too. Rustoleum is some wicked good paint.
  2. I have a 6'6" M rod that I have used for plastics, jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, topwater. Pretty much everything except big swim baits or the A-Rig. I say medium rather than medium heavy because you can throw some smaller finesse baits on it.
  3. I have an S and I love it. I have heard people who have the SX love it. I think if you just need to go with the one you can afford. All nice reels
  4. The Abu garcia Veritas is a nice light White rod. I love mine. It would be an easy rod to see against the trees and carpet in the boat.
  5. Academy has the H2O Xpress Ethos rod that is a bright blue,
  6. I like strike king baits, I also like bomber baits. You should think about some of the bomber squarebills while your out and about
  7. I just recently picked a few up cause they look great for the price. I have only thrown the deep diver and it ran straight but had very little wobble. Looks good and dives straight, I will give it another shot this week.
  8. I think the biggest difference is that the flipping hook is not offset and its not an extra wide gap. The Super Line hook is thick like the flipping hook but with an offset and the extra wide gap. I feel like the extra wide gap gives a little more play to move around in the fishes mouth, whereas the flipping hook/straight shank fits snug against the fish's mouth. Since it does not have that big gap, it doesnt have as much room to move back and fourth. I like using the EWG when fishing a thick bait, but skinny baits are probably better with the straight shank hook.
  9. I am going on a fishing trip and we always do quite a bit of night fishing. I use a big black and blue spinnerbait with a big colorado blade, 10" Worms, Paca Craws, and Brush Hogs more than anything else. Last year I mostly threw the Rage Tail Smokin Rooster and the 10" Anaconda. I plan on trying the Trigger X Big Moe this year. I hear a lot about a Black Jitterbug, but we fish 3 or sometimes 4 people to a 16' bass boat, so its pretty crowded and were not comfortable throwing topwater or baits with treble hooks at night, just cause who knows when that puppy is going to come flying back at you. And with 4 people in the boat, there is a pretty decent chance of a treble landing in some human meat and that wouldnt make for a fun vacation. What do you all think? Whats your favorite Night bait??
  10. I like how the inside strands are longer than the outside. Gives more of a baitfish profile
  11. I recently bought a Revo S and an Abu Garcia Veritas rod and I could not be happier.
  12. I have T-Rigged them and used them as jig trailers. Many of the beaver type baits dont have much action, which is why I dont throw them too much. I like the profile for a jig trailer, which is the way I use it 90% of the time. The Strike King River Bug is the beaver bait I use for jig trailers. It is a nice size, but like the reaction innovations one, it doesnt have much action.
  13. The Luck E Strike Trickster Spinnerbait puts off an awesome thump! In water that dirty I would throw chartreuse or black.
  14. That looks wicked! let us know if you wear them out on it
  15. I have the Revo S, but was leaning very close to the SX. Ive heard some good things about it. My Unlce got an STX, but it just doesnt feel all that smooth to me. My S feels better than the STX, in my opinion. The STX comes in an 8.0:1 if that interests you at all. I would go SX to save a bit of money and get maybe a few more frogs
  16. someone posted that the Abu Veritas is on sale on walmart.com for $72. Awesome Rods!
  17. I use them as jig trailers. A little more finesse setup than a rage craw, but still enough action to entice some fish
  18. Easiest way to add a rattle is to use a trailer like a Tiny Paca Craw (Which is hollow) and stuff one of sphere rattles in it. Wont come out and makes your bait rattle. I fish jigs same way, drag or hop off ground with or without rattle
  19. I am from Missouri, lived in Springfield a few years ago. Anyway, looking at storage areas... If you do not have a house picked out, you should look at making sure you have a basement. A basement would not only be a great place to store your gear, but its also the safest place durring tornados, which seem to have been pretty bad in the past few years. Missouri weather can be insane, we had snow in May, only 2 days after weather was in the 80s. It will get up to the 100s in the summer, down below freezing in the winters. I always store my gear in the basement when possible. It wont get too hot, safe from storms, safer than the garage from burglers, and its nice to work on sorting out what you need/have and everything in the cool basement during the middle of the summer. As for storing, I keep my plastics in big rubbermade boxes labeled Creatures, Lizards, Craws, Striaght Tail, Curl Tail Worms, Senkos, etc. I have a shoe box full of extra Terminal Tackle, and I keep the hard baits that are not Main Stays in extra Plano boxes. I keep all those on a shelving unit in the corner of the basement. It doesnt take up a whole lot of room if you stack everything. I have a round rod rack that I keep my rods on too. Hope this helps. And being at Table Rock, your only 45 min to an hour from Academy, Bass Pro and the Bass Pro Outlet!
  20. haha. One reason I am a Revo man is because its nice to my wallet. If I could affor a Chronarch, I would probably go for it.
  21. I know a few people who think the Symetre is the only way to go
  22. I like trying new things as well when it comes to buying rods and reels, but since I got my last Revo, I think I may stop trying new brands for a while. I have 2 Revo's now and the only way I am looking a different way is through a sale. Otherwise, I think I am a Revo Man
  23. First off, I have no experience in this, but I have an idea that could be a start... You said you have a local following, maybe you could make it a regional following. Since you are in Arkansas, maybe you could look at getting your baits in tackle stores in Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennesee, Kentucky, etc. That may help get a bigger following which may inturn create even a bigger and bigger following. Just an idea. If I can help an anyway, send me a message
  24. I have a Gen 1 Winch and love it, Gen 3 Revo S and love it. Maybe its just a bad Winch. I would take it back and say it wasnt smooth. If you have an issue with the next one, then I would go with the Lews, but Revos are pretty nice reels. I mention the Gen 3 S cause i had an issue with one that felt like it was grinding a bit, took it back for another and its great! I would try another revo and if that is bad go with the Lews.
