We caught one or two here and there but, our best numbers came on the northeast side of Strum Island. Holy smokes, we went through the Pig Trail on Monday, and drove right past "northeast Strum Island" on our way to Seven Palms. Roger howd you do at seven palms?

We caught one or two here and there but, our best numbers came on the northeast side of Strum Island. About 80% of our fish came pitching soft plastics (beavers and vibri-king tubes in black or black/blue) through mats of broken up cane blown up next to shore or caught up in the pads. We got a few to bite texas rigged worms dragged through the pads and one day just prior to the front coming through the fish became agressive and I took 6 or 7 on a spinnerbait. All our fish came in less than 5 feet of water. Good luck. Awesome, yea im fishing there this weekend and hopefully my boater will want to fish areas that are good like that area

what area of the lake were you fishing

Ya......... On sunday, I stopped by Laker Parker here in Lakeland to look at the boat ramp and the windsurfers were having a blast. Parker is still down, not quite as far as a month ago but still pretty low :-/ you normally fish from bank or boat in lakeland? cause i cant seem to find a place tofish from the bank in lakeland or winter haven

well i ended up not fishing. im sure you know the conditions on sunday. its was cold and about 20mph winds. i dont think the canoe would of help up lol. but ill be back again in about a week or so.

hey dude im a youngster as well, but i fish club tournaments here in south florida and i fish federation events as well as BFL events. I had same questions and doubts when i first wanted to begin tournaments, the best thing you can do and most likely the smartest is to just to go a club and explain who you are and what you would like to do and they will guide you in the right direction
