  1. X2 the bags are awesome. great bags for the price. id pay twice as much for that bag
  2. watermelon, green pumpkin, black blue flake. sometimes white.
  3. Their skirts seem a little flimsy. Not very full.
  4. On my boat i fish barefoot... on shore with whatever i got on.
  5. Looking to pick up some of these. Anyone using them?
  6. I would go topwater at night. A super spook jr or even better a black jointed jitterbug. Nexti would probably go with a 7 inch t-riged powerworm in black or in green pupking chatreuse tail. Vary your weight to get in through the weeds.
  7. As long as my guide has the " spots " thats all that matters to me. Its 8 hrs drive from my house so im going to fish and have fun and fish.
  8. I'm thinking about going the guide route on St Clair, Traverse bays, and Burt/Mullet. While I'm sure you can go, and catch fish, I want to maximize my time on the water. A guide could really help do that. Will guides typically let you carry a GPS and mark spots? I dont know this is the first time i ever hire a guide
  9. Rod - shinano cumara 6'8 medium fast Reel - shimano sustain 2500 Line- spool 1 - 20lb green power pro with 10lb seaguar invisx leader spool 2 - 8lb yo-zuri hybrid ( probably 6 lb seaguar invisx or tatsu this year )
  10. Smallmouth 4.1lbs may 12, 5:39 at night off the wall at my dads house with a rapala subwalk in silver Largemouth 4.6lbs july 17, 8:13 at night in a foot of weeds on a 3/8 white booyah spinnerbait Not that big compared to some of you guys but they are big for my lake. I will hopefully break my smallmouth pb on may 29-30 this year because i am fishing lake erie with a guide.
  11. i will always throw 3-4 baits in a place that i know is holding fish. That said i always fish with 4 rods so i will cast each into a spot. If i miss on a fast bait ( crankbait, spinnerbait ) I will throe in a plastic and vise versa. After a miss on a spinnerbait a hollow belly berkley swimbait almost always works. Also throwing a senko or a tube seems to work good too.
  12. The spinnerbaits i have used were always 3/8. Would going up to 1/2 give me any added advantages apart from casting distance???
  13. Ive use spinnerbaits quite a bit and this year ill be picking up a bunch. Just wondering what blade configuration everyone has had success with. Ive only ever used willow/willow. I have read a few articles like the one from *** and their very informative but i was wondering what people use the most. Your GO TO blade configuration. Thanks
  14. I would suggest buying a few and trying them out. The easiest way is to figure out the following: 1- Local Bait fish 2- Water depth If foe example your bait fish are shad and your water depth is 6 foot than a good option would be a Rapala DT6 in Shad. Or you have alot of crawfish then your option could be a rattle trap in a crawfish pattern. Here are my suggestions for a first timer. Crankbaits that are guarantees: 1-Lipless crankbait in chrome blu back- rattle trap, xr50, red eye shad 2-Rapala dt series- match the hatch on this one and match your water depth 3-Jerbait- Either a rapala xrap or LC pointer match the hatch I fish them everywhere, anytime. There is a crankbait for every option. I have over 100 crankbaits and jerkbaits. Get that cranbait in the bass zone and match the color to local bait and you will be succesfull.
  15. Spooky shad and rootbeer are awesome. Burn in by them and then bring it back nice and slow. They NAIL it!!! Awesome little bait
  16. I use a Yamamoto Megastrike that i baught. Dont know how much it helps but i use it anyway.
  17. I plan on going out with a couple buddies sturgeon fishing and am wondering what kind of rod i should pickup. Anyone know anything about this????
  18. Picking up some trebles to replace stock hooks. Just wondering for those of you who are using them are you using st-36 or the st-41. They will be used for lmb, smallies and the occasional walleye.
  19. i just picked up a 3000 yard spool of siege.... good stuff
  20. soft- berkley hollow belly swimbaits hard- tru tungsten trulife 4" perch
  21. I got this nasty bugger on a fluo yellow anglia 2. I also caught a couple 1-3 lb lmb that day. Mepps are in my opinion the most underrated lures on the market. That said i dont use them that much but whenever i do they prove themselves.
  22. Generally speaking i use a spinning for open water and a baitcaster for tight water. But...... if i'm tossing a tube and a senko i will put the tube on my spinning reel and use the baitcaster for a senko. I also generally throw weightless plastics on a medium fast spinnning rig and weighted plastics on a medium heavy extra fast baitcaster rig. I guess there no right or wrong in this case i just see what works best on the water and do that.
  23. Me either..... ;D you guys should come up here. we'll go hit up the lake with only a jitterbig on the line and a jitterbug in your pocket as a bckup and i guarantee you have a smile on your faces all night long. The jointed black jitterbugs in 5/8 are my best sundown/ night time producers for me.
  24. Spooky shad color is that BOMB!!!! That color kills it up here. I have the little john and the little john md in it and its awesome. I have clear water and i throw the little john in 4-6ft of water. Any conditions this is a awesome combo. The " LJ" in spooky shad is a killer little cranbait. The little john in general aew awesome and i have a few but the spooky shad in particular is a real producer.
