  1. I wonder what your old Avatar buddy would have to say about all this beens how his home town is New Orleans. LOL
  2. Apparently you didn't see Favre's last pick against the Giants in the 2007 NFC Championship. No this time it was different. The NFL paid him and the rest of the offense to turn the ball over and for Jared Allen to go easy on Brees. It explains why Goodell was there too. It was all rigged. ;D I'd believe it. ;D That guy will do anything for $. The funny thing is he still uses that good ol' country boy facade that wore thin here about a decade ago. Lol you guys need to stop hatin' the Saints are my home team and have definately worked hard for this season besides it is about time they went to the Super Bowl. Oh yea.... if the game was paid off they wouldn't have creamed Favre's old @$$ so much but I have to give the old guy his props he is one tuff S.O.B.
  3. Last year I bought into a private fishing club for about 50 dollars since I'm a minor. The club leases 3 private lakes that are about 40 acres combined. Two of the lakes are connected on the right side of the road and the other is secluded on the left side. I've fished the right side before with little success so I decided to try the left side which is way more difficult to launch a boat but it sure paid off. I didn't go 100 yards into the lake and caught two, the second being this "mama" I'm guessing she was close to six lbs, if not she was just shy of it. I owe a big Thank You to Keri May, Glenn's wife because she sent me some Rage Space monkeys Okachobee Craw. I ended up catching nine fish in two hours all on that bait.
  4. "Git fishing", "Go Fishing", "Enter Fishing Hole",
  5. I've noticed that the link to enter the website has changed a couple times over the past couple of weeks. About a month ago it was just "Enter" then it changed to "Start Fishing" now it is "Enter Fishing Site". A few of mine, which may be corny are "Get Hooked", "Set the Hook", "Cast Away", "Fish at your Own Risk", and simplicity is always greatness "Go Fish" I was just thinking that Glenn or (whomever) is tampering with the enter link, possibly trying to come up with a good idea. Maybe, if they are willing to listen, some of you guys's ideas could help them out. Just thought this would be a good idea for a new post.
  6. Spinnerbait heavy with big blades, senko, weightless lizard, if it warms up- spro frog or ribbit (may work also at dawn and dusk), zoom superflukes, or swimming jig. Good luck
  7. lol my dad tied on a hookless power ranger cork for me. He was fishing topwater in the lilly pads when I threw out with that yellow thing and about a 3 lb bass hit it. I didn't have any hooks on it but I reeled until he let go. That's when my dad let me use real baits.
  8. I'm not exactly sure where at but a good friend of my dad's, Tony Fuqua, told me that him and Larry Peecher (I guess I spelled that right), I'm not sure they were fishing the same place or the same time with one another but one of them was fishing just south of San Miguel somewhere and caught 23 lbs. using a lake fork magic shad rigged with a chatter bait head on it. I know it sounds funny but this guy wouldn't lie to me he's just one of the more sincere guys that you meet. He told me that if he can make it out there the weekend of the tournament, he would show me this location and a few others. I was wondering if maybe you knew about where this location could be since you keep up with all the tournaments won? He said it was only about a 500 yard stretch that they were catching them on. Maybe that will help you out.
  9. Glenns wife keri sent me some really nice swimbaits for the Christmas exchange... I was wondering how productive you have been with them and if they work during the spawn. Also... I was wondering if you have ever done any good fishing in the back of San Miguel. My buddy Chance won third in the National Highschool tournament last year and I know that's one of his father's favorite locations along with the 1215 area.....
  10. I disagree that bigger is better when you are catching fished that were raised up on fish feed and biological help to make them grow bigger. Ofcourse its great to catch them... but you just dont get that satisfaction of goin through all the trouble of finding them in a lake or river. It's kinna like these big deer hunters on tv. I would take my Eight point trophy that I worked hard hunting in the woods for over a big 12 point killed off a ranch that they have been feeding at the same time every day in the same place so that the guides know exactly where to put you. It defeats the purpose of the sport.... That's why its called "Hunting, not "Killing" and "Fishing" not "Catching"
  11. Yea lol I'm a little emarrassed about what I did though. We were texas rigging watermelon purple lizards and brushhogs. NOTE: I was only 12. I hooked into several descent fish.... I didn't have my drag set and kept missing them because the spool kept spinning free. I thought something was wrong with it and then my dad showed me... but yea I felt retarded. I've come a long way since then
  12. Oh cool... I thought the 1215 area was only where the road crosses. So the 1215 area covers a vast area? Where does it start?
  13. Ok im from Louisiana and I fish a few gravel pits of my own. Ok around my house there are usually culverts between each pit or a small cut in the land. Usually you will have good luck there either because there is a slight current moving through it or because it narrows the water down. Either way... if the hydrilla is soo thick that it reaches the sruface like a matt from the bank or it is under the water 6-10 to however deep it is growing in the pits you need to move to the edge of the grass. fish off the edges of the grass because the bass move to the edges of the grass just like deer move to the edges of a hedge row. Try taking a spinnerbait throw it into the edge of the grass about a foot or two and rip it through the grass or throw it parallel to the outside edges. Or use a brush hog or good worm. Another thing to try if the grass is matted at the surface would be a topwater frog like a ribbit or a spro frog, or soft jerkbaits on top of the matts of grass. The fish will literally bust through the matt to get them. That's all I can think of right now.... listen to everyone's opinion and you will come out fine.
  14. Have you ever fished around the North Toledo Bend State Park area? I haven't fished on Toledo Much but me and my dad took a ride one vacation up north Toledo because it was so nasty and sloppy we didn't wanna get out on the lake.... We went to this run down old store called "Jolly Rogers" which was on the Louisiana side. This store was completely covered in poloroid pictures of fish and "game" killed on Toledo. It was a due East wind blowing and was about 42 degrees. The man told us that the fish should be biting. Me and my dad kinna shook our heads like Wha' :. We went back to our cabins on San Miguel and my dad decided to take out and try fishing. We ended up going straight across from the North Toledo Bend state Park boat ramp. We caught 22 bass. Biggest was a little over six lbs. Caught a few around 4lbs and the rest were from 1-3 lbs. We only caught them on one bank of about 150 yard stretch. So my question is did we just get lucky or is this a decently productive area to fish?
  15. Most definately Randy Howell. Great fisherman. fishes similar to my style and just an all around great person.
  16. Only did it once and will never do it again because I really almost messed up bigtime... There is a local buyou called Horsepin buyou and in the road has a steep hill going down and a steep hill going up where the buyou crosses and it is all in a big sharp curve in the road. When I went down I almost hit the side of the bridge on my right and I over corrected not seeing a car coming around the curve. Almost hit the car which could have had anyone in it... I thought about that one real hard afterwards.... and yea will not ever make that mistake again :-[
  17. Lol we go canoeing down the Ouiska Chitto every year and jump off of that same bluff. ( You know the one I'm talking bout) it will definately get your blood pumping. But seriously... about two years ago a young guy did jump off and die. He didn't jump out far enough and hit the hard clay imbankment. Soo.... I'm not gonna do that again.
  18. You feel the bag with acetelyne? We do that in Agriculture at school with milk cartons and blow them up... maybe I should put that on my list lol ;D If we get caught.. we are sooo dead....
  19. Well I am still young and will probably have a few more to add to this thread in a few years but this is what I got so far: Riding my 400 EX at 80 MPH and jumping many obstacles Making a homeade bomb out of my dad's stash of Go Ex Black Powder. Running my boat acrossed the lake in 3 foot swells when my dad clearly said not to go. Umm.... Fishing in the lightning Paddling across the arm of an unfamiliar lake in a very small rubber raft from walmart that was taking on water. Falling off of a beaver dam when it was 29 degrees outside trying to kill ducks. That's enough for now.... Wait... Oh yea and probably in a bout 20 seconds posting this message for my dad to find out about the black powder lol :-X
  20. That thing is huge! and you are one brave S.O.B. Fishing at night..., in a Kayak which could topple over, catching 10 - 30 lb stripers in the freezing cold waters. Yes my friend.... You have some very large Kahunas.
  21. Those are some great fish. The big one is definately 6 lbs or better. Can't really get a good judgment from pictures.
  22. I am really sorry about the wait Keri, I have been at my dad's house and our computer crashed over there so I couldn't see that they had lost my package but I did get a post card from UPS and I got my package today and all I can say is THANK YOU! Me and my dad were jsut talking the other day about those Evolution Jigs (They look so awsome on the video) and I have been itching to get some of that Mega Strike Attractant. The baits you sent me are definately "different" and that's what it takes to win tournaments down here. The rattling spinnerbait will definately be awsome on our local lake... white spinners are killer in the spawn. I LOVE RAGE Tail and love the space monkeys so you did great on that and the Big DEAD ringer SINKO things the (diamond backs) along with the leaf tail worms will work great also. I have a big tournament coming up on Toledo Bend in March and I really want to try those swimbaits out there on 1215. They have an odd smell... smells like it will catch fish though. Even though I know I won't be able to make the Road trip this year which is a downer for me I love the Kentucky lake shirt. I am taking a big trip out to Alabama for the classic to meet up with Mr. Bob Lusk about some opportunities and will not be able to hit the PickWick trip :'(. Sorry I know this is an extremely long post but I can't express how thankful I am and also how sorry I am for the wait. MERRY CHRISTMAS! to all Thanks again, Dalton
  23. I do not fish for crappie much. But my grandparents do. Matter of fact I live on the third best lake in the country for crappie fishing or as we call them here "White Perch". Lake is Called Saline Larto complex if you wanna look it up.... anyway all i know is sometimes they use minnows and sometimes when the minnows aren't working they will switch to tiny perch tube jigs. They use a slip cork on a fly rod. The there is some kind if stopper that you attach to your line that you can set on your line so that it only slips so far through the slip cork before stopping. This allows you to fish at different depths. I think they usually fish from 12' to 8' deep. Also go to walmart and get what they call bait bites made by berkley. They come in a small container and are usually lime green or hot pink. Either way they put off a scent in the water that attracks the crappie. They look like little pellets. You take them and put them on your hook far enough down so that your hook point isn't covered. Fish out of your boat until about february threw march when the perch come up to the bank. If you can figure out what I am talkin about and figure out these things you will catch lots of white perch. Like I said, I am not a crappie fisherman at all but my grandparents usually come in with 40 to 60 a trip. I have been with them once or twice and it's pretty cool but I love my bass fishing. Some people on the lake will take an old square bell of hay and sink it with concrete blocks with a jug tide to them. I've herd this attracks alot of perch. Also I've herd ground up sweet potatoes (yams) in a bucket with a lid on it works too. Drill many holes in the bucket and sink it. Tie a jug to it so you can find it and fish around it. I hope these tips help you. Good Luck
  24. I'm glad you made this post Catt... I have been trying to get a message out that is similar to this. This is my message: I don't come from an extrememely wealthy family, Although I make good grades, I am not the smartest person either. My father is a carpenter and my mom is a pharmasist's technician. What I can say is that I do have a dream of becoming a professional angler. THE BIG MESSAGE, "Don't ever believe you can't do something." Don't be too modest to click the contact button on your favorite angler's website, or your favorite music artist etc. Recently I have had many doors opened for me just because I am outgoing and I have the heart to go forth and conquer. One day , while in a local store, I met up with Jeff Conella who fishes in the BASS weekend series. He was very willing to teach me many things that he knows about fishing such as the benefits of flourocarbon and tungsten weights. MATTER OF FACT he was on his way to fish a tournament on Toledo Bend. It was a great experience. Also, thanks to this website I got in touch with Mr. Bob Lusk who owns pond boss. When he told me to call him up about some info about his career, we fell into conversation about me and my passion for fishing competitavely. Now I will get to meet him at the classic in Alabama this year and he is going to introduce me to a few pros and help me learn a little bit about the professional world. Another Example is when I was on one of my favorite angler's websites, Randy Howell, and decided to click the contact button to tell him how big a fan I am and asking him to lend me a tip or two about my dream. Sure enough, two weeks later I recieved an email from Mr. Howell, which I still have saved, with many good words of enlightenment and advice. Hopefully God will keep opening doors in my life and one day I may become pro. Just never be too modest and always be outgoing and you will be surprised what can happen.
  25. I did the same thing with a crankbait one time. I was in the back of the boat while my buddy was running the front of the boat. I threw the crank out and told my buddy to turn around because I thought the crank would be floating. As we keep drifting, I realize that it is a suspending crank that I threw out and it is sinking slowly to the bottom. I felt so stupid.
