Professional Angler shirts and jerseys.
Our school club will be attending the TBF national highschool tournament next summer on Dardanelle. We really want to look good as a team when we get up there. I was wondering if anyone on the site could help us find some professional shirts and/or jerseys at a decent price. I need to know about it plenty of time in advance so that we can begin to raise money to buy them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dalton

My Fishing Senior Pictures!
They are amazing! Not only is it my first Skeet Reese rod but it is also my first 7'+ rod. I don't think I'll ever buy another rod under 7'.

My Fishing Senior Pictures!
Lol actually the cap issue was pretty funny. I work ALOT so most of my caps are ragedy and ugly. That was the best one i had and the pictures were a spur of the moment ordeal. BTW I thought you were a Saints fan? Why don't you take one more good look at that cap buddy... lol ha.

My Fishing Senior Pictures!
Lol ha..... I am going to take some more with nice dress clothes on that aren't related to fishing. Now, about the hawg issue.... it was really windy and as you can see, all i had was a paddle. I ended up fishing for about and hour after taking the pics I caught about 11 or 12 fish but no size. biggest was about 2 lbs. My friend said we may go back out there. He will get in the boat with me and take some more... hopefully I can catch a good one then when the water cools down a lil more. Considering my conditions I think I did fairly well with about an hour and a half to actually fish.

So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
I remember looking on this thread one time, and there was a site to go to and put in the coordinates to find humps and ridges and it showed the topography of the lake. I've been looking through the thread maybe I'm over looking it. What do I need to go to?

Cypress Infested lakes
Ha yea i started using flourocarbon and tungsten weights about a year ago. I love them both but, with it being my senior year and not having a load of money to blow, I am switching back to mono line. Yea jack fish really make me mad. alot of people like catching them on this site. They call them Pike though but down here they don't really get big and they just seem like a trash fish to me. But hey we also eat Grinnal or "Bowfin" which seems to intrigue alot of yanks on the site lol. ;D I am from Louisiana I'd try anything once..... or twice lol. The motto is if you see something and you don't know what it is..... shoot it and eat it and ask questions later. But about your problem on the lake. Is the lake a very deep lake? Because when I think of your description a few lakes come to mind in a small community just south of here, matter of fact, the fish in my avatar is from one of them. These two private lakes are small Cypress lakes and when I caught the fish in my avatar, it was late January and we had a streak of warm weather for about a week or two. We fished their twice in that period and caught one about 6 1/2- 7 which is the one in my pic and another about 5 lbs. along with about 15 -20 2-3 lb fish. I went back to fish them this summer and the grass had taken it over and we only caught a few small fish here and there, and ALOT OF JACKFISH. I think you should stick with the lake and wait till winter sets in and gets rid of some of the grass. Go back in the spring and Molly Hop 'em like I will in these lakes. In the mean time find a lake that is productive for this time of year or get ready for hunting season cuz it's right around the corner. Well I decided to change my avatar pics here are the pics that i meant for u to see. Good Luck, Dalton

Cypress Infested lakes
ok me a sockey are from Louisiana so we would probably know the most about this. I would say 99% of the lakes I fish are exactly like what u described. if the grass isn't too thick you might start by throwing spinnerbaits around the trees. Buzzbaits are good early in the morning right at first daylight and right before dark. If the grass is extremely thick I would throw a fluke or frog in the grass. Now the depth of the trees matters alot also. If these trees are 8 foot or deeper and the grass isn't too thick, throw a brush hog or rage craw with a 1/4 to 3/8 oz weight and peg it or texas rig. Or use a jig. Clear water use anything watermelon. If the grass is extremely thick. Take a 3/4 oz to 1 oz weight pegged and use a 7.5" to 10" worm so that it will punch threw the grass. I would key on isolated trees and trees that run closest to creek channels. These usually produce the best. That's all I got for now. Good Luck Dalton

Mike Heart Cheats in Nevada Tournament
Is it possible that the hook and line in the bass you caught could have been the result of a break-off? This is my point....

Mike Heart Cheats in Nevada Tournament
I have a question.... I recently caught a bass that had fishing line sticking out of its anus or whatever the term is for it, which tells me it had a hook and most likely a weight inside of it. My question is..... if you catch a fish and it dies.... they inspect the fish after cleaning it and find a hook line and weight do you automatically get penolized even if you are positive that you did not cheat and the fish broke someone off. Do you get the chance to take a lie detector test? Just curious

Most rewarding way to fish
Ha! yea you got that right! I went to a local outdoor store yesterday and got some floating markers and looked at some new depth finders to put on my console so that I can really buckle down and learn how to deep water fish. Very jealous dude! I have been saving for a boat for 3 years and about to get my own i cant wait to try things i could never do with my pontoon! BTW thats a beautiful, healthy bass you got in your avatar Thanks man I caught her in January at some private lakes about 10 miles away. I was flipping cypress trees in about 5-6 foot of water but the secret was a light weight because the fish were suspended underneath the first root system. I've went back to that lake this summer but had little succes. It is super grassy and really deep. The water temp was in the upper 90's and the grass was too thick to fish deep so it is very difficult in the summer time.

Most rewarding way to fish
Where I live, it is mostly shallow water cypress lakes that are great to fish year round with the exception of the Dog days of summer unless you plan on getting there super early or fishing late evening till dark. The reason for this is the shallow water. These lakes have no Thermocline. Well... I finally got a new truck so now I can go a little ways from the house and learn to fish some deeper lakes. Me and buddy went up to a lake called Grand Bayou Reservior Saturday morning. We caught a few fish on topwater and flukes early that morning on grass flats. When the sun came out the bite slowed down so I knew we had to do something different. My buddy said there was an underwater ridge in this lake that everyone caught fish on but I wasn't used to this type of fishing. We went out and tried it anyway. I dropped the trolling moter and stayed on the front deck to watch my depth finder while my buddy idled us around out in the middle and sure enough we found a ridge that dropped from 10' to 22' very quickly. We stopped and decided to fish there and I had no confidence whatsoever. I threw out a Junebug red trick worm with a pegged 3/8 oz weight. We postioned our boat in 10' and threw into 20'. I learned to fish uphill by reading on BassResource. ;D About the third cast I felt thump thump and caught one about 1 and 3/4 lb. Not a big fish but it was a fish! I got the fish of and found my postion again and then I caught another one about 2 3/4 lb. to 3lbs. That time the boat traffic picked up and it was hard to find the postion again. We never could find the right spot again. I caught only two fish off the ridge . I have to honestly say that those fish were some of the most rewarding that I have ever cuaght. I realize that I need to bring my GPS along with me from now on to mark the ridge on, I need to get me a few orange markers to leave floating and I need to bring along an anchor. I was curious if anyone could give me anymore tips about this type of fishing? I plan on learning to do it well and I'm not afraid to ask for help. lol Here are the pictures from this weekend. Any help would be appreciated. First fish! Second Fish! My Green boat and my New green truck!

Catchin a few nice ones....
Ok so here is the story behind these two fish. I have been fishing tournaments on Wednesday nights at my local lake and haven't been pulling in the same size fish that I have been catching when I'm prefishing. The Tuesday before the first wednesday evening tournament I took my girlfriend out on the lake to prefish for wednesday and caught one good 5-5 and a half pound fish. Thought I was going to kill em Wednesday but went back out and caught 3 small ones. Here is that fish. Ok so the next week I had a completely other plan to go across the lake and get away from the other anglers. I thought I was on fish but dint catch fish where I had cought them that Saturday before. So I went back across the lake and caught a few fish where I caught the first big one but no where near the same size. I finished out better in this tournament but still needed 9 Lbs with three fish to even place. Four places were paid. I had 5 lbs. So I went out the next day with my buddy looking for a rod he had lost the day before and caught this one about 4- 4and a half lbs. in a completely different location but I'm not sure what to do in the next tournament this coming up wednesday. Any Suggestions???? Anyway I caught this fish but the picture that my buddy took of me turned out horrible ( the sunlight was too bright) he had to get a picture with the fish though and it turned out good so here she is. Again I need suggestions. Any help would be appreciated.

Your thoughts on scent
Well I received some megastrike scent in a tube from kari may, Glenn's Wife, and I have began to use it alot when I am worm fishing and I honestly beleive it has helped to increase my strikes.

Shad Spawn questions????
Ok...... never researched too much about the shad spawn but I'd like to learn about the behavior of bass during this period. I was always familiar with spawning bass but never really knew what the shad spawn was all about. Another reason I want to learn is because we recently had the shad spawn here in our local lakes and now we have these tiny shad swimming around that are hard to see but the big bass really aren't being caught. Why is this and what are some techniques I can try to increase my catches on large fish this time of year. I know that the moon hasn't been right for the past couple of weeks and the fish have really had a good case of the "lock Jaw". I've tried going after the fish with crawfish to see if they were eating crawfish better during this period and I've tried downsizing too but nothing seems to be working well. Do these big fish just go deep for a while and then come up in a couple of weeks? I really need some information and some help during this time of year.... any information would be appreciated.
