  1. Thanks guys... and I'm not letting it get to me. I mean, seriously, I got fish to catch and tournaments to compete in. If I let this bother me too bad, it could result in loosing because of ill attitude. God Bless, Dalton
  2. Thanks, it was awsome meeting you guys too! Will I see you guys in N.O. next year?
  3. Ok guys, I'm sorry I haven't been online for a while and I'm sorry I haven't posted any of my pictures of the Classic. I had made an awsome slideshow/video on the personal computer at my mom's OLD home but the day after I created it (which was the day that I was going to post it), my mom and my step dad decided to split up and get a divorce. So the slideshow is at my step dad's house saved on the computer and they won't let us take any thing other than our personal belongings until the lawyers settle everything. I know divorces are usually bad but he was not good for her at all and I think she's going to be alot happier now. The other day, she finally came to my first highschool tournament weigh in. BTW I got second place. Only two teams caught fish and that was me and my buddy and two other guys. Both teams only caught one fish a piece. Those guys just caught a good one that morning and I fished as hard as possible, but could only pull out one that day that only weighed about two lbs. Theirs weighed 5.20 unfortunately. So out of 8 highschool teams (14 people) only me and this other guy caught fish. I sure hope we don't go back to that lake. Anyways guys, I hope to get that video up and going as soon as the lawyers work things out. And if not I'll try to get my camera back and make another one.
  4. Definately my dad. He has taught me just about everything I know and has always had faith in me throughout my tournament fishing.
  5. If you would have been at the Classic launch at anytime during the duration of the tournament you would have understood just how focused these guys get. I have pictures that I am working on posting of KVD and many of the other pros and you can see the seriousness in their eyes and faces. These guys are all great. KVD Slowed down and fished his area very VERY slow and well over the three day duration. He literally stayed in a 100 foot radius for three days and probably threw next to each peice of structure 100 or more times a day. That's what consistency is all about and that's why KVD won.
  6. Yea, we are very fortunate compared to the rest of the country. The only problem where I live is the high water. But guess what? Fish live in water, it's just a matter of finding them although it is alot more difficult. I am supposed to be fishing a highschool tournament in march so I will be reading up on your threads Catt . A few people from around here are going to be fishing a tournament over there in a couple weeks, would you happen to be fishing in this tournament?
  7. Lol I know its just like that down south Louisiana and there are a pretty good bit around here especially when we are in a drought. They will all migrate to water and it is crazy. My dad told me that when he was my age, him and my grandpaw went frogging and, with about 12 gators in the water, he said my grandpa got out of the boat and would tap the gators on the head with the gigging pole to make them go under. He said he waded in the water through them just to catch a frog. Lol but the funny part is that my dad said my grandpa was scared out of his mind of beavers and nutri rats. lol I thought that story was relevent to this thread. By the way, those are some beautiful bass, they are really dark, almost black and I love that.
  8. Well the heavy freezing will have its toll. But once the Ohio Valley thaws out and the snow melt comes down the Mississippi river and the heavy snows in northern Texas and Oklahoma melts and it comes down the Red river, there will be an extreme high water and you will have plenty of them all over the flooded roads and when it goes down they will be everywhere.
  9. Great fish man! What kind of combo is that and how much was it?
  10. Great fish man!
  11. If you are looking for a good fishery in central Louisiana I would try the Saline/Larto complex but i wouldn't suggest trying it right now because the high water has got most all boat launches closed. If you want to try somewhere with big fish, you could try Black Lake in Campti. It seems like the last few years that is where the monsters are being caught. One tournament they had on Black Lake there were two 10 pounders and one 11 pounders weighd in. This was like last year sometime. So far this year, the biggest that I know that came out of their was 9 lbs. Cane River is another excellent place to try, especially at night. Good luck!
  12. This is a great site and I'm from the Central Louisiana area. If you need any info about this area just look me up on here and I'll be glad to help you out
  13. Lol I bet you are feeling a good drop in temperature about right now....
  14. Yea I got to talk to just about all of them for a good while. Talked to Arron Martens, Pam Wells, G man (ofcourse), Kevin Wirth, and I probably talked to Ike the longest which was awsome! I'm going to post a video that I have of him, we threw him some purple Mardi Gras Beads, and I caught him break dancing in the bottom of the boat, I just hate to hear myself talk on film lol.
  15. Thats me gettin my hat from Gregory Swindle! WoooooHoo! I had so much fun, I am so glad I got to meet some of you guys. Sorry I didn't go back down to the livewell seats but as you can see in the Picture of Gregory Swindle I was in a great spot to talk to the pros. Unfortunately I had to leave the last day so I didn't get to say goodbye but I had a blast!
  16. I have fished there onece when I was younger with my dad. Although I am not extremely familiar with the area it's a great place to fish up there. I would suggest looking for Nantachie buyou up there, find out where it, and the red river meet and try going up the buyou if the water is too high and muddy. There has been some monsters caught out of nantachie, especially when they are draining it. I'm sure that the water is extremely higher than normal up there so I'm not really sure what to tell you about the fishing except to find Oxbows and probably go as far back as possible. Down here in our pool, which is the Alexandria area, it is a little more difficult to fish. Try fishing stump feilds up in the shallow areas that may have a ledge or drop off near by. Deep water access plays a big role up there in that area, just look back at Ike last year who almost won the classic in shreveport. Well I hope the information I have given you is somewhat helpful, I know it wasn't much. Good Luck on your tournament.
  17. I Hope to meet with you guys too. I was just wondering if you guys had picked a location yet? and if so could post it asap so that I can make plans to be there.
  18. So I've been working hard to get a bass club started at my highschool with little help from any adults. My old school had a bass club but had a good head sponsor that knows alot about running a bass club and alot about fishing in general. I've been stuck out on a limb to really get this club started beens how no adults at my school either, Knows how to run a club or even bass fish. Anyway, I got a girl to draw us up a logo and I took the logo to a printing shop and got us all shirts. Check them out and see what you guys think. Back Front Left Chest Design
  19. I was a really big fan of Pinnacle reels till I bought a Pro X series reel. Between me and my dad, we have owned three and everyone of them broke. When I bought the first one, it was one of the smoothest reels I had ever felt but they didn't last long. On two of them, I would be fishing, press down the button and it would never click back up. One of my friends had the same thing happen to him on his Pro x. Is this just a faulty design in reel and do you know if there has been an excessive amount of returns on this reel?
  20. I believe that it depends on the mood of the fish also. Sometimes when they just aren't quite as interested in the bait they will just strike the bait to strike it instead of striking to eat. Everyone on this thread is right about what they do but what I like to do is just pop my bait three or four times or just stop the bait on the retrieve in. This sometimes causes the fish to be ontop of the bait if they are chasing it and will cause them to take it.
  21. Catching plenty of fish and just having a good time.
  22. Thats a monster man. I can't wait to take a trip to Falcon.
  23. You guys really catch some monsters out there. Keep the pics coming.
  24. Good job man, great bait year round.
  25. How about a howdy who dat! from Deville, Louisiana.
